Mixed Experience - Great Massage, But Pricing Was Misleading…read more I made an appointment over the phone and spoke directly with the owner Sonja. I asked how much a 2-hour massage would cost, and she told me $120. She was very friendly and accommodating with the time slot I requested. On the day of the appointment, her sister Lisa was assigned to do the massage. Lisa did an excellent job--the massage itself was relaxing and professional. However, when it came time to pay, I was told the cost was $160, not the $120 I had been quoted. I explained that I had spoken with the owner, but Lisa said, "Oh no, you had a 2-hour deep tissue massage--that's $160." I was surprised by the $40 difference, especially since I had only brought $190 with me. I ended up giving a $30 tip and left, but I felt misled. I even took a photo of their posted prices: 30 min - $50 60 min - $80 90 min - $110 Based on that pricing structure, a 120-minute massage should logically be around $140, not $160. This inconsistency is the reason I'm writing this review. I've referred this place to many people because of the quality of the massages, but this experience has made me lose trust. I will never go back! I hope they clarify their pricing and ensure better communication moving forward.

I had Mike as my bodyworker today and I have to say that it was one of the most thorough and amazing massages I've had in a LONG time. That being said- I just want you to know that this is a no-frills and straight to the point service. If you're looking for a fluffy massage in an actual spa..... this is NOT the place for you. It's a little noisy, especially since the "door" to your room is a curtain. They also speak very little English. But they are SO kind and give amazing service! The massage I was given was definitely not a traditional Swedish massage but more of a targeted, deep, therapeutic service. I did 90 mins and that consisted of massage with hot stones, hot towels and a lovely foot massage! I literally just got home 10 mins ago from there and I can barely keep my head up, lol. Im going to sleep SO well tonight!! Definitely give them a try. Affordable prices, REAL therapeutic massage (none of that fluff and buff stuff) anddddd every 10th massage is FREE!!

The building which houses this spa is pretty simple, however the decor of the spa itself is very warm and relaxing. The owner, Kathy, was wonderful and very good at what she does. I was in pain when I walked in but very relaxed when I walked out. She continuously asked how I was doing and how each method she used was feeling. She has plenty of experience and a great deal of compassion for her clients. I have gotten some decent massages in NE CT, but wanted to try to find a great one. Well, thanks to Heather at Renew, I did! Let's face it, it's a weird thing to meet someone for 2 minutes, then enter a room, strip down, and lay on a table. Well, at least it is for me (to each his or her own). But, Heather made the experience super comfortable. She has a nice energy and I felt at ease. That's all well and good, but her hands, though? Her hands are...magic. She asked for my pressure preference, checked on my comfort, and had at it with my knots. I was locked up pretty good in my shoulders and hamstrings thanks to a new workout routine. When I left, my muscles were loose and my tension was gone. The outside looks like what it is - an old brick professional building. I thought it was pretty cool, actually. Then, I was impressed with how inside the spa was decorated. It was gorgeous! I loved the colors and details in the massage room. I completely forgot I was essentially in a small office building. So, if you are in the general area and need a great massage, check this place out. The rates are reasonable even without a Groupon. I'm looking forward to booking my next appointment.
