There are frequently changes of their staffs. So every time I went there for cleaning, the hygienist was different and as time went by I felt the cleaning was less satisfying compared to the first time. Also, I stopped going here and I changed my dentists because they canceled my cleaning appointment one day before and told me to contact them for rescheduling. So I tried to contact them many times and even left a message to reschedule but no one responded and finally after 1 week, I could contact the office but AI answered, which was weird. read more

I had a 330pm appt to see Dentist. Dr. Zizi Only appt available was 330pm. I had to clear my schedule to get here. Just to have xray-s have the Dentist talk to me for 5 minutes and the billing manager . I spent more time with The receptionist and Xray tech and billing manger than I did with the Dentist who promptly leaves. I was given a prescriptions for antibiotics and the billing manager asking so lets gets you re scheduled in the next 3 days. I already cleared my afternoon for this appointment today. I am a office manager myself. This by far is inconsiderate and bad practice of business. When I was already told this was going to be taken care of today. Now instead I will take my business elsewhere. Before I left the building the Dentist Dr.Zizi. left for the day. As Im waiting for my husband to come back to get me another client is being told the Dr . left because they are late for their appt. I suppose we disrupted the Dr plans for the day? This dental place is the epitome of a drill and bill practice. Some dentists are a better hustler than they are a dentist, this practice exemplifies that. This is going to be a very real review about this place and I hope I can help anyone who reads this. I came here as a new patient after reading a lot of good, but generic reviews. I wanted to go to another dentist that my friends recommended but since I had already scheduled the appointment, I just went through with it. Little did I know, they were worse than I imagined. I haven't been to a dentist in 3 years and this happens all the time - dentists or others shouldn't shame people for it since there are many reasons why that can happen - financial, personal, etc. What happened here was that Dr. Zizi saw it as an opportunity to write out a long treatment plan that will maximize my insurance allowance and more, to extract the most profit out of me, as a patient. Looking back, it's an immediate red flag if the Dr. Zizi wanted to do a deep cleaning on the day of my first visit and she didn't do a comprehensive exam, where she should have measured the depth of my gum all throughout my teeth - though she did charge me for it. Instead, she randomly poked around, didn't mention to me about the depth, and immediately me that I need deep cleaning in all areas. Deep cleaning is the profit puppy of a dental practice and the unethical dentists will operate that on you whenever they get a chance. Another red flag is, after she failed to perform a comprehensive dental exam, she tells me I have 11 cavities. Eleven. Only one of those eleven cavities was new and I thought to myself, I don't think I've even had 11 cavities filled before so I was suspicious. They actually recommended me to do deep cleaning (one side) and cavities fillings (same side) all on the same day, on my first visit. I am not sure if it's because of the pandemic and business is bad but that is not normal at all. I ended up only getting one side deep cleaning done and it was the most painful experience at a dental office, ever. The anesthesia was about 8 injections and I've never had such painful anesthesia at a dental office. I feel like if those injections are more painful than normal cavity anesthesia, then she should have warned me. She was super aggressive with the deep cleaning and I can still feel it after anesthesia. Even if I put aside pain tolerance, I can just tell Dr. Zizi was not trying to be careful. I felt like I was some cement she's trying to scrape off of a house but it's my mouth and there are nerves. I felt like she was rushing everything and trying to do too many things at once. My deep cleaning lasted about 15 mins but I was at the office for 2 hours. The third flag is that they didn't submit my deep cleaning payment at the same time as my normal cleaning payment. I had to call them multiple times in order to get that taken care of because I already paid my deductible and out of pocket - if they didn't submit it to insurance then I have to pay my deductible again at another office. Also, my current dentist office called them to ask about the deep cleaning and they had the audacity to tell my current dentist that no deep cleaning was performed. I think that speaks volumes. I went to another dentist and I didn't have to do a deep cleaning on the other side and just have redo 4 cavity fillings because it has been a while and the material was not as good. This is the dentist my friend recommended. I don't like to write bad reviews to put businesses down for no reason, especially during this time. But I am also not in favor of unethical businesses. That was my real experience and I hope they will improve in the future. The practice should learn that operating ethically and treating their customers right will lead to good business in the long run. You can fool some but you can't fool all. read more

