I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Ivey and Peace for Pets. She did a spectacular job from beginning to end. She has such a gentle, loving approach and we felt truly cared for. She was able to come at the very last minute for us when we really needed her, her rates were reasonable and it was worth every single penny and more. My animal was loved and comforted until the very end and passed on while in our lap getting tons of love from the people he loved most in this world. It was so comfortable and so peaceful and was honestly the best experience we could have ever hoped for. I will refer Dr. Ivey to everyone I know. read more

Words cannot express how thankful my family is for Dr. Ivey! She came to our home and gently guided our beloved dog Conan across that darned "Rainbow Bridge". She was so kind, patient and compassionate and took her time and made sure we were ready to say goodbye. It was one of the most difficult decisions made so much easier by her calm, loving demeanor! She even called us a month later to see how we were doing and asked if we needed to talk. Thank you Dr. Ivey, you are the best! read more

i am so grateful for Dr Ivey and her services. Allowing us to cater to our 15 yr old dog with mobility issues until his final moments. He was still eating bacon and licking Ice cream while the sedation meds were administered. He felt absolutely nothing but pleasure from eating whatever he wanted until he fell asleep licking ice cream. Dr. Ivey gave us all time with our sedated dog and when we told her "ok" she proceeded. she also gave us as much time as we needed after. Thank you Dr Ivey! this was the hardest decision to make and your services helped us through this process. I highly recommend her services. read more

Dr. Ivey is the vet you want for this difficult decision. She is so compassionate, kind, and makes a terrible day just a little bit easier. The heartbreak is acute, but knowing that we could let our beloved pup of 10 years go where he was comfortable, safe, and with us... made it easier to say goodbye. Thank you, Dr. Ivey. read more

A 100 stars. Dr Ivey was so accommodating and compassionate, and 1000x's better than driving to a vet. This was our first pet ever (Charlea the pug) to put down and glad it was in our home. She was awesome during a very difficult family time. She explained everything, on time, texted with updates, was so gentle and caring, gave us as much time as we needed, did not rush, and was so wonderful. She had a nice basket with blanket to carry him out in. Thank you again....you were spectacular. read more

Dr Ivey provided the essential services I needed to my elderly poodle, Barbara Joan Streisand. Barbie's journey across the rainbow bridge was a painless float in her most secure comfy bed with me cuddled right next to her in perfect stress free peace. Barbie was asleep as usual when Dr Ivey arrived and Dr Ivey was superior in her patience. Barbie I am sure woke up on the other side bounding with pain free joy read more

Dr. Ivey made one of the most difficult emotional experiences my family has been through go as smoothly as it could have, and I'm extremely grateful for that. You can tell she is meant to be doing this work and is truly focused on providing peace to those she serves. I have recently recommended her to a friend and would recommend her to anyone. read more

Putting down my dog and companion of 16 years was one of the hardest things I've had to do in my life and I couldn't imagine saying goodbye in a better way thanks to Dr. Ivey. I could feel her warmth and compassion from my first phone call with her. She did everything to make the gut wrenching experience painless for my dog and also for me. Today marks exactly six months since our girl crossed the rainbow bridge and yet I'm still having difficulty as I write this. Thanks to Dr. Ivey, Delilah Blue left this world with dignity and in peace. Letting her go was the hardest decision I've had to make in my life but with the patience and guidance from the lovely Dr. Ivey I was also at peace with my decision. I would highly recommend Peace for Pets to handle the home-going of your beloved pet. I can't say enough great things about Dr. Ivey. She was soft-spoken, empathetic and treated our Delilah like she was the only pet in the world. The entire process was seamless and easy, all done form the comfort of our home. We were provided adequate time to say our goodbyes before and after she was gone. Dr. Ivey took her away with dignity. We also received the nicest hand-written note after all was said and done. Thank you Dr. Ivey for taking such good care of not only our Delilah Blue but my family as well! I can't thank you enough! read more

