So when I adopted another kitten a month ago, I knew it was time to find a new vet. My other cat, who I adopted during the pandemic, has seen one other vet before and I wasn't a huge fan of them. I selected Light Street solely based off the glowing Yelp reviews. I felt at ease bringing both cats in for check-ups. I was also pleasantly surprised that despite their popularity, Light Street could fit me in within 2 weeks. The service from start to finish was great. They both got shots and the kitten got eye drops for a mild case of conjunctivitis. About a week later (today), I brought my older cat back for another appt because I had a hunch she had a cold or virus of some kind. I was seen the very next day after I called and the vet was quick to listen to my concerns and take her temperature. Lo and behold, she has a fever and was prescribed antibiotics. I am really grateful for Light Street's responsiveness and quick turnaround, especially when my cat's health was of immediate concern. I am also really grateful for their fair pricing. They've been generous with discounts each time I've visited and I've paid half as much as I have at my former vet for the same services. I would recommend Light Street to anyone in the area looking for a trustworthy vet.

And then when my Big Things go there to pick up more bad tasting stuff to shove down my throat, everyone says "how is Lord Poopington" as if they do not cower in fear at the thought of my making a return visit. All I know is that aside from telling the big things to get a yummy new food, what have they done for me? And anyways, my Big Things never Feed me. All I can say is I give this place 4 claws down. See below for details. All records/documents were provided (at the businesses request) in advance of the appointment, the front desk confirmed receipt of the same. We were told that they must review documents before our appointment time, no matter what. At the appointment, tech claimed they didn't receive any documents. I showed proof that this was untrue and had to explain my pets history to the tech. Later, when the veterinarian came into our room, she had not reviewed the history/documents provided nor been updated on anything by the tech. I was then advised to get my kitten a specific treatment and vaccine but I had to remind them she already had it done, which was in the records and history I already gave multiple times by now. If they had treated her without my reminder, my kitten could have become severely sick. Additionally, the staff did not seem concerned with how they physically handled my docile and sweet kitten. At the end of the appointment, there was no advice given for our situation but we were charged $100 to be seen. It was acknowledged that if they had reviewed the documents before the appointment, as they specified they would do, then the appointment was unnecessary. I recognize that there are specific protocols in place to keep staff safe but those protocols were extremely unnecessary in our situation. I wish they were more careful as my kitten was already injured and definitely not a threat in any capacity. Overall, I wish this place had treated us with more empathy and respect. It didn't seem like they cared about my kittens wellbeing and only cared about making some money.

Our cat was in desperate need of euthanasia and it happened abruptly - I phoned around that day and this was a vet who could come that same day. His fee quoted was $395 (I was ok with that) and an additional $295 as a new patient! Yes - a new patient who was going to be dead within hours of procuring the service. I'm scratching my head over this and cannot reconcile the - well, the unethical behavior -- The vet was kind and very professional - But this monetary component has left me with a very sour outlook. (I haven't even mentioned that I was told he would arrive at 6:30 --- was then phoned at 6 to confirm that he was on his way -- only to wait another 90 minutes (the location is 25 minutes from my home)). Save for this shady handling of fees, I would readily have considered using this vet in the future as it is closer to my home --- but not now. If I hadn't been so desperate to help my cat, I would have chosen another route.

When he is available, he checks in on our dog to see how he is doing. The treatment itself is administered, most of the time, by the technician who runs the desk. She does it all (at least on Saturdays). She checks people out, schedules appointments, gives laser treatments and clips nails. Every once in a while this can cause delays, like that one week where the lady was giving her pet's life story and running through her entire month schedule while trying to set up a follow up appointment. The line got three deep that time. That was an exception. The majority of the time we are in and out with our scheduled appointment. Overall, prices are reasonable and Dr. Bishop and his staff are personable and total animal people. That's exactly what I want from a veterinarian.

