I chose this Animal health provider when momo was diagnosed with diabetes. We started at Falls road Animal Hospital but the prices proved too steep. Then our little momo started to have allergies. It was very frightening and the staff and doctors have been wonderful to us. Unfortunately, we don't have pet insurance so $100 for a few allergy pills to prevent him from scratching his face and biting his paws until he bleeds is what it is. We have always felt MOMO is in good hands here-the doctors have every resource available and seem to be informed of current research. Fortunately, the billing department will consult with you prior to major things (like an overnight stay) so you have an idea of what you're getting into. I could probably find a vet for a little less money but we are very happy and we know to expect the best possible care for our pet and support for us as pawrents. read more

The quality of care has gone from good to unacceptable, I am moving my dogs from Belvedere. My dog had surgery there cost $1,100 to be spayed, she was not eating after for a couple of days, I took her back another $385 for 2 injections; then she started to bleed, I called and was told since she did not have an appointment I can't bring her back and I should find care in a pet ER. They were rude and no help when I needed it the most. I got into another vet Everheart and he took care of the problem in less than 20 mins. Belvedere never followed up. I have never encounter such money loving vets, they will take your money and leave you on your own if you have a problem and don't have an appointment. The staff needs customer service training, they all are there to collect a paycheck but they really don't care about your pet at the end of the day. read more

Always receive the best of care, whether it's an annual check up/vax appt (which my dog needs extra TLC to just "get thru") or specialized care for a chronic condition (kidney disease, Lyme, arthritis). Thoroughly disappointing. It is an expensive facility to start. They are quick to charge and prod you to take all the vaccines possible so that they can charge you some more. Yet, the premises are average at best. Worse, the folks are thoroughly unresponsive when you contact them. While I thought the vet was semi-decent in his treatment of my pup, he clearly did not listen when I said that my dog was not food motivated and needed alternative preventative medication for her heartworm medicine. When I went in, he stated that he could give her a prescription for a topical medicine. However, he completely forgot to give it when I was there. I had to write MULTIPLE emails to receive A prescription afterwards, and when I got it (and got a response at all), it was for an oral medication. These folks clearly do not pay attention. They simply do not care about you nor your dog. They clearly only care about their bottom line. You are better off going somewhere else where they listen to your dog's needs and are responsive to you. Suffice to say, I will NOT be returning there. read more

Our relationship Belevdere Animal Hospital has been one that is 30% success and 60% frustrations, all of it communication based. We get conflicting informatIon, we don't get call backs, our messages sometimes never make it beyond the front counter. And sometimes, they simply feel detached from what owners are going through. The two other families we referred to Belvedere, have left because of the same frustrations. Belvedere could really benefit by hiring a professional practice administrator who can help them with communication, and training. What they are doing right now isn't working. On the good side, Dr. Elian is always wonderful. She's only reason why we stick with them. If you decide to go there, take notes of who you speak with, and make sure the that everyone is on the same page. read more

We have been taking all of our animals to Belvedere for about 2 years now. We see Dr Moulder every time, and we ADORE him, like honestly cannot say enough about what a genuinely kind, caring, and understanding vet he is. I have had animals my entire life, and I have been to many vets, and never have I encountered someone who gives off such good vibes. We just love him. The staff are all very competent, efficient, and willing to work with the million schedule changes we always have. Between two work schedules, two kids, and four animals, we have a lot going on, and they are so accommodating of us, even when we change our appointment time a million times. We have two pit bulls with high energy levels, a scaredy cat who hates the vet, and a poodle mix who can be aggressive and needs to have monthly vet appointments for a continuing medical issue. They are understanding of our dogs, and have never ever guilted me about jumping, slobbery pit bulls, a hissing cat under a table, or a growling muzzled poodle who clearly hates them. They get it. They don't expect perfect pets, and as a mom of very imperfect ones, we really appreciate that. When my cat of 17 years, who was my best friend, had to be put down, they were so kind to me, and allowed me to stay in the room with him for a very, very long time to say my goodbyes. I was a hysterical mess, and they were so gentle with me. Truly, this vet is full of just genuinely good humans. read more

