I think it's good ice cream but isn't the best I've tasted. I like the mint chip flavor :) My husband likes the maple flavor :) It's creamy and decadent. If you're here on a cruise stop, worth checking out for a sweet treat.

Worth the type. Two scoops for 8$ - delicious. We had the Messie Bessie and Sea Salt Toffee Caramel. It was a little bit of a wait, very we loved the ice cream. Signage is clear. Cute interior - same as other Cows. Must try Cows if you in NS or PEI.

We were told this is the best ice cream in Canada. They may be correct. This is a cute place on the water. It was not too long of a walk from the ship. The people are friendly with quick service. The ice cream was very creamy and rich. Try it and see what you think. It was very good.

Cows ice cream is always fantastic and I'm thankful they have dairy-free options for those of us who don't digest ice cream well. Line can be long in the summer, but that is a testament to the quality of their product. Some well-loved flavours in my circle are Moo York Cheesecake and Cookie Moonster.

Gooey mooey, single scoop, regular cone.

The first time I went to a Cows was way back in 2010; I was relishing my two-scoop cone before realizing it was starting to melt on my hand, so I had to quickly lap it up. These memories flooded back to me when I came across the small yellow shed on the Waterfront. Also from prior experience, I recall having to wait a long time (~20 minutes) just to make an order. There wasn't a line this time; tourism is just starting to ramp up again, and it was around closing time for the store at 5:30. The staff were very friendly and gave recommendations for their most popular flavours, which happened to be the ones with bovine themes in their names. The list you can choose from is large and can induce decision paralysis, so I'll summarize by saying you have your traditional ice cream flavours (vanilla, chocolate), some with decadent toppings (maple walnut, messie bessie), and then some unique fruit-based choices (lemoon lime, PEI blueberry). If you're stuck between two flavours they'll be kind enough to offer two half-scoops of each (for a single scoop), so you really can't do any wrong. I just went for just a single scoop cone this time around and picked the Gooey Mooey: a combination of burnt sugar and toffee. As expected, this flavour was very sweet, smooth, and creamy. Something I just didn't notice until this visit was that the store also included souvenirs, including keyrings and t-shirts. It was at that moment I realized that the Moocci t-shirt I saw a few years ago back in Ottawa was created by the Cows graphic designer. I was tempted to get one for myself. Ice cream pairs well with a nice walk on the Waterfront, so if you do decide to come here, you too can partake in the tradition of watching ships pass as you snack on your treat.

Interesting addition to Cow's menu at some locations

Cow's is a famous chain in parts of Canada. Our tour group went to this location in Halifax. There was another Cow's close to our hotel. Lines were always long, but worth the wait. I got the Messie Bessie because it seemed to have everything I like in it: chocolate and toffee. We were a group of 35, and the most popular choice was the Wowie Cowie, with Cookie Moonster as second choice. The ice cream was smooth and creamy. Our single scoops came in a nicely flavored waffle cone. One woman in our group, who couldn't make up her mind, found she could get a half scoop of two different flavors and call it a single scoop. Very clever, Cow's! I added a photo showing part of the menu at the location near our hotel because I've never seen "Boozy Shakes" before.

Wowie Cowie. Vanilla ice cream, toffee marble, chocolate flakes and moo crunch!

Cows ice cream is a must have on our vacations. Wowie Cowie is my fav, on a waffle cone. Kids also loved the stuffies and kept them entertained the whole trip. This was one of a many visits.

A fun, handmade ice cream and specialty shop right on the Halifax harbour walk, close to the hotels and shops in a stand-alone building. Many cow-themed t-shirts, keyrings, mugs, etc. but known more for their handmade ice cream which is super tasty and perfect on a summer day. Ice cream can be served in waffle cones or cups. No seating area, but you can walk into the pier which has brightly covered nautical chairs available or slip into the nearby shops if you want to escape the blistering sun to finish your treat.

I had an ice cream today at Cows. We don't have Cows in Toronto so I usually pop into one when I come across it (the closest one to Toronto is about two hours away in Niagara-on-the-Lake). This one is right on the waterfront. In addition to ice cream, they also sell teeshirts (I've bought a few over the years), pajamas, etc. with their Cow theme. I got a double scoop of Fluff 'n Udder in a cup. Yum! Thanks, Megan! Then I found a spot to sit on the boardwalk and ate it while I watched the fog and the ferries.

My scoop wasn't quite as big as on the sign (or my cone was just much larger).

A PEI classic comes to Halifax. On a sunny day at the waterfront, Cows is the place to be! Lines can get long, but they move quickly (just know that you probably can't sample flavors, so just commit to what you think sounds good). The ice cream is tasty and refreshing - great for strolling along the piers or just enjoying the outdoors. If you're in doubt about your flavor, try "Gooey Mooey" or "Wowie Cowie" - both popular and delicious.

It didn't take me long to decide what I wanted bc I saw the word s'mores so it's no contest for me after that lol! I got the Gimme S'mores fog cup which has their signature creamy soft serve mixed with graham crackers and chocolate sauce, and topped with toasted marshmallow merengue and their giant cloud of fog cotton candy!! If I was a kid, I'm sure I would've eaten the entire thing haha!! It was delicious but insanely sweet as you can imagine. I could only manage a couple of nibbles on the cotton candy - it had a great flavor but is just straight sugar so I couldn't handle more lol. But the rest went down too easy and was a fun choice. My hubby wasn't feeling as childish as me and just went with a little scoop of his go-to mint chocolate chip topped with chocolate sauce - excellent flavor and texture in this one as well and the small scoop was just right. If you're not feeling the ice cream, they also offer cookies and donuts - ample choices of flavors and they looked fabulous as well. The shop is sleek and clean with benches inside and some whimsical patio seating outside to take advantage of their harbor views. Prices are reasonable given the quality and portions. Staff were very friendly. Location is excellent - right along Halifax's popular Harborwalk. Very easy to get to as a pedestrian and tourist but I imagine driving here would be a nightmare bc parking is difficult in Halifax imo and there's so much construction going on at the moment.

Funky Monkey Ice Hut is located on the side of the store and in the summertime is packed. It actually looks like a coconut hut that is the home to the largest ice cream this side of the bridge that I have found. Normally when I go I am a regular chocolate girl the odd time if they are out which shocks me that an ice cream location runs out of a staple flavor like chocolate. Oh well this is an opportunity to try one of the many other flavours. Tropical treasure is TO DIE FOR but they do not get it in often but I keep requesting it. That is my first choice now but normally have to revert to chocolate as it is never in. Waffle cones as well as regular cones give you the choice as well as a cup. But seriously ice cream always tastes better in a cone.
