Our vet recommended a total ear canal ablation (TECABO) surgery but he stated he did not do those surgeries. Here in NC I did research and the price would have been 6k. So I went online and found Dr. Parker preformed that surgery. I call the hospital and the receptionist answered all my questions and sent me the forms to fill out. The price was a third of what it would be here in NC. I scheduled the appt and Dr Parker called the week before to go over the procedure, the risks and after care. Speaking with Dr Parker relieved a lot of my stress and concerns. My trip took 3 days total and the staff and Dr Parker were so helpful in every way possible but mostly with the wonderful care they gave to my sweet boy Russell. When I went to pick him up he had his paws around JoAnn's neck and didn't want to let go of her and that tells you everything about the care he received. Russell recovered very quickly from the surgery and had no post op issues whatsoever. I am so grateful to the staff and Dr. Parker. I would highly recommended Dr. Parker and Howard County Animal Hospital for any of your pets medical needs. Margie O. and Russell in NC

The first emergency hospital I took Percy to said that he would need surgery costing $8000-$10,000 and they cautioned me that the outcome was very uncertain. I couId not afford this price yet I did not want to lose my dog. Searching around on the internet I found Howard County Animal Hospital. What a blessing. The cost was significantly more reasonable, and the surgery was a complete success. Percy was back to being his old self in no time, no complications at all. Dr. Parker and all the staff at Howard County Animal Hospital were both caring and friendly and at the same time very professional. I highly recommend them.

Love Those Paws - I am taking a rest after a long dog walk

Despite me typing up a whole instruction sheet, he insisted on walking through again just to be sure (which is very reassuring). The actual pet sitting was spectacular. The pet sitter who was assigned was Kim. She spent plenty of time with the cats and made sure they were well cared for while I was away. The visit reports they leave are really cute as well. Could not have gone smoother! I'd also like to add that they were available with very short notice (3 other pet sitting companies were unable to handle our request). Also want to add that Stewart (when he came for the home visit) was wearing a mask and gloves to protect against COVID (a welcome sight). Pet owners would should have their minds at ease if they select Love Those Paws. If I go on vacation again (few and far between these days) I would definitely use them again!

The sitters vary but all are enthusiastic based on the reports they leave. After every visit the sitter leaves a note of when they came and left and what they did. They also usually text us an update and a picture of our birds. We come back to a stack of reports. The sitter stays a while after the food, water, and paper are changed to make sure the birds aren't acting weird, and I hear that some singing goes on. We've never had a problem and have be accommodated at very short notice when we want to go away for the weekend. I highly recommend this company. 1/27/20 Update: Just used them again during a ten day trip to Hawaii. I'm pretty sure our birds are in love with Alex, who came for most oF the visits. Now they are just stuck with us. As always, a great experience and we love being able to travel without any worries.

Our family has been through a lot with Countryside Vet!…read more It is hard to find a vet that is comfortable examining exotics, let alone performing a surgery. Countryside not only performed a surgery to remove one of my guinea pig's eyes, but was also extremely caring and compassionate when pre-existing issues slowed the healing process. Countryside was again very sympathetic and kind when another of our guinea pigs passed away. We also have a senior dog that we have learned so much more about since bringing her to Countryside. Since we have had such a variety of veterinary needs, I think we have gotten to speak with each of the vets that work at Countryside and I would trust them all with my pets. Each vet takes the time to educate us on the issue and provide more information if needed. Every other staff member has very kind and friendly to us! I can see why someone would say their services are somewhat pricey, but you are paying for quality care. I know they are not here to take advantage of concerned pet-parents. Countryside had plenty of opportunities to overcharge me for follow-up visits or products, but were instead always compassionate and showed they genuinely cared about my pet's health. They also have an app and rewards program - which helps! I appreciate Countryside and the care they have given to our family so much, I continue using them even since moving out of the area. I absolutely recommend them for their amazing service from the vets and staff!

Since then he has hired another vet that doesn't communicate well and just came into the room with a whole bunch of vaccines and started injecting my cat! I told him she most likely already had the rabies one and he still gave it to her. Now she's head bounces around when I reach out to pet her. It's neurological damage from getting it 1 too many times. Recently took my dog in to have a few things looked at. Appointment went well but walked out $440 poorer. Now I call to get a spot removed on that same dogs' hip and the vet tech said the spot on her face or hip? I paused and said her hip. I started to ask why she asked about her face since nothing is wrong with her face. She said she was just asking. I started to try and confirm she had the right records pulled up and she put me on hold...I thought she had hung up on me. I called back and was out on hold again for 3 minutes. The same vet tech got on the phone and I tried to ask if she had the correct record and she started interrupting me. I said I was talking and to let me finish. She says "Oh my" and put me on hold! I hung up and tried to call back and now they won't answer. This is just two incidents out of a few that I've had and this was the final straw. I'm going elsewhere.

Not well received…read more While Dr. Nesbitt and the tech that took care of my cat appeared to be knowledgeable, during my first and last visit, the same tech accused me of stealing services/attempting to leave without paying. When I asked if I misunderstood the accusation, the response from the front desk was that people do steal and the accusation of potential theft was not because of my race (I am a black woman). I never brought up my race, and previously I did not linked my race to the accusation. I was hoping to speak to leadership about how the situation was handled, but they were too busy to address the issue initially, and offered to call me. They could have called/contacted me if I had actually left without paying as they had all of my contact information. I finally spoke to Dr. Nesbitt once her employee yelled at me, stating that I could just leave and somewhere else (of course I had already paid). Not the best way to start my Friday. But I will find another vet and I suggest you do the same. I spoke with them and this post because people have to do better with their unconscious bias. It steals the joy out of people's day and chips away at humanity, kindness, and the happiness that human interactions can bring. Especially with pet lovers.