After having very negative experiences with my last vet, Belvedere was a breath of fresh air. My pup was a rescue and had heartworm so she is very afraid of being left at the vet. The team there has been so amazing at letting her warm up to them. They even did her first exam on the ground to make her more comfortable! When it matters I either get a rude response, or no response. They are not clear regarding prescription location (paper waiting for me or called it into the pharmacy). Katerina, nurse, or tech, is rude and does not want to help you if it's below her pay grade. She will talk back and yell at you. The veterinarian does not respond same day to urgent messages, however he is very nice. I would not recommend this place. The only person I would say does a good job is Ariana who answers phones. At least she is pleasant and does her due diligence. Honestly this review is 2 years in the making. I'm sad to report this, but it needs to be said. read more

While I love the care and concern that Dr. Molinelli provided my rescue dog - adopted at 15 and in a severely neglected state - I strongly recommend that the practice invest in customer service training, and in ensuring that every customer, regardless of background, gets treated equally. I have had two extremely unprofessional, unpleasant encounters with one of their "lead" client representatives who would interrupt while I was speaking, who bullishly threatened me with sharing the recording of our conversation with his manager, as though I were one of his co-workers, and not a paying customer. I don't know if he treats everyone with the same level of arrogance and unprofessionalism, but I felt dismissed and, talked down to. As much as I love Dr. Molinelli and the utmost gentle care she provided to my now soon to be 17 year old rescue, I would not return to a practice where customers who spend an average of $250 - $300+ a visit get treated so badly. read more

We have 2 beautiful older dogs (20 years and a 14 years old). We have recently relocated to MD and changed 3 Vets before we established care at Belvedere Vet. They have been very helpful, kind and understanding. friendly staff. They take care of my elderly dogs and fit us in quickly when needed. Told us that our dog has an infected tooth that need surgery-- pre surg lab work would be $200 and the surgery $1700, much higher than other vets we've talked to. Also bc my husband was pushing back on whether the lab work was necessary wrote in her note and I'm quoting "Does not want to run pre-anesthetic bloodwork before dental and is OK if she does not survive the procedure." HIs point was was that her examples of rare things of which there is no indication our dog has that they would find on the bloodwork were things that were more dangerous to her life than the tooth in the first place. He's a physician and was clearly trying to make a point that was lost on her, would never take a pet back to a place that did not understand we want our dog to survive their incredibly overpriced tooth extraction. read more

I visited with my puppy Remington yesterday for vaccinations. I met with Dr. Almstaden. She is the owner. I have a 14week old golden puppy who weighs 26lbs. Gaining slow and steadily. I feed him 3/4 c of food 3x a day. Plus lots of treats for training. I don't follow exactly the hovan weight for golden retrievers but I do watch his weight closely to pre ent hip dysplasia which is prevelant in goldens. I have 3 dogs, a cat, rats, bunnies... on board of an animal shelter. Love animals. Dedicate my life to them. Dr. Almstaden walks in exam room and tells me to feel my puppy.. she proceeds to tell me at least 10 Times that I am STARVING him! She tells me that he's starving and criticized how much I'm feeding him. She also told me that if I didn't like what she had to say I could see her other vets or go to a different place. I told her what my concerns for Remington were, cancer bc I've lost a young golden and dysplasia. She said I wasn't knowledgeable after I told her I was a nurse, my spouse is a doctor, I try my best to read as much as I can about animals specifically goldens since my loss of my last one was huge.. after she berated me, made me hysterically cry she kept throwing more digs at me. She was completely inappropriate, rude, and disrespectful., she said, how would I know you were knowledgeable I can't read that on your face? I said you shouldn't assume I'm not. It was such a terrible day, I left crying, felt so bad for my dog as if I was causing harm.... my breeder reassured me that Remington was at The perfect weight of 26lbs as he is in a similar range to his litter mate that she kept who is 23lbs., I then looked at the hovan study for goldens and he is well above average weight.... I will NEVER recommend this vet. Dr Kauder and Dr. Moulder are wonderful and I've had nothing but great experiences with both of them. read more

