To cool off after exploring Halifax, we each ordered a mango and passion fruit soft-serve ice cream in a cup. I also purchased a milk chocolate slate with almonds, a box of milk chocolate-covered hazelnuts, and a few wild rose milk chocolate truffles to enjoy later. The soft-serve ice cream was outstanding. We both agreed that it was one of the tastiest soft serves we've had in quite some time. The vanilla bean soft serve was exceptionally smooth, creamy, and flavorful, while the mango and passion fruit added a refreshing tropical twist that was perfect for a warm day. One of the highlights of our visit was chatting with Tara, the front store manager. She was friendly, warm, and incredibly knowledgeable. She took the time to explain the chocolate-making process used by the owner and master chocolatier, Julien Rousseau. Learning about the craftsmanship and care that goes into creating the chocolates made the experience even more enjoyable and interesting. Tara's assistant, Aldrin, was equally warm and welcoming, making us feel appreciated from the moment we walked through the door. The shop itself is spotless, beautifully presented, and offers a relaxing atmosphere. After spending several hours walking around Halifax, it was the perfect place to sit down, enjoy a sweet treat and a latte, and take a break. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would not hesitate to stop by again the next time we are in Halifax. Highly recommended for anyone looking for exceptional chocolates, smooth and creamy soft-serve ice cream, excellent lattes, and genuinely friendly service.

This is a follow up review after trying another box of 24 chocolates that were shipped to me. This…read morewas a much better experience. I have found a description of some of the chocolate flavours online. There are still several chocolates in the box which are not shown online, especially the decorative holiday designs. I had to bite the bullet (i.e. chocolate [pun intended]) and hope for the best. Unlike the last time, the box was filled with chocolate flavours that I really liked. Some are very original like blueberry tea and the blue speckled dome-shaped dark salted butter caramel. Most of the chocolates shifted out of place, turned upside down or sideways in transit (see photo). I've been in touch with an executive at the company who knows about the issue and is planning to change the packaging. Hopefully, they will also enclose in each box a QR code or website address/URL detailing all their chocolate flavours. I appreciate that someone reached out to me when they read that my experience wasn't as positive as they or I would have liked. This is a company that cares about its customers and reputation. Their handcrafted chocolates are beautiful with many looking like works of art.

Their hot chocolate and cocoa packaged to take home is excellent for drinking and baking (tested faithfully and often by yours truly). Chocolates are awesome with original and sometimes surprising fillings. And their chocolate drink honestly makes me wiggle with happiness. Reminds me of hot chocolate I used to drink in Paris. If you are not a fan of malls, this could change your mind…read more Rocky Mountain Chocolate is just amazing! The store is located in the Halifax Shopping Centre which is a mall and I understand some people aren't fans of that. I myself love malls and walking around. In my teenage years I was proud to call myself a "Mall-rat." But the Halifax Shopping Centre has some unique stores that make this a unique mall experience. And one of the best examples is Rocky Mountain Chocolate. This is a candy and chocolate store like no other. And good news for people who have Diabetes. They have an entire, "no sugar added" selection so you won't be stuck watching your friends enjoy their guilty pleasures. You can join in to ;). I feel compelled to talk about the Caramel Apples. Not because I like Apples. In fact, I hate them. I like the taste but hate the texture. However, if I mention Rocky Mountain Chocolate to anyone the first thing they say is, "the apples are so amazing!" So if you like Apples, check them out. They have the classic Caramel Apple but have a lot more than that. Try M&M chocolate chip Caramel Apple for example. I am a fan of fudge and ice cream. One thing I learned from the last time I was at the store was they make their own specialty ice cream. So you cannot get it anywhere else but at a Rocky Mountain Chocolate store. And trust me when I say, it is really good ice cream. And of course their fudge and chocolate selection is fantastic. The fudge or chocolate aren't so rich that you have one piece and then can't eat anymore. I can definitely go through a few of them. lol. But they are worth it! The staff are always pleasant and very hard working. I would say it is average service so there is some room for growth there. I would love to see smiles all the time and people who just love what they do. But its still good service. If you have a sweet tooth, don't you dare go anywhere else but Rocky Mountain Chocolate if you are in the Halifax Shopping Centre. You are short changing your taste-buds if you go elsewhere.
