This is a family favourite Chocolatier whenever we are in Halifax. Excellent quality fine chocolates and confections, including meringues and marshmallows. Their Cortado's are some of the best that we've had anywhere and rival Toronto, Vancouver, LA, Paris cafes etc., for quality products.

So easy to order, it's a quiet, clean and mellow stop on your walk.

Really lovely spot! The chocolate is amazing and we had a Chai Latte and Hot Chocolate. They have such a great selection of chocolates and gifts to take home to a special someone. Staff were knowledgeable and very friendly.

I was extremely impressed by Rousseau Chocolatier. The cafe is spacious and bright. They have lots of confectioneries for sale, some vegan, some not but I noticed a lot of their dark chocolate seems to be safe. Both the gentleman and woman working were very friendly, helpful and informative. They offer both soy and almond milk for coffee drinks and we asked about vegan chocolates and were told the peppermint and marzipan are vegan (I had a friend who went after and she was told more were vegan so inquire when visiting). They also offer dairy-free vegan soft serve sorbet. The chocolates were absolutely decadent and delicious. I really loved the peppermint! We also tried the raspberry sorbet which was good, sweet and smooth. For a chocolate shop I am super impressed with the vegan options and plan to go back to satisfy my sweet tooth.

This place is AH-MAZING. I moved to Halifax about a year ago, just down the street from Rousseau and I can't believe it took me almost a year to stop in. The store is pristine! It's so clean and inviting. In particular, it is really cool to see the chocolatier in his space working away at his craft. The owners/staff here are so nice and engaging and super helpful and knowledgeable. One of the owners told me their chocolatier is originally from the south of France + having travelled much of the south of France, it's my opinion that he's at the top of his trade anywhere. I've only been a few times but I have never been disappointed with the goods offered here. Everything is truly exceptional. Most notably, their Rochers Suisse chocolates and chocolate mousse (served on occasion - be sure to follow their Instagram account for updates). Unfortunately, it is a bit on the pricier side; however, it's worth every penny. I don't mind spending my money on quality + I like to support local businesses. As well, they support many other local businesses by purchasing ingredients locally. I highly, highly recommend treating yourself. Particularly for those coming to Halifax by way of cruise ship. It's super close to the port. I adore this place and can't wait to try everything on their menu! ***Tip: If buying chocolates you can opt for a bag rather than a box and it cuts down on the total cost.

I really liked the coconut and lemon flavours, I wish if the raspberry macarons were on the sour side rather than the sweeter side. Too sweet for my taste The owner originally from France, he knew his treats, the shop overall welcoming and smells so chocolate, you definitely want to try some A box of 6, 12$ Individual macaron, 2$

Was on a business trip from Toronto and was staying at the Westin. Asked the receptionist if there was a Starbucks where I could grab a coffee. She said that I could use the hotel restaurant or opt for this place which she said is pretty awesome. I am glad that I went with her recommendation. The place is nice and the coffee is great and so are the chocolates. The 5 star rating is totally justified - this is a memorable place. Do try this out. Cheers.

This is a beautiful little bakery and cafe by the waterfront. There are a lot of unique chocolates and local chocolate bars. I liked that you could customize a box of macarons, and the brownie I had was large, moist, and had lots of nuts - very filling!

My husband (who asks for nothing), only wanted them to do our wedding cake. Full Stop. No discussion. I have yet, and I mean yet, pass their new storefront at the market and not buy something. I have tried every... single... one... of their individual desserts. Never a bad one, just varying levels of bliss. Their hot chocolate and cocoa packaged to take home is excellent for drinking and baking (tested faithfully and often by yours truly). Chocolates are awesome with original and sometimes surprising fillings. And their chocolate drink honestly makes me wiggle with happiness. Reminds me of hot chocolate I used to drink in Paris. Their is artistry in their work. Almost makes you want to not mar the beauty..... Phfft, who am I kidding. Try them... You'll see. And thank me later.

If you are not a fan of malls, this could change your mind…read more Rocky Mountain Chocolate is just amazing! The store is located in the Halifax Shopping Centre which is a mall and I understand some people aren't fans of that. I myself love malls and walking around. In my teenage years I was proud to call myself a "Mall-rat." But the Halifax Shopping Centre has some unique stores that make this a unique mall experience. And one of the best examples is Rocky Mountain Chocolate. This is a candy and chocolate store like no other. And good news for people who have Diabetes. They have an entire, "no sugar added" selection so you won't be stuck watching your friends enjoy their guilty pleasures. You can join in to ;). I feel compelled to talk about the Caramel Apples. Not because I like Apples. In fact, I hate them. I like the taste but hate the texture. However, if I mention Rocky Mountain Chocolate to anyone the first thing they say is, "the apples are so amazing!" So if you like Apples, check them out. They have the classic Caramel Apple but have a lot more than that. Try M&M chocolate chip Caramel Apple for example. I am a fan of fudge and ice cream. One thing I learned from the last time I was at the store was they make their own specialty ice cream. So you cannot get it anywhere else but at a Rocky Mountain Chocolate store. And trust me when I say, it is really good ice cream. And of course their fudge and chocolate selection is fantastic. The fudge or chocolate aren't so rich that you have one piece and then can't eat anymore. I can definitely go through a few of them. lol. But they are worth it! The staff are always pleasant and very hard working. I would say it is average service so there is some room for growth there. I would love to see smiles all the time and people who just love what they do. But its still good service. If you have a sweet tooth, don't you dare go anywhere else but Rocky Mountain Chocolate if you are in the Halifax Shopping Centre. You are short changing your taste-buds if you go elsewhere.

I have wandered in and out of this shop for years!…read more I've bought ice cream, cookies, chocolates, and caramel... I LOVE the packets of caramel, I like the cookies coated in icing and candy, I find the combinations for the chocolates to be way to blah, and the ice cream flavors usually taste freezer burnt. I joined their member card, just cuz I was on a caramel binge! its a cool idea, to bad I've only used it once or twice.. Some people mention how great it smells, I dont enjoy the smell... it smells like burning over processed chocolate and sugar... Add the smell of less then wonderful product with the extreme price tags on many of the items... Im not a fan... its ok if I wanna have a binge on something sweet and am at the mall! (though i'd usually go down the hall to DQ)

This is such a great location, big and bright with plenty of candy and chocolate to choose from. The young lady behind the counter was just a delightful person answering a lot of questions and being very helpful. We were so focused on the candy, we did not realize that they also have ice cream.