They charged me the bone craft $625 replacement after the procedure without notice. They said because they the assistance is forgot to let me know and its necessary for the tooth exacting. After a while, they call for their manager and tell me they can discount to 50% price of it to $325. This is surprise bill and they force me to respond for it. I explain i don't order for the bone craft but they said it's same thing when you go to heart surgery. The dr will decide its need then they will do and bill it later. But if they raise the price to $10k and discount to $5k I still have to pay because of the "necessary"? They charged me $78 for examination but then preference me to another doctor because they cant and don't have enough doctor for root canal checking. I have to pay additional $125 just to check the root canal doctor in another location. Total examination is $203 I do the flipper 1 tooth only it cost $800 but they said only use within 1 month or so and don't chewy gentle because it's easy to break. It not worth $800! Before that they charge immediately $1200 for tooth extraction and flipper and tell me pay right away though service not happen yet. They notification about the appointment if not show up and if not let them know 2 days before service to charge $50 on that day. However they canceled it at the end of time which i missed the call and left message urgent need not demand about the cancelation. i called back, and then they put me on hold while i driving and already be there. I dont see they compensation for me back $50 because of there's cancelation. Then when i came they asked if it my phone number I dont recommend this clinic. When I came in, they originally said I needed a root canal and told me to come back in a week to put my permanent crown in; even scheduling me an appointment to come back specifically to put the permanent crown in. The temporary crown they placed fell out 3 times in two weeks and I had to continuously take off work to come back to replace it, making me waste my PTO from work and as well as money for the gas to keep going back. You'd think after paying $700+ it would have been done correctly the first time. One of the guys who put the last temporary one in said "THIS ONE WON'T COME OFF NOW" then wiggles it and it popped right off! When I came back a week later, everyone was confused as to why I was back... (another day I had to take off work). I was so upset I wanted to cry! The woman at the front desk apologized and asked if I would like a free teeth whitening, a "$400 value", so that way I wouldn't have wasted my day off for nothing. The dentist then comes in and said he only did HALF of the removal of my tooth last week and needed to finish it today. They completed that and now in a MONTH I have to come back for my permanent crown. Did I get the promised teeth whitening??? NOPE! I have lupus and any type of stress triggers a flare up which in turn compromises my health. Having to deal with this dental office these last few weeks has been beyond stressful. As they worked on my teeth, no one knows where anything was. The numbing medicine wore off the longer they left me there so I cried out in pain during the procedure. I don't even know why I gave them another chance after my last root canal which lasted 7-8 hours!!!!! I canceled my kids' future appointments here because I refuse to risk them making the same mistakes with my children. If I could give 0 Stars I would!!! read more

Peak Dental doesn't even deserve one star but this one star is for the relatively nice front desk. If you just come here for regular cleaning, I guess you'll be fine. Otherwise in all seriousness I don't think the dentist(s) here are competent enough to diagnose/treat other dental problems so PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. My dad visited them due to an infected tooth that made his face very swollen. I, with some medical but not dental knowledge, thought it might be an abscess but was hoping it wasn't. *1st problem: after X-ray and a quick look, the dentist (Dr Chi) told my dad that he had an infection and recommended him to do a tooth extraction. My dad came on Friday afternoon but the dentist prescribed some antibiotic tablets (only 500mg dose) and the front desk planned to bring him back in for the extraction on Tuesday. Seriously Dr Chi?? Were you hoping that the patient with a severe infection and extremely swollen face like that could get back to near normal after 3 days to get his infected tooth removed? And the problem was that THEY DIDN'T FIND OUT THAT THERE WAS AN ABSCESS! *2nd problem: my dad went to ER the next day and he was hospitalized for 3 days because of that dental abscess. The doctor there even checked on him to rule out Ludwig's angina (maybe you don't even know what it is Dr Chi). He had 3000mg antibiotics IV every few hours and had the surgery the next day by the oral surgeon to remove the tooth AND drain the abscess. I called Peak Dental to cancel the appointment as my dad was already in ER, told them about the dental abcess (I didn't mean to complain that they missed it), and they told me dental abscess could develop overnight. Really?? Google is free! *3rd problem: they charged my dad 20% the deposit (refundable) for the procedure he supposed to have with them but was canceled. It has been 1.5 months now and they still have not sent the refund. It's not a big amount but we are infuriated because of their bad service and tactics, which made me write this review so everyone is aware. They even tried to upsell on the procedure, recommended my dad to insert a bone after the tooth extraction to help with bone loss or in case he wants an implant later, which my dad really listened and put the deposit. However, I had confirmed with the oral surgeon that my dad wouldn't need the bone insert because it was tooth #18 far on the back and not one of the teeth near the front! This place is a joke! So my only question to you is when are you going to refund us for the procedure that has never been performed? The amount of money is really not worth my time spent on writing the reviews and calling them but we are very angry at their practice so we have to get it back! read more

