I absolutely love this location. In Ontario Marble Slabs are run by servers age 19 to 40, and honestly feel real stale. So I took someone for their free birthday scoop. The front was run with teenagers who had the endless smiles on their faces, when they saw the birthday boy- they all wished happy birthday with such excitement willing to have fun. When he birthday boy just ordered gummy bears- she's like you want one scoop, then asked again- she was so nice piling four scoops of gummy bears and even offered a waffle bowl because the ice cream was melting. The location was huddle and bustle- they also weigh all the orders here to ensure they hit the size requirement for "size." read more

Marble Slab is something similar to Coldstone Creamy and Sugah!. Ice cream is paddled over cold marble slabs and add-ins of your choice are mixed in. Marble Slabs ice cream is all hand-made in their ice cream factory, as is the cookie dough and the brownies that are used as mix-ins. The ice cream ranges in flavour from your standard vanilla and strawberry, to cheesecake, eggnog, birthday cake, everything! There's a lot to choose from and that's before you even pick a topping! I went with a basic combo of vanilla and pineapple. My ice cream tastes are simple, though I sampled the cheesecake and agreed with the cheerful ice cream girl that it would be delicious with raspberries and graham crackers. The staff is amazing, by the way, offering up combo tips, taste tests, and helpful store advice. Also, Thriller played while we were here. How did I not know this place existed? Why did the people who knew about this place not tell me about it? Where has it been all my life? I was on my way to dinner, and was half an hour early! I saw a delightful sign "Marble Slab Creamery". Me - being an ice cream fanatic, decided to walk into this new realm I discovered. Holy Batman! I was in Ice cream heaven. The delightful man at the counter asked if I had ever been before. I said no! He promptly began telling me how things work within the creamery. Like how the ice cream is all hand made in store, the fact that you can add in, pretty much whatever you want, etc. etc. etc. Then he offers me samples! Me being me, I started sampling! Tops on my list were the Peanut Butter - Pumpkin - Double Chocolate So i got the Peanut Butter! Added in Chocolate Snowballs (chocolate with sprinkles) and wrapped it all up in a chocolate butter finger dipped waffle cone. This place has enlightened me to the awesomeness it is! I'll be back! I took my sister here for an afternoon treat this past weekend and we went at at good time because there was only a woman and her two kids ahead of us. The girl who served us was really nice and she asked if we had been there before, which I thought was a nice touch - a small thing but good to ask in case the customer you are serving is not familiar with the place and is not sure how to order. All of the different options can be a bit overwhelming when you first visit! The process is pretty simple though - you choose your size, the type of ice cream you want, then add your fill-ins. Each standard size includes one fill-in, then I think each extra one is 79 cents each. This place is definitely not cheap - our two standard SMALL ice creams (aka one fill-in each) came to over $10. That being said, the variety of ice cream flavours and fill-ins is really good. I had peanut butter ice cream with cookie dough and I was impressed with the amount of dough they gave me. I was also able to try as many different kinds I wanted before deciding. The ice cream had a great flavour too - not overwhelmingly creamy and peanut-buttery - it was more light, more like a gelato. I found that the small was just enough for me - I doubt I would even be able to to finish a large by myself. The cakes and ice cream cupcakes in their giant fridge look absolutely delicious but I don't even want to THINK about how many calories are in them!! Would think about getting a cake from here for some occasion though, as a fun treat, and for something better quality than a melty DQ concoction. A friend of mine ordered a custom bday cake here for another friend and from what she told me she had a great experience (they were very accommodating to some slightly 'picky' requests). This isn't a place I will visit often (I would prefer not to weight 300lbs and I just can't justify $5 on a small bowl of ice cream) but I will definitely return for the occasional treat. read more

Marble Slab was huge back home, but I had resigned myself to never seeing it again after I moved to Canada. I was overjoyed when I spotted that familiar sign one day when I was at the shopping centre. Nothing has changed for me in terms of quality and selection. It is pricey, but the selection of ice creams and toppings makes up for that. Back home, my go-tos were always Sweet Cream and strawberries or Skor or Key Lime and graham crackers. Key lime was always tough to come by, but this location offers it during the summer. I've tried other flavours here (various chocolates, Red Velvet, pumpkin, birthday cake, Carrot Cake), but tend to go back to my childhood choices. We often order cakes and pints online, which is a welcome option and convenient, and we've never been disappointed. The cakes are not cheap, but they are well-decorated, and the ice cream is quite rich, so they usually go pretty far. Finally, the service has always been great. They are generally pretty fast, friendly, and generous with tasting samples for people who are unsure. Trevor (manager) is awesome. We've had two issues that we have dealt with him on and he went way above what we expected without our even asking. read more