wow. don't go here. Dr. Elianne was supposed to give 2 vaccines to my 2 cats. Instead, my bill included a $68 charge for a "physical exam" to ? stare at my cat that was too upset to even approach closely, not to mention vaccinate. Was going to charge me $100s of dollars to sedate him to tolerate the vax and waste 2 additional hours of my life after I was already sitting in the parking lot for 2 hrs. + $33 for subcutaneous fluids b/c he'll get AKI bc he won't drink while sedated? Lady. I get AKI when I don't drink for 12 hrs on my ICU shift too. Which brings me to the ridiculous continued policy of keeping owners away from pets during the exam. News flash, according to CDC, COVID is over. We're all vaccinated. Wearing masks. Don't act like your life is in danger, homie-- just a cop out. Basically, you'll overpay for a job that's underperformed, and you have to stay vigilant to not get swindled hardcore. read more

I began bringing our newly adopted dog here after the original practice we had gone to closed temporarily. Both he and I LOVE it. I never feel rushed, they take the time to answer my questions, provide necessary information regarding the visit, and have copious amounts of peanut butter to keep our puppy occupied. I was referred to this Vet by a friend of mine who takes her dog here. I also was happy to use the credit voucher offered by Yelp too! We just moved to the area a few months ago and our dog was past due on her annual exam. I didn't want to go to a Vet Hospital/Practice, as they tend to be more $$. So i was glad we found this place and its very close to our home also. Dr Amstalden and her staff were very helpful and kind. Dr Amstalden asked a lot of questions, was able to give good advice and instructions on certain conditions my dog is dealing with and even followed up the next day to check in and see how Lucy was doing - as she received a few shots. I'm going back in 2 weeks for her booster shots and am glad that its something I'm looking forward to. As I think Lucy is too, everyone there really enjoyed her and commented how well behaved she was :) bonus! read more

I moved to Baltimore in the summer and dreaded having to find a new vet. My 8 year old ACD mix is a rescue who does not trust strangers and does not like being approached or touched by strangers very much either. Her last vet was very patient and helpful and really helped us out when it came to having to get Raina to comply with what needed to be done. I saw that BVC had great reviews and was close to my home so I decided to make an appointment. The vet tech and Dr. Amstalden were super helpful. Although Raina did not like getting touched at all they were patient and told us exactly what to do to keep her distracted and comforted. It is not often that I can find a vet so thoughtful and caring and we appreciated the extra time that Raina needed just to get comfortable. I really enjoyed the care that we got and look forward to her next visit. read more

my dog has been to the vet due to illness twice in her 13-year life. the second time was earlier this week, when i made a day-of appointment at Belvedere. i was beyond relieved to find they were able to fit me in. the staff who answered my call took down a lot of details, and the staff were prepared when i got to the clinic. nice and clean clinic, very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Dr. Moulder was assigned our case, and he was thorough and informative. the vet assistant was also incredibly informative. i felt like i was part of the process of diagnosis and treatment. the treatment plan recommended was complete without going overboard. and my dog is already quickly improving. my friend and i did a quick comparison of pricing between Belvedere and her clinic, and we've found them comparable. and they have Saturday appointments! read more

