I am giving RAMC three stars instead of one because of Dr. Singh. Every experience I've had with…read morehim has been positive. He is compassionate, thorough, and genuinely cares about his patients. I've also had good experiences with one or two staff members, but unfortunately my interactions with much of the rest of the staff have been disappointing. My dog, Bodhi, had surgery at RAMC in July 2025 to remove several lumps. During surgery, Dr. Singh found another lump within the same incision site, removed it, and didn't charge me for the additional removal. I truly appreciated his thoughtfulness and care. At Bodhi's bandage removal appointment, a younger male technician handled the visit. I asked to stay with my dog, and he agreed. The bandage was adhered tightly, and although he initially used adhesive remover, he quickly became impatient and began ripping the bandage off. Bodhi was clearly uncomfortable, and I left wondering how he would have been treated if I hadn't been present. I returned in September 2025 for another FNA, and once again Dr. Singh was excellent. In early June, Bodhi needed another FNA. Because of my previous experience, I requested that the same technician not handle my dog. Dr. Singh understood my concerns and was very reassuring. A week later, Bodhi was diagnosed with lymphoma. After discussing my options, I initially considered less invasive treatment before deciding on palliative care. Dr. Singh had advised me to stop Apoquel because lymphoma was suspected, so Bodhi spent nearly two weeks suffering from severe itching while I weighed my options. I contacted the office to ask about Laverdia, an oral chemotherapy medication. I was told they had spoken with Dr. Singh, ordered the medication, and would contact me when it arrived. They also recommended seeing an oncologist, which was difficult because appointments and callbacks took several days. I never received a follow-up. After six days, I reached back out because I had no choice but to start Bodhi on prednisone due to his worsening itching and enlarging lymph nodes. In that same email, I also requested refills for his prednisone and gabapentin since I was only given a 22 day supply. Again, I received no response. Maybe they eventually would have answered if I had continued calling or emailing, but by then I had lost confidence in the staff. I was left wondering whether I would have made different treatment decisions had someone simply followed through with the communication they promised. Aside from one longtime veterinary technician, I also found the front desk staff to be cold during one of the hardest moments of my life. I wasn't expecting sympathy, but a few kind words would have meant a great deal. Dr. Singh is the reason this review is three stars instead of one. He treated Bodhi with compassion and treated me with empathy throughout this difficult process. Unfortunately, the lack of communication and follow-through from the rest of the staff overshadowed an otherwise positive experience. I rarely leave negative reviews, but I felt this one was important. When a family is facing the loss of a beloved pet, timely communication matters. I hope this feedback encourages RAMC to improve so other families don't experience the same frustration during such a difficult time.

I used this practice to do a PPE on a Thoroughbred. I was not able to attend the PPE appointment…read more The vet doing the exam did reach out to me after doing some initial soundness exams, and we decided to do a few x-rays to follow up on some findings. After the exam was done and the report was sent to me, I bought the horse. I get it home and at my very first appointment with my personal vet, they realized this horse was not the horse the sellers told me it was. It is 12 years old instead of 7. There was no effort made to verify the identity of the horse during the PPE appointment. Loomis Basin did not scan for a microchip, or look for a lip tattoo, or make an attempt to estimate the age of the horse based the teeth. Now I am attempting to get in touch with someone in the office about this. I have called four times in the last three weeks, and am still waiting to hear something from their management. This was a big error on their part, and they are not doing much to try and resolve the situation.

Hello, My name is Meghan and I live out in Brentwood CA…read more Yesterday my vet Dr. Mika Frederickson came out and did a lameness exam and injections on my 16-year-old appendix. She is so laid back, knowledgeable, smart, and friendly. She was so kind to my horse and even allowed our special needs program to watch her do the exam on my animal (I have a child with autism, so my horse is very used to having high energy around). I highly recommend her. She's fair, patient, and reasonable. She understands the difference between helping the horse and also understanding when medical intervention is no longer "helping" the horse. I appreciate that so much. Anyway, you should give her a raise. She deserves it. Or at least a bonus. Or high five.

They were clear in the beginning that they operate sepratelty and that was super helpful to know. The staff was super friendly and the kind- they were honest with us when it came to what could be done or what was needed for our pup and possible options for moving forward. My only complaint is that some of the front desk staff have a tendency to malinger and chat with you in the front. When I come in I am very open for small talk but there have been a couple of times I've come in and I felt like we were almost being held hostage with small talk. One day checkout took about 25 min, when it really should have taken half that. I simply just didn't have the time. I appreciate the friendliness, but I would also appreciate the social awareness as well. Just make sure you pad your appointment times with some extra time to chat as well.

Dr. Williams, thank you for your response to my recent review. You indicated in your response two…read morethings that I believe highlight my issues with your practice. 1. You prefer patients get medication at your clinic. So do I, you prescribed pregabalin for Tess that is hard to find, your clinic doesn't fill it and prices range from 300 down to 34. Chewy doesn't have it. All I needed was for your staff to ok the fill over the phone with no additional paperwork. This involved checking the prescription on the computer and authorizing it. They said no twice even after contacting a manager. 2. You were Charlie's PTP. You had all his records, ordered tests and handled some of his routine follow-up while he was being treated at UC Davis. We spent thousands of dollars at your clinic on Charlie for tests. UC Davis indicated within 5 minutes of me taking him there that he had a pronounced heart murmur. He had been seen at your clinic only one week before. I don't know if you listened to his heart, but Davis was very surprised that our vet had not caught the murmur. Charlie had endocarditis, we will never know if catching it earlier would have made any difference but the endless scans to his abdomen and numerous blood tests were financially very difficult and in the end heartbreaking and unnessary. I would have appreciated if some common sense could have been used given Tess" prescription as what you prescribed is not easy to obtain, and that a more thorough routine exam of Charlie could have been done prior to running expensive tests. These pets are loved family members. Thank you

The front desk gals work SO hard (you know that phone is ringing non-stop) and they always answer with a smile. Amber at the front desk has been there through all the ups and downs of my pet's health and I honestly feel comforted by her over the phone and in person. Side note- I actually really love the new phone system they are using, it is super efficient. The techs are knowledgable and attentive, I feel like they treat my dog like their own. My dog is so spoiled by them that she can't wait to leave the exam room to walk around the back with all her tech friends. We get to see Shannon often and I feel so confident to leave my dog with her- she is always looking out for us and has made every visit so fun and personable. If my dog is on the schedule last minute, Shannon goes out of her way to say hi and make sure everything is okay. She is basically family at this point. It means so much to us to know that the staff cares this much! We love seeing Dr. Zucca and Dr. Bradley- I feel like they have made it their mission to find the best treatment plans for my dog's GI and skin allergy issues. They have taken her whole health into consideration every time we try a new supplement/medication/food and have ALWAYS been so good at following up personally to see how everything is going. To me, that makes GBVC the best, I feel like I am known there and they really care about my dog. If I am in the front, waiting for an appointment or picking up food, you can hear how well they know almost every single person and pet that walks through the door. They greet folks as they walk through the door by name and I am always hearing them say "We've already got you all checked in!". That's because they know their patients and they care. I'm not sure many places have this kind of customer service still. We love you GBVC, thank you for all you do to care for us and our pets!