My only minor inconvenience was that they no longer carry Simparica Trio in-house, but we were able to find an alternative that worked for us. Then our little momo started to have allergies. It was very frightening and the staff and doctors have been wonderful to us. Unfortunately, we don't have pet insurance so $100 for a few allergy pills to prevent him from scratching his face and biting his paws until he bleeds is what it is. My cat, Amelia, has been having chronic flare ups of nausea, vomiting, and loss of appetite. As a…read morepet owner, nothing is more scary than seeing your baby not feeling well and being unable to pinpoint exactly what's wrong. I had taken her to another vet previously who couldn't find anything wrong after some standard blood work. They pretty much said "We don't know, could be pancreatitis maybe but not sure" and left it at that. So this weekend, I decided to try Doc-Side and brought Amelia in for an emergency visit around 12pm on Saturday. I had called in advance so they knew I was coming and allowed me to come in even though they close at 1:30pm on Saturdays. We were checked in and seated in a room immediately. The nurse came in and took down some basic info and did a quick check on Amelia. Then Dr. Tierney came in about 20-30 minutes later to perform a more in depth exam. Dr. Tierney performed the most detailed exam I've ever seen. Our other vet had barely done the type of physical checks I'd seen her perform. They then took her back for testing. The estimate for all recommended services was clearly explained to me and I didn't feel pressured into anything. I got a call on my way home that the pancreatitis test was negative. And then by Monday morning, I got a call saying her bloodwork hasn't revealed anything specific yet so we'll continue to do some tests to find out what the problem could be. That said, I have more confidence in Dr. Tierney than my other vet given the care and detail with which she approached the situation. She explained everything in depth and does her best to create a "no-fear" atmosphere for each pet. I would recommend taking notes or asking to record her as she is more of an auditory person than a note-taker.

I am visually impaired, so Dr. Anna, Kate and her vet tech took extra time to explain what they were doing in case I wasn't able to tell. They took extra time to tell me all of my different options to help my dog, who suffers from chronic allergies, and itches all the time. The cost of a checkup and the medication's are comparable to those of my local vet. The only additional charge is the travel fee. However, for me, it is definitely worth it because of the convenience. However, they also offer a program you can sign up for that helps to cover this cost. Dr. Anna Kate was kind enough to tell me a little about it during their visit today and I plan on looking into it. Dr. Anna, Kate, and Javier are both incredibly kind and compassionate and very professional. They answered all of my questions, and never once made me feel like they were rushing. Best Vet we've found in Baltimore!…read more To give some background: we used to take our dog Luna, a 1.5 yr Chihuahua that has congenital renal dysplasia and recurring pancreatitis, to Eastern Animal Hospital. Eastern was ok at first, until about a year ago, and are now just a disaster. There are so many Vets that work at that practice it's a different vet every time, there's not much personal empathy expressed by them, not much listening and understanding, no relationship with your pet...they're a machine: get your pet in and get them out. They still take forever, so it's for nothing anyway. Whenever you call for questions you're ALWAYS talking to a technician who doesn't have any background knowledge on your pet and *their history*. We are very thankful for the staff at Eastern, just not quite the right fit for us. We knew about Aardmore because it was geographically the closest vet to our house and we ended up rushing our cat there one day and had a good experience. We decided to start taking Luna there after that because of our bad experiences at Eastern. Wow, what a difference! We have taken Luna twice over the last couple of weeks and already have a great relationship with Dr. Tuckerman. She is wonderful. She is smart, understanding, and a great listener. She always remembers exactly who we are and who Luna is, and understands her unique medical history. We explained the treatment plan we had with Eastern and she already has helped us with some new treatment ideas and suggested a different prescription diet. She put in a prescription for us to have nausea medicine on-hand for when Luna's pancreatitis strikes and that's a lifesaver. This clinic is smaller than others and doesn't many, many vets, so its nice to always be able to see Dr. Tuckerman and be able to reach her. She really does care when she asks for updates on your pet. Alongside Luna's experience at Aardmore, our cat Tenley went in for a mass under his tongue. We worked with Dr. Pineau, and he was also kind and knowledgable and did an excellent job removing the mass. Tenley healed from surgery very quickly and easily and seems much healthier (and thank goodness the mass was benign). We are so glad that Aardmore is here in our community. They really WANT to help our pets and they make sure to take good care of us humans as well. For those of us that LOVE your pets, we are very serious about veterinary care, and we are very happy with Aardmore so far. Thank you Dr. Tuckerman and Dr. Pineau!