We just moved to Baltimore after living in South Africa for 4 years. My 10 year old rescue dog has multiple issues that need ongoing supervision and I was interested in connecting with a vet right away. I found Dr. Elianne and the Belvedere Veterinary Center on Yelp and the practice lives up to their reviews. The staff is incredibly friendly and was very good with my sometimes skittish dog. Dr. Elianne was very thorough in her assessment of my dog and worked with me to come up with a plan to manage his heart murmur in a way I could afford. Just today, I needed a last minute vaccine in order to board my dog for Christmas. I called and even though they were fully booked, they worked us in and saved our travel schedule. This was only our second visit today and yet we were greeted by name as we walked through the door. This "special treatment" was something I had received from my wonderful vets in Tucson but I had been going to them for years. To get worked in on the same day in only our second interaction was unexpected and highly appreciated. Nice little touches such as fabric covering the metal examining tables, follow up correspondence that prints out the key notes from our conversation etc, really shows that they care about my guy and and his comfort. I have worked in animal rescue for years and met many dedicated, talented vets. Dr. Elianne has those qualities plus runs a very professional practice in a beautiful facility. We are so happy we switched to this practice. We used to take our dog and two cats to one of the bigger vet practices in the area, which for some reason is often recommended, but in reality is a pretty assembly line place that gets you in and out but not much more. Finding a vet who takes time with your pet and truly seems to care has been amazing, and we finally got a real solution to an allergy problem that hadn't been properly diagnosed or treated for years. Not only that - she actually follows up to make sure things are going well, and remembers what's going on with your pet. Scheduling has always been easy and we've gotten in when we need to without missing work. It's a solo practice so we have had to wait at times - though not always. The office staff have always been exceptionally friendly and helpful. Dr. Almstaden is an amazing, caring vet who I highly recommend to anyone looking for more than just vaccinations. read more

We had just moved to Baltimore and my cat was in desperate need of a nail trimming, but I was a little hesitant to do so because she had such a difficult time adjusting to the move and had not been in the best spirits... or the most friendly. We went ahead and scheduled an appointment where they also went ahead and did a wellness examination. Just as I had expected, our cat was not happy. It took 2 techs, the doctor, and a towel to get the job done, but they were extremely patient, understanding, and calm during the visit. The doctor explained to me how it can take some time for the cat to adjust to a new home and surroundings and how to handle the situation. She explained her own situations when moving with cats which made it easier knowing that it was common. The team at Belvedere offered suggestions on products (like pheromone releasing colors and infusers) that would help with the adjustment and how I, myself, should react to help our cat stay calm and feel welcomed in her new home. I left the appointment feeling hopeful. Two months later, our cat is back to normal. She is due for a shot in September, so hoping it runs smoothly this time, but we are glad we are with Belvedere Veterinary Center. read more

I waited a while before writing this review because my experience with this vet was so emotionally exhausting. I started taking my dog here early 2020 where I had a pleasant first visit with a vet who was only there short term so I never saw her again unfortunately. Every visit from there forward was not pleasant. My first bad experience here was for a double ear infection. The medicine used caused my dog to go deaf which I was told after a follow up visit that it seemed to be permanent damage. Dr. Elianne's response to that was pretty much just "oh sorry, it happens". She was completely nonchalant about it and overall just insensitive. Not to mention this visit/meds cost almost $300. Luckily after about 3 months of complete deafness, he did regain some of his hearing. After that, I gave them the benefit of the doubt and continued to take him there. Jumping forward to the Fall of 2020, my dog broke a tooth which needed to be surgically removed. I had a completely horrible feeling the morning I dropped him off and just knew he wasn't in good hands. A few hours after dropping him off, I get a call from Dr. Elianne telling me his heart almost stopped on the table so they gave him rescue drugs, woke him up and did not perform the surgery (when they put him under, his heart rate started rising so he was given an additional sedative to slow his heart which caused it to almost stop which is when they gave him adrenaline). I was told I could pick him up later that day but they wanted to keep him there to monitor him. I called their office a couple hours after the initial call to see how he was doing. The girl at the front desk places me on hold to go "speak to a nurse" and get me an update. She comes back to say "I just spoke to a nurse and they told me Cody's surgery went very well. He's in recovery now and doing great". So not only did she lie to me about speaking to someone, she completely made up a story that the surgery went well and that he was okay. When I told her what happened and that it was clear she didn't talk to anyone, she places me on another hold and comes back to say "oh sorry all the nurses are in surgery". Which made me wonder how often they're just lying to people and giving out false information just to get them off the phone. I picked him up several hours later where I was given an almost $500 bill for a surgery that didn't happen and for a completely traumatic experience where I almost lost my dog. I just wanted to get him home so I paid the bill and left. Later that evening I get a call from the doctor. I had several questions about what happened and she acted completely annoyed that she even had to answer the questions for me, even saying to me "I don't know what to tell you, that's medicine." And while I was crying about being afraid of him not making it through the night she replies "well sleep with one eye open." Her tone with me was rude, condescending and completely cold. She has zero bed side manner and I truly wonder if she even cares about these animals. I ended up having to take him to the ER that night because of horrible/terrifying side effects from all the drugs he was given. After that, I spoke to a couple different people including the office manager to express how unhappy I was with Dr. Elianne and the entire experience that I had and they refused to refund anything which was the very least they could do considering the situation. To make matters worse, I had several vets look over the drugs he was given that day and they all noted that the combination of drugs used was not advisable especially given his age, and the entire thing could have been avoided simply by giving him fluids when his heart rate started rising rather than the additional sedative the doctor used. This was proven when he successfully had his surgery with my new vet a couple months after this ordeal. Overall I am disgusted with this vet. They are unprofessional, have terrible bedside manner, are money hungry and insensitive. I would never take my dog back there or recommend them to anyone. read more

