They told me they could not see her right away but recommended I take her to an urgent care. I was surprised, because isn't that the reason you have a relationship in the first place, for when there's an emergency, to get her seen? It turns out she was diagnosed with diabetes and then had to go to another place for an overnight at the Cat hospital. I was told she should be seen by her regular vet for follow up. Everhart was unable to give me a follow up appointment other than having come in all day and stay in a crate to be seen. I did that, which severely traumatized her.It also made her blood sugar, skyrocket, which is exactly the condition I was coming into have get better, not worse. A few weeks later, she developed breathing problems. I again called Everhart during normal business hours explained the situation and was told I could not bring her in. They said "we are closing soon", even though I live five minutes away and they were still open for another hour. They told me repeatedly how shortstaffed they were because one vet was out on maternity leave and another was on her honeymoon. I'm sorry, this is a staffing issue that was completely foreseen and should have been planned for in advance. I ended up taking her to the emergency room, had an absolutely traumatizing five hours there. One of the questions was what is her regular vet and when I told them it was Everhart, they said "oh yeah, we've been getting a lot of their people here." Long story short, my cat was so traumatized by that experience, and I was so discouraged by the complete lack of access to non-traumatizing medical care (which should have been provided by her regular vet, with whom I had a relationship going back to 2017), that I made the difficult decision to have her put down at home. she died in my arms. Everhart failed me in the most important three weeks of my cat's life. Don't let them fail you and your cat. Go elsewhere.

Sadly, I feel like this place just gets more and more expensive as time passes. For example, our…read moredog needed to get a shot and the price for fast paws went from $5 to $10.30?!?! Was Everhart bought out by a corporate consolidator which jacked the prices so incredibly high?? I really liked this practice. I referred so many friends to this practice because I held them in high regard, but now I am hesitant to do that....

They are usually very busy so be prepared for that but it's worth it. They have at least 2-3 front desk personnel that know their job and know your pet. The longest that I have ever had to wait is 5 minutes. They kindly and quickly greet you, get you checked in, and let the vet tech know that you are there. Then, off to get weighed and back to the room. It's very clean too. The vet, Dr. Steinberg was amazing! He took his time with my little girl and made sure that I understood next steps and reassured me that I could call anytime with questions. Jasmine and Michelle and wonderful too! I can't say enough good things about Bayside. Very thankful.

The care I received was subpar. Dr. Buchanan was not available I had an urgent situation. I saw Dr. Oliver. She recommended an unnecessary x-ray for my dog when you could clearly that he had no problems walking. initially I was upset that there may have been an issue but as the day went on by the time my appointment my dog was running and was fine apparently his leg was bruised however she ordered it anyway Ching Ching and of course nothing was wrong. upsetting part was that she ordered it before she even saw my dog! When she came into the room to tell me that nothing wrong she was telling me how to pick him up? How to handle him? what. when checking out she ordered two prescriptions for pain. My dog was not in pain! And I didn't request it. So basically I took my dog in for nothing and it cost $353. When I called the next day to file complaint I was blocked by the receptionist Dawn Sunstorm who made it very clear that she was in charge she was the supervisor and the complaint had to go through her. When I told her I would like the email of the owner she was very hesitant very defensive and became very angry and argumentative simply because I did not want to disclose my complaint with her. I told her that I did not want to take the chance that she would share it with a person I had to complaint with and nothing would be done. I imagine this is what caused her to get irate . I kept my composure but she interrupted me would not let me speak and then hung up on me. Either way I was the person that was upset and she could care less as a matter of fact the second time I called she had me on hold for quite some time obviously she knew it was me. And when she got on the phone without even saying hello and without me saying a word said that she didn't like my attitude and that she is banning me from coming back canceled me out of the system and said she had my email and would email the records! Still hadn't said a word at this point. She continued to say that she has the authority to do what she wants to do. This is outrageous to me and I can't imagine that someone would treat someone that way when they're the ones that pay her paycheck check. I'm glad to know that they do not need me as a client. I've spent thousands of dollars there and I've been with them for quite some time. Thank God there are plenty of Vets out there but I will miss Dr. Buchanan. I drove 2 1/2 hours to make that appointment. Absolutely zero respect. because she's been there for years her arrogance and her controlling nature appears to be overlooked!

I have wrestled for days about writing this review. I rarely write reviews but feel compelled to…read morenow. On March 26, 2025, I had to let one of my precious Bichons go. He was given a sedative first then the final shot. He was comfortably lying in my arms. When the sedative was given, he screamed, I cried uncontrollably. My Husband was also present and visibly shaken. In my 74 years I have given many dogs back to God. This was the first time I had experienced this. The Vet said he moved, and the shot went into his muscles. I did not hear this that day, my Husband told me later. Weeks later I questioned the Vet and was told the same. On September 18, 2025, I lost another of my precious Bichons. Again, he was in my arms, my Husband said with his eyes closed because he trusted me. The sedative was given; he screamed. This protocol is unacceptable and cruel not only to my babies but also for my Husband and me. The Vet said that day he always cried with injections. Five days before this we were in the ER with this pup, and he had an injection and did not make a sound. I have been haunted daily by these screams. Letting a dog go is traumatic enough without having to experience something like this. Not only once but twice in six months. UPDATE: While I appreciate only some of your response (below) to my review, Dr. Levitsky being the Owner of Healing Paws. They do not even come close to closure for my Husband and I after witnessing what should have been a peaceful and dignified transition for both Tyler and Tigger. I could possibly accept, maybe, just maybe if only one of my boys had screamed but not both. This was not rare! I have had a total of 15 dogs in my lifetime. And of these precious dogs I was with them at the end just like Tyler and Tigger. Not ONE screamed, NOT one. Tyler and Tigger were the only two that Dr. Key performed the sedatives on and the anesthesia. A peaceful transition for both were my only "needs". I really do not know what you are talking about as far as policy, etc. and find these comments to my review par for the course as well as amusing. I spent 20K there in a little over 2 1/2 years, you were well compensated. I only came back to Healing Paws in 2023 because of Dr. Key. I left in 2019 for numerous reasons that were unprofessional of you and your staff. I am terribly sorry I returned. I could go on and will update this as necessary.

I found this to be a much better option! My dog feels much more comfortable because she is at home, and Dr. Anna, Kate and her vet tech, Javier, are both amazing. As I mentioned, I am disabled. I am visually impaired, so Dr. Anna, Kate and her vet tech took extra time to explain what they were doing in case I wasn't able to tell. They took extra time to tell me all of my different options to help my dog, who suffers from chronic allergies, and itches all the time. The cost of a checkup and the medication's are comparable to those of my local vet. The only additional charge is the travel fee. However, for me, it is definitely worth it because of the convenience. However, they also offer a program you can sign up for that helps to cover this cost. Dr. Anna Kate was kind enough to tell me a little about it during their visit today and I plan on looking into it. Dr. Anna, Kate, and Javier are both incredibly kind and compassionate and very professional. They answered all of my questions, and never once made me feel like they were rushing. They took their time with my dog, and we're very loving with her. I highly recommend this mobile vet service. You will not find two more compassionate and amazing people than Dr. Anna Kate and Javier! (I tried to take a selfie with them, but did not realize my phone was on portrait mode. So they appear kind of blurry. Blind girl problems!)