If you're reading this review; I'm sorry you are going thru the hardest time a pet owner has to face. When it came time to putting my beloved Bebe to rest and end her suffering, I reached out to Dr Ivey and felt a sense of care and understanding just thru the phone. She is very sweet, caring and the best person i can ask for at a difficult time. Dr Ivey was responsive to my phone calls and always called me back if I missed her. She handled my dog with care and respect. She allowed us time to say goodbye and the whole process was as smooth and pain-free as possible for my dog. She was also very respectful as she entered my home. She even called to see how family and i were doing a week or so after my pet passed. She sent a card with sympathy and let me know she was thinking of us and that we made the best possible choice for our situation. Im so glad she offered us the option to save our pet's fur, paw print and clay print. These are things I didn't even think of or had the mindset to research. And im so grateful she had all these in place so I could save a small piece of my pet for the last time. Lastly, i think having a vet euthanize pet at home is not cheap but her price was pretty competitive. The crematory that she works with to take care of the body is also very nice. read more

I found Dr. Ivy on the Heaven's Gate (cremation) website, which was recommended to me by my vet. She was able to come to our home on very short notice as our original plan to go to the vet became a non-option. Her compassion and human touch gave us strength during this most difficult time. She felt like a friend the moment she walked in the door. Our Tank doesn't care to be handled but he sensed her compassion and actually gave her puppy kisses as she administered the sedative- THIS speaks volumes. She explained what to expect along the way and gave us all of the time we needed with our boy. Although she offered to take our boy with her and arrange the cremation, we opted to take him ourselves for "one last ride in the Jeep". read more

Dr. Ivy made a difficult situation more peaceful for me. Saying goodbye to my girl was very difficult. Dr. Ivy was personable and kind. I agonized over letting my girl go for weeks. I dont think you could ever find anyone more compassionate to come to your house for such a heartbreaking service. Dr Ivy is the perfect person for this line of work. This was one of the hardest decisions I ever had to make. I called several places last minute as my dog was in a pain and I couldn't wait another day. My heart wanted him to be comfortable in his own home. It was difficult with Covid regulations and I didn't want to wait outside until it was time for him to be seen. After calling a couple of places I ran across Peace for Pets. I left a tearful message for Dr. Ivy and she called me back within 15 minutes. Dr. Ivy agreed last minute to come to my home and relieved my anxiety. When she arrived I didn't feel pressure or rushed. She made my wife and I very comfortable during a very stressful time. Her soft and kind presence was such a great help. It not easy letting go of your four leg best friend. But you have to do what's best for them. It's so hard not to be selfish about what we want for ourself. We all have to do what's rite for our animals. Thank you Dr Ivey for all of your help and support thru this hard time. I cannot find words adequate to convey the respect, admiration, and deep appreciation I have for Dr. Ivey. She was a treasure in the difficult time when it became necessary to distinguish my distress thinking about losing my dear Tucker dog, from my responsibility to lovingly care for him by saying a final, peaceful goodbye. This has to be one of the most difficult jobs in the world to do, and she does it with grace and competence. read more

I wanted to write this review because I know how hard of a decision it is to make to help your pet transition from this life and how you want to be sure the person helping with that transition will give you and your pet the utmost compassion and care. I cannot recommend Dr. Ivey enough if you are in the sad place of having to make this decision. I called her on a Sunday because I felt my cat's quality of life was rapidly deteriorating and I didn't want to put her through another 24 hours of potential pain and discomfort before her euthanasia appointment with another vet on Tuesday. Dr. Ivey called me back within 2 hours and was able to come on Monday to help with Terra (my cat). She was kind, gentle, compassionate, loving, and walked my partner and I through each step so we understood what was happening which was incredibly helpful even though I have unfortunately been through this process before with another cat. She allowed us to hold Terra as much as possible and very graciously gave us the time we needed during each step until both of us were ready. In the end, Terra was able to pass in her home, on her favorite blanket, with 2 people who loved her very much holding her and even though it was incredibly painful for us, thanks to Dr. Ivey, it was not painful for Terra and the best possible transition for her. read more