They politely agree but obviously nothing changes because I still repeat myself every time. I have been taking my Dog Rocko here since he was 3 months. He's now nearly 2. The staff is always very friendly and love to see him. He's a very high energy French Bulldog and I always feel comfortable taking him here. They never make me feel like he's too unruly or wild. Dr. Molder has been really good with him. He's very friendly and knowledgeable and even if I'm just coming in to see a nurse for something quick, if Dr. Moulder is there he'll still pop in to see Rocko. I've since moved 40 mins away from the vet, but will still travel the extra distance to take him here because I trust them. I highly recommend Belvedere Vet Center and Dr. Moulder. read more

So I waited a few months and a couple visits in order to give a fair review. My wife and I adopted an American pitbull terrier from Montgomery county rescue in June and all our appointments have been done at Belvedere. We've had 3 vet visits and one prescription refill. The staff, nurses and doctors are amazing. Everyone has been patient and loving with our Nova who is high energy and new to training and socialization. Side note: I work at the Center for Veterinary Medicine HQ so I have the ears of plenty veterinarians who I have ran my experiences by and they all say Belvedere is consistent in pricing and services with industry guidelines. They're super flexible for walk ins as well. A last minute trip required dog boarding but they wouldn't take our dog without a canine flu shot; Belvedere gave us a same day appt for the shot. The only knock I can say as I've seen in some other reviews is communication on pricing beforehand. My first visit was quoted as one price over the phone and was triple when I left. The prices were fair add ons but it would have been nice to know about possible additional charges prior to my visit to avoid sticker shock and have finances ready. Recently moved here from Chgo. and Belvedere Vet Center was my 3rd clinic visit in 5 weeks. As soon as we met the receptionists, the technicians, and our new vet, I knew we had found the right place for us. My Bernese Mountain dog has had to adjust to many changes in the past few months and also needs surgery. Dr. Kauder answered all of my questions, made me, as well as my dog, feel extremely comfortable, and was empathetic and kind. Dr. Elianne is by far the best primary care vet that our cats--in all of their travels (Brooklyn, Indianapolis, Baltimore)--have seen. She has a way of calming them down during what is, for them, an obviously stressful and confusing experience. We've been so happy with the care Dr. Elianne and all the staff have given to our rescue dog. He has a rough past, and has a few issues. Dr. Elianne is patient and totally willing to get on the floor for the exam, and has so many other tricks to soothe him and get the treatment done. I find their prices to be competitive with other local vets (I'm sure there are some that are cheaper, but not sure I'd trust them) but BVC's facility and customer service are unsurpassed. I recently moved to Baltimore and was dreading finding a new vet for my two rescue kitties. I read great reviews for BVC on Yelp and decided to try them out when one of my kitties developed a mouth abscess. I absolutely loved working with Dr. Amstalden - she described what was going on with my kitty physiologically, which I appreciated since I have a biology background. Thor was also such a pleasure to work with. I can tell he really loves working with animals and treated my kitty like she was his own. The BVC facility is really nice, clean, and pet-friendly. The prices for visits and lab/blood work are on the more expensive side, but the service is outstanding and totally worth a little splurging. read more