This practice does not care for their clients. I almost wonder if they have scammed my husband. He had a seizure and landed on his face, broke his tooth. He went in to get it fixed, and they made him pay $1k up front, said they would submit it to insurance. We have never heard from them again. We have called numerous times, never had an answer. Always said they're still figuring it out. This $1k btw, was to fix his tooth, which is a process. They only did the first step, a temporary tooth. Definitely recommend!! I moved to Austin a while ago and I've been trying out different dentists to find the right one. I had to get a crown on one of my back teeth and most places were quoting me at $700+ after insurance. So I found this quaint little dentist and made an appointment. The place itself is very clean and cute! I've been there twice and I've only seen women work there (which I dig, and a lot of them are ethnic which I dig even more!) They're all super friendly, warm and inviting. The ambiance is more like a spa than a medical facility which gives you a sense of ease and comfort! They also offer coffee, juice, water, Gatorade and let you watch Netflix in your chair which is a nice touch. Anyways, the first time I went in they took a panoramic xray for free (which at a lot of places can be costly if your insurance wont cover or you've had multiple in a year) and then Dr. Zizi talked to me about what needed to get done. I felt that she was very professional and kind. I have a lot of fillings. A LOT. And in the past, dentists have remarked on the amount of fillings I have making me super uncomfortable. So I formed a habit of shyly telling the dentist about it... and when I told Dr. Zizi, she comforted me and said thats totally normal and she even has the same problem and its nothing to worry about. I came in to this practice kind of already knowing what work I needed done, having been told by another dentist. So I let her know what I was told. She did a short exam and agreed. What I appreciated greatly was her explanation of everything.. she showed me the xrays and talked me through what was happening in my mouth and I actually got educated! So anyways, I was quoted and given a discount for upfront payment and came back for part one of the crown procedure. I was taken impressions by this wonderful dental assistant, Yareli, who was very kind! Kindness and bedside manner in these kinds of places should never be overlooked :) So, apparently the procedure is not supposed to be painful, but the tooth that was being worked on was a "hot tooth" so it was, and Dr. Zizi was very nice and stopped every time I flinched and made absolutely sure I was comfortable and numbed me up enough because she didn't want me to feel pain which I thought was sweet! Honestly, I've read some of the bad reviews posted from a while ago. I think the practice has really learned from those experiences and upped their game. Dr. Zizi is great and really knows what she's doing, the only thing is she definitely has a lot on her plate. She jumps from patient to patient, but I think thats a good thing, it means she really loves what she does! So if anything, go for a consultation and decide from there :) read more

Dr. "Zizi" Zayed was the worst dentist I've ever been to in my entire life. All I went in for was a teeth cleaning. Graduating Magna cum laude really means nothing in this case, on Peak Dental's website it says, "Dr. Zizi's expert training and professionalism ensures to provide you with nothing short of the very best dental care." I was not provided the very best dental care, nor did Dr. Zayed show professionalism during my visit. She suggested that my previous dentist had no idea what he was talking about, though I'm sure he is more experienced and more apt in knowing what he's talking about given his age compared to hers. Dr. Zizi's approach was very aggressive, she did not take any time to thoroughly review my mouth, she sped through my examination (which was painful) it usually never is painful. She spent about 2 minutes on my examination, and told me all of my gums were bleeding. Her malicious "measurements" of my gum and bone health did not match up with that off a previous doctor I had been to. After her examination, she chastised me about cosmetic issues, then about gum and bone health. To combat bacterial buildup under the gums, she said I needed a "deep cleaning" she diagnosed this because of all of the bleeding during examination. She told me the patient care representative would come in to talk about price, it was the same person as the receptionist. She reviewed the costs with me for deep cleaning and other dental work, totaling $2,500 to insurance, she asked for a signature, and I refused to sign. I was promptly given a different attitude and the "patient care representative" was handed a note. I was promptly walked out of the office and not charged for the "examination". read more