My guy Bruce, a shelter kitten, hadn't yet gotten comfortable with strangers when it came time for Dr. Ivy's help. "No problem. He doesn't need to see me" she said, and built a plan where I could deliver a preliminary medicine by myself. Bruce chilled deeply in my arms and we had a beautiful time together. Only when we were ready, did Dr. Ivy come in quietly from the other room to gently administer the injections. She prompted us to take all the time we needed. Bruce was peaceful.Thank you, Dr. Ivy! read more

There's a reason that Dr. Ivey has a perfect record of five star reviews here. Pets are beloved family members, with sadly short lifetimes (unless you have tortoises). Coping with their last days is such a stressful time. We didn't want to stress out our dog Lola in her last days, and called a number of home euthanasia doctors. Dr. Ivey was the most responsive and compassIonate on the phone, and went beyond our expectations in person. She arrived in less than an hour. Every aspect of her manner and practice was soothing for our family, for Lola, and even for our other dogs. We hope not to need her services again anytime soon, but would not hesitate a moment to call again when the time comes. read more

First of all, you're reading this...I'm so sorry that you need to seek out a service like this. I'm so glad Peace for Pets exists, and I highly recommend Dr. Ivey. I had only a few weeks to decide what to do about my sweet dog with aggressive cancer. The vets told me euthanasia should be considered, and likely sooner than we thought. He was in such pain but really trying to manage. I called Dr. Ivey and she was kind, understanding, and we set a date. She said I could cancel if needed which was reassuring. The day came and I was ready, not ready, relieved, devastated...disoriented. It's a place none us wants to be in. That all being said, Dr. Ivey was very gentle and stated clearly the steps as we moved through. I felt comfortable with her caring for my sweet boy at the end of his life. I appreciated that he could cross over in his own favorite place to sleep. It's important to have someone like Dr. Ivey there at such a sensitive time. I highly recommend her. read more

I am sorry that you are reading this; it probably means you are facing the loss of a pet and my heart goes out to you. But all the same, I'm so glad you found this provider because there's no one in the world that I would recommend more than Dr. Ivey for your needs. Once I worked up the nerve to dial her number, I was completely shocked that SHE actually answered the phone! I think I said "Oh wow, a real person!" before I started crying. She was so incredibly patient and compassionate with me over the phone; she listened to what was going on with our cat (we had decided on palliative care in the late stages of his cancer, and he let us know when he was ready). It was as the vet had predicted - he would get a little better, and then take a huge turn for the worse. And so he did, and we knew the time had come. Mind you - this is all happening against the backdrop of the COVID19 nightmare... Dr. Ivey was able to come mere hours later - in the rain, on a Saturday, with all the social distancing protocol to follow. She was so loving and respectful of our cat, our personal space, the tender feelings of my two children - this provider is a class act from start to finish. She even sent a heartfelt and kind card a few days later... This is one of the hardest things you have to do as the parent of a fur baby. I cannot recommend her highly enough. Good luck to you : ( read more

Dr. Ivey, I would like to thank you so much for your dedication and compassion. My daughter's 20 year old cat had developed chronic kidney failure over the last year, but did fairly well with good appetite and enjoyed her snuggles with my adult daughter and her time out in our yard. Then her appetite went down over a couple of days and she stopped eating and was having difficulty walking on Saturday and suffered a small seizure. My daughter decided it was time to allow Sweetie to gently pass away. I called Peace for Pets and left a message as they were not open yet. The Dr promptly returned my call, and when I explained the circumstances , she agreed to come Saturday afternoon. She texted when she was on her way. Her manner with the cat was so gentle and she explained the process with each step. She made the process so peaceful and gave my daughter time to say goodbye to the cat after without any pressure.
