I was contacted for an interview for a Pool and Spa Technician position at Peak One Pool and Spa. I scheduled an interview for 1:30pm and confirmed this time and date via email. I drove an hour from Denver to the Boulder location for the interview. Upon arrival I buzzed the ring camera and spoke with the woman I was scheduled to interview with. A technician who happened to be onsite went inside and spoke with Lauren Hengstenberg, then came out and said "She's not here. But she said the interview was scheduled for 11:30am." I was then contacted by phone by a Peak One agent who said "We use a third party scheduler and there must have been a mix up." He truly knows what he's doing and does the job right. He listens when you talk to him and really follows through when he says he's going to do something. Beware: They canNOT fix hot tubs & will just refuse to communicate. They sent a tech to me who spent 6 hours on 2 different trips without diagnosing the problem that another company diagnosed in 10 mins. They would not respond to my voicemail or emails. And they blew up a neighbor's circuitry trying to diagnose their problem. They CAUSE problems they don't fix them. read more

My pool had sat idle for several months as we replaced the heater and salt cell. Additionally we had a ton of rain which filled our (in ground) spa with a ton detritus. Peak One inspected the pool on my new house at time of purchase. The inspection quality was fine and, I felt, accurate. There is something I hope they can improve on however and it's a dealbreaker. The service tech they sent seemed to have a problem speaking to women as equals. He directed all communication to my husband and could barely look me in the eye. I am responsible for this pool, am very competent at such things, and have taken a lot of time to understand all aspects. The owners are from New York. They don't even live in Boulder. They don't care about Boulder or swimming pools. The wife took over the business and she has no interest in swimming pool maintenance. It's all about the money and milking Boulder. The husband Ted used to keep a blacklist in the office of all the customers he hated. Isn't that nice? You're better off taking care of the pool yourself or have a college kid do it for you. It's not difficult. Peak one is extremely unprofessional. I would never let them near my pool. read more

The so called secretary comes and goes as she pleases and never returns calls, They are trying to charge me 70 dollars for late fees, when I never received a bill. These guys are very helpful. Good service, they have and use all of the fastest and best equipment to service Your Pool. This makes them faster than their competitors making it cheaper! They also are very courteous about referring equipment even if they aren't going to be the ones to sell it to you. I've paid these people many thousands of dollars to make many repairs to my pool and pool systems and I'm very disappointed. They repaired my pool cover, a constant source of frustration, and it broke again after just a few openings, probably the fourth time they worked on it. Ridiculous.. They tried to tell me it was my fault because it was only a temporary repair, but that's BS. Why would I pay $1600 for a temporary repair? I honestly think they do try to do solid work, especially Ryan and Ron, but these systems are notoriously difficult to maintain, even with competent people. So they get a little benefit of the doubt, to be fair. But the last straw was a small bill they sent to collections late last year without calling me to request payment. I noticed it on my credit report and asked the owner about it and she reported that it had been paid, but my payment was never reported to the credit bureau. Not cool. I WAS a great customer. Only use this company if you can be there EVERY MINUTE THEY ARE THERE AND MAKE SURE THEY PERFORM THEIR CONTRACT THAT YOU SIGNED. Otherwise they will not perform what they bill you for. I used Peak One pools for the summer to help with our pool & spa maintenance. Because of a medical issue we were not there every week when they did service. They billed me double several times for work that was not done. They do not stand behind their contract when their employees fail to do their job. They did not clean the pool or spa filters the entire season nor did they ever fill the pool/spa with water as states in their contract. They are so unoriganized that they stated we don't have a spa on their invoice yet they had to walk past a 11' spa to get to the pool and still billed additional for "cleaning" that spa that we don't have. They tried to blame my pool heater vendor of failing when it was Peak Ones fault for never cleaning the filters once all summer. When contacting the manager Jemery he argued with me instead of making it correct. The sad thing is their manager for service, Ron, is great but I can't support a company that is not honest. read more