If you want to have treatment done like crowns go somewhere else. They are great for losing your case. All because they are not organized. I've never had many dental issues - a few cavities total in my life - so when Peak Dental gave me a treatment plan totaling $10K, I was literally shocked! I was in such disbelief that a few weeks later I drove 3 hours to my previous dentist that I'd had for many years before moving to Austin. After looking at the $10K "treatment plan" provided by Peak Dental and after a thorough examination of my teeth, he shook his head and said "things like this used to make me mad, but now they just make me sad. This should be illegal. These dentists aren't learning this in dental school - they're learning this in continuing ed classes on how to make money." Sickening. This was the worst experience of my life. Waited a long time, and also was in this office for two hours total for a CLEANING. Also, the dentist was VERY inexperienced, stabbed me multiple times and made me bleed which has never happened. I understand they use that small needle-like thing to get rid of plaque but this was done HORRIBLY. They also tried to tell me I needed two crowns -- at 24 years old. I finally got my insurance switched over to a PPO and was able to get an exam/cleaning from a reputable dentist. I was in and out in about 50 minutes with full x-rays, scaling, and polishing--no cavities! Not surprisingly, the dentist said nothing about the need for a deep cleaning, invisalign, or the multiple other issues that the Peak dentists apparently uncovered. (Peak had given me a "treatment plan" amounting to $1000s of dollars in work.) My new dentist (personally!) cleaned my teeth and they feel great. He looked into potential issues having to do with my root canal and gave me a heads up that one of my teeth would need a crown but I could wait to have the work done. I had a pretty bad experience with this dental place, in particular with Dr. Zizi. As others have said the exam is not thorough and she's not even close to professional in her behavior. When I got a second opinion elsewhere it became clear what an examination should include - closely examining my gums, and quite a few more x-rays then they took. The most off the rails part of the appointment to get my teeth checked out was how rude and disrespectful Dr. Zizi was! She actually asked me if opened a beer bottle with my teeth to crack a tooth, then had the audacity to come at me like I was lying when I said no. That was followed up by her asking how I didn't know I had cavities in a few teeth that had some discoloration, in a way that strongly suggested I had an IQ in the single digits and she was the smartest person in the building. I went in the day after going to urgent care with an extremely swollen face. The staff is nice. They have imaging equipment. I had an abscess and broken roots. I was told to stay on the antibiotics I got from urgent care and "go back to the ER if swelling gets worse." It got much worse. The ER doc was easily able to drain puss and blood, reducing the swelling in 24 hrs. Yet a SPECIALIST in dentistry couldn't? Idk what I paid $100 for apart from nice staff and fancy equipment. read more

I have dental anxiety. Big time. The entire staff was kind and extremely supportive. I cannot express how awesome all of them were.

If I could give less than a star, I would. The office is new and open, they are very nice, open Saturdays and it's easy to get an appointment. That's where the good news ends. I went in the first time for a cleaning and when I got there, they did a TON of X-rays and photos that took quite a while. The dentist came in and showed me a bunch of photos that to me don't look problematic and told me I needed a deep cleaning, removal of metal fillings and two crowns, and also an additional 3 fillings. This is my first ever visit to the office, mind you. By the way, I never got the cleaning I had scheduled that day. Maybe I mistook the appointment - thought I'd scheduled a cleaning but got a first consult - OK, it's been a while since my last deep cleaning - I made an appointment. Appointment 2, I get there a couple of minutes late and they brought me back fairly quickly. Aaaaannnnd, I wait there for 25 minutes, completely ignored. Someone did come in eventually to pass of a remote so I could watch TV while I waited. The dentist finally came in and numbed me, I waited another 20 minutes for the meds to kick in and then she returned to do the work. Here I had waited 45 minutes total before actually getting to the planned procedure, and got no real explanation why. The cleaning was fine. After the cleaning, there were the two crowns to do, so I made another appointment for a couple of weeks later, which was scheduled to take 60 minutes. I get there early and then I wait. I'm still waiting 15 minutes after my appointment time and still no mention of when I'll even be brought in to a chair. By that time, the jig was up - I elected to 'reschedule'. Stay away, friends. Folks that can't respect your time and keep a schedule don't deserve to care for the health of your teeth. read more

