I made an appointment for "the works" and new front brakes a few weeks ago. The appointment was…read moreset for 8:00 AM on June 20th. I arrived at 7:45 and was a little surprised to find the door locked, but no big deal. I waited in my friend's car. I looked and the bay door was opening and because the doors were still locked, I went in the back way, through the garage, to the desk, and told the man who was standing there that I was there for my 8:00 appt. I was very surprised when the man standing there said that he was a customer and that he had opened the bay roll-up door, so we stood there and waited for an employee to arrive. After waiting about 5 more minutes, the first employee showed up, still eating his breakfast, and began opening up the computer. Yes, he was late but said nothing to me at all. The 2nd guy got there and was opening the computer and I stood there for another 5 minutes before he said that someone would be right with me. I dropped off my keys and left with my friend. While we were having brunch, someone called and said that they didn't have my brake pads. He said that they could use a different brand than the one I needed, and that they would be just as good. I said that would be fine. He said that my car would be ready in about 2 hours. A couple hours later my friend dropped me off at the service dept, and I went in to check on my Ford. He said that the brake pads weren't there yet so it would be a while longer. I said ok and went into the waiting room and sat there until 2:45 when someone came in and said my car was ready. I told them they had really dropped the ball with me. First, they were late and there is no excuse for that. Next, they had my appt on the books for weeks. Why couldn't they check on what I would need for the brake pads and had them there waiting for me when I arrived? Next, why was I still waiting for the brake pads to arrive? They said they had the other ones that were just as good. Then they charged an extra 3% for using a credit card instead of cash. While I understand having this charge for a little mom-and-pop store, it was ridiculous for such a big company to add an extra service fee. Then the last time I went there they said I would need new tires. This time they said my tires were good, so I highly doubt that they even looked at them, much less rotated them. I received no apology, no nothing. For some reason, the receipt shows I paid at 10:36, instead 0f 2:45, and that is simply a lie. I don't think we will be taking our Fords there again for any reason. Thanks for your time, mine was certainly wasted.

I noticed a noise in my engine and shortly after the A/C went out in my 2004 H2 Hummer. I looked at the engine to find my A/C belt was off and bound up. At ~2 pm on a Thursday, I found Gerard's Automotive Shop and hoped for the best as I was 2 hours from home with work at 8 am the next day and unsure how safe it was to continue driving. They were busy servicing many customers. I asked for help, and I was politely told they were backed up but would take a look in ~45 minutes. ~30 minutes later they took that look and quickly found that the tensioner had gone bad on my A/C unit which caused my belt to slip and bind. Within 2 hours I was taken care of for less than $200. Furthermore, they identified an oil leak, took pics, and sent them to me. The owner chatted with me and my son, gave us cold water and a cookie while we waited. How long has it been in your life since you had such great service as a non-existing client/customer? It's been quite some time for me. I can't thank these guys enough as they not only saved me a ton of time, worries and money, I now know when I travel from Atlanta suburbia for a Harrah's Cherokee Valley River Casino run, I have a trusty mechanic close by when/if I need it. I may just strategize a service visit or repair when I visit the casino just because I know I'll get great service and a fair shake. There are still some good folks out there, and I can vouch that these guys are of that group. Sincerely, Dr. Michael J. Grasso

From the moment I called until I picked up my car, I had a great experience with Gerard's. I initially spoke with Frank and then Brian took care of me throughout the process. You can tell that they value their work even down to the waiting area inside the shop. There were freshly baked cookies and everything was very neat and clean. I feel like you don't often see that in automotive shops. They accommodated me quickly and were able to solve the problem with my trunk and I am so happy that's it's fixed. I was initially quoted an exorbitant amount down in Florida to fix it and so I am very happy that I was able to find a shop with honest and reliable mechanics!! I will recommend them and will definitley be back in the future. Thank you for helping me, Brian & Frank!!

So when my wife's Tahoe started acting up I immediately called him to get some prices. I fully went to his shop and unloaded all the wife's stuff to get it ready to leave for him to get to it when he could. He was several weeks out and I was gonna have to figure out how to find the wife another form of transportation. He wanted to ride in it with me first and put it on his computer. He quickly told me after a short ride that it wasn't my transmission causing the shifting problem. After 30 min of research he was able to determine that my rear tires were more worn than the front and caused the rear to spin faster. And because the wife had it in auto, the computer couldn't figure out if it needed to be in 4 dr or 2 dr. Now anybody could have told me that it was the trans and I would have agreed. The vehicle had tell tale signs and was at about that mileage. But Brock was an honest man. I offered to pay him for his time and help. He refused.