So, this was my first time visiting Peak Dental as a patient and I was very impressed! The only way I truly know how to describe this experience is: Do you remember when you were a kid and you went to family dentist and stuck with them forever, then when you became an adult and had to choose your own dentist, you ended up going to wrong place after wrong place and just wished you could be back in your home town and/or find someone just as good as your good ol' family dentist? This place is exactly that. It's the breakthrough you have when you finally find a dentist office that works so seamlessly, effectively, and everyone (and I mean everyone) treats you like you're a friend of the family. I honestly have not ever met a staff of people who are All on the same page when it comes to working with you on your dental treatment. I went in for a routine cleaning and ended up wanting to hang out and drink tea (served complimentary to you) for the rest of the day with everyone in there. I am just amazed that I didn't find this place sooner, but I promise you, you will walk out with a whole new outlook of what a dentist office represents. Don't waste your time and follow your gut! I guess when you're a new practice you have to try and upsell to keep the doors open. I read the reviews and still made an appointment for my bi annual cleaning. I wondered why I was the only patient there for over an hour. I was told like other reviewers I needed a deep cleaning! When I declined a "deep cleaning" the dentist stated "she would not do a regular cleaning it would be a waste of their time as well as mine"! As she walked out of my exam room, she told the dental assistant she felt defeated today. It was then, I knew my care wasn't her utmost concern it was up-selling. I went to another close by dentist and was told I was fine and for my age (mid 30's) I have great gum health a little plaque. They were kind enough to work me in the same day after hearing what happened to me. This is Austin and there are plenty of other ethical places to consider. Stellar customer service in this office, what a great team they have here. Everyone from the tech Gabby and the other techs as well. Especially the tech with the pretty purple / maroon hair, very sweet. Every front desk experience was that of a well-trained and experienced professional that was easy and great to talk with. All were very friendly, respectful and professional. I came here only for a referral for an orthodontist and ended up needing some more dental work before pursuing the braces adventure. My first experience was incredible, which is very strange for me to say because I don't like going to the dentist normally and it gives me serious anxiety and my blood pressure rises even. Not here though. Dr. Sam not only put me at ease immediately from the time she walked in and smiled, but she also had jokes! And she described everything in detail by using a tooth model as well as my x ray pictures, which I greatly appreciated because I like to know the "Why." I was so relaxed and at ease, that I fell asleep even, which has actually Never happened! When I had to reschedule another appointment for some more dental work, I learned that Dr. Sam was no longer there in the office though and therefore I was reluctant to make the appointment. But I am glad that I did because Dr. Zayed was just as professional. She was straight to the point, which I appreciated, and she explained everything and answered all the questions that I had without over explaining or telling you things that you really didn't need to know. I liked a lot this because it shows that she respects your time. I ended up needing an extraction instead of a root canal or crown as origionally expected, and Dr. Z was very quick and precise. She didn't force anything but used technique and made sure that I wasn't in pain several times during and after. It didn't even hurt at all, just a little pressure and, although a little bit uncomfortable and sore the next day, it healed up quickly and with absolutely no pain or tenderness. She also respected the fact that I didn't want any pain killers and only prescribed enough antibiotics as needed, and not more than was necessary as a personal preference I tend to go as natural as possible with herbs and herbal remedies. (I think that medicine depletes your body's natural abilities to heal itself from within and fight infection.) Dr. Z also called to check up on me personally and see how I was doing a couple of days afterwards and make sure everything was alright, which I have never had dentist do before, which was a step or two up in standards from what I had experienced in the past before where they just take your money and then you never hear from them until it is time for your next appointment or procedure. Overall I personally had an excellent experience in this office, and will definitely be coming back for any and all of my dental work in the future when needed. Sorry, I have to say the dentists there are very inexperienced. I suffered a lot of pain for nothing because of the unprofessional work. The crown that they put for me is still painful from time to time. Will never go back. read more

They got my dude in SAME DAY, with no appointment, ON A SATURDAY, when he broke his tooth... unheard of!!! They are super nice, everything is so clean & modern, no terrible elevator muzak, and are doing everything right. Going to the dentist always sucks, but they have made this as smooth as possible. read more

I'm new to Austin and was in extreme pain. It as Good Friday and no one was open after I got out of work at 5:30pm. I called this office and they saw me within 15 minutes. The dentist and the office assistant were outstanding. They pulled my tooth and gave me a prescription and I was able to enjoy Easter. They were so nice and I was so great full that they saw me. I definitely recommend this dentist office. I will be going back for a cleaning and more work in the coming week. read more

cancelled my appointment to get an extraction and implant three times. didn't refer me out, didn't try to make sure I got the care I needed. their surgeon only comes once a month so you better hope you get an appointment and that he doesn't cancel. I've been waiting to get this implant since January....had to find another dental surgeon last minute to do the extraction before my dental benefits from my old job cut off. its an expensive procedure so really needed to get at least the extraction part done on old benefits, because the implant is upwards of 1200$ with insurance. literally cancelled my extraction apt last minute and then I had 3 days to find another dental surgeon to do it before benefits cut off. disappointed in how little they try to ensure you're getting the care you need. no referrals out no partnerships with other dental offices - feels like they just want to make sure they get your money rather than make sure you get care. read more