Ice cream at it's finest? Perhaps! The Good: Marble Slab has many flavors to choose from; your basics vanilla and chocolate to their premium flavors cheesecake to amaretto. You can choose your ice cream and add in any "mixing" you desire; Skor, Oreo, Reese Pieces, berries and many many more! Then you choose your waffle cone, or bowl plain, dipped or sprinkled. Yay for choices! I had a Coffee ice cream with Skor bits, the ice cream was creamy and delicious! The Bad: Service needs some improvement, the bf placed his order and was taken care of (he went first, as I take much longer to decide what I want), then I was skipped, the people in line after me were served before I was.. booo I had to tell them that they skipped me. When I was finally served and made my way to the counter to pay, the lady asked me how many "mixings" I had, and looked at me funny when I said just one, like I was lying to her?! Finally, the price was high. $10.33 for 2 small ice creams with one "mixing" each, that's a little much. You can eat in or take out. We opted to take our cones with us, as seating is limited and the line up kinda blocks your view of everything. I noticed that you can order (or just pick up) cakes, I may take advantage of this in the future. While this may not become a regular hang out spot for me (due to the cost of the ice cream, and, let's face it, my desire to continue to fit into all of my clothes), it's definitely a great "occasional treat" place (due to it's fantastically delicious ice cream). Their ice cream is all homemade and comes in a plethora of delicious and interesting flavours. A friend and I gave them a try for the first time the other night and were really impressed. They allow you to sample their flavours, I tried the french toast, pumpkin cheese cake, and red velvet. All were like a party in my mouth. The french toast was maybe a *tad* too maple-y (whatever, it's a word...) for me, but still tasty. I pretty much wanted to devour ALL of the pumpkin cheescake right then and there. When it comes time to order, you can either choose your own ice cream flavour(s) and whatever mixings (which they have a ton of) you want to go into it/them. Or you can choose from one of the flavour combos on their menu. We did the latter, and I chose the Cookie Dough Drizzle (I believe it was sweet cream and birthday cake ice cream with chocolate chip cookie dough, oreo pieces and fudge chunks), and my friend had the Birthday Bonanza (Birthday Cake ice cream, sprinkles, and gummy bears). My friend loved hers, and I've been dreaming of mine ever since that night. I have to say it was probably the tastiest ice cream concoction I've ever had. I REALLY want another...but I also really want to fit into my pants...decisions, decisions... You can watch the entire creative process happen right in front of you, which is kind of interesting too (or maybe I just don't get out enough...). And they also have a freezer case or two with containers of their delicious flavours (which I believe they will add mixings to if you ask, as well) and ice cream cakes to take home. They are expensive (our two ice creams came to $13 or $14), so, as I said before, they make more sense as an occasional treat kind of place rather than a go-to spot. I first tried the Marble Slab in Calgary and was hoping one would open here. If you're looking for cheap ice cream head to MacDonald's or the Costco soft serve. The Marble Slab is about having a fancy treat. Although you can pack your ice cream full of candy and chocolate with varying syrups if yore feeling decadent I went for something simple. Cheesecake flavored ice cream with graham crackers and raspberries. I love the possibility of all the choices. Which I find both exhilarating and crippling. Some of the ice creams are way to rich for me. Especially if you mix chocolate with chocolate bits or fudge. I'll definitely be back because the allure of all those combinations read more

What a fantastic place. Not only is it well staffed- but they are all super friendly and provide a great atmosphere. They will let you sample anything and work quickly to make your treat. The draw of this place to me is that the ice cream is home made. And yes, I know some may argue that Cold Stone is as well, but honestly- it tastes mass made. Whereas Marble Slab is made in house. The flavour selection is always changing and I haven't found a flavour that didn't taste amazing yet! The pistachio and lemon are my favorites. I don't actually find it that pricey- but we usually only get a small with one mix in...making it under $12 after tax. I find that the ice cream is so good you don't need a lot of mix ins. And it comes with a homemade waffle cone which is always fresh and tasty....better than Cows. The cookie dough or brownie mix ins are my favorite because those are also made in house and it seems like you get the most for your money. I would steer clear of the chocolate bars as you don't get as much. Overall I love this place and they always provide a solid product! read more

Bought a groupon for a large ice cream cake - read reviews from people using groupons at other Marble Slab's who had bad experiences with size and quality - no issues here. Cake was delicious (peanut butter caramel) and they did not skimp on the size or quality. Staff were friendly, although service was a little slow as it was fairly busy when I went and only person was mixing ice cream. I would definitely go back - can't wait to try other flavours and get one of the fresh waffle cones that make the shop smell so amazing. read more

While the location of this spot isn't ideal (though I work nearby, I'm not usually in Clayton Park when looking for ice cream), Marble Slab offers my favorite hand-paddled ice cream in the city. The always seem to have lots of ice cream flavors to choose from - red velvet was a recent discovery that I love - and tons of toppings. My favorite combo? Cheesecake ice cream with fresh raspberries and graham cracker. Plus, you're welcome to sample flavors before making your decision. Love this little gem of an ice cream shoppe. Upon arriving expect to be on sensory overload: there's so much to look at and smell and taste...it can easily become overwhelming. They are more than happy to allow you to sample as many of their ever-changing flavors as you'd like. Their ice creams are rich, creamy and so flavorful. I love that they source the dairy for the ice creams locally and the ice cream is made right in the shoppe itself. Due to the price of their frozen treats I somehow don't think this could become my "go-to" ice cream stop: a small ice cream cone with 2 mix-ins = over $8! I am new to Marble Slab but I am very impressed, they had a great selection of flavours and they let you try them before purchasing. It may be dangerous that I live so close because I know I will want to go back very soon. They don't only have a great selection of add ins. On my visit I had cookie dough and crispy crunch bar in peanut butter ice cream and it was a really good blend ... but the ice cream was good enough to stand alone . I know for sure I will be back and would like to try a different blend but could also see me just even getting a plain ice cream because it was so good. They also offer frozen yoghurt that I would really like to try. read more

I have tried a few of the ice cream and yogurt flavours, but pina colada frozen yogurt is my favourite. Unfortunately, superior quality also costs more money - so it isn't a regular stop for me and based on the cost, I cannot provide 5 stars. A new addition to the Clayton Park neighbourhood, I'm sure this place has had no shortage of visitors in its first few weeks. A huge Coldstone Creamery fan myself, I was anxious to try this competitor, which is closer to home than the nearest Coldstone. After two visits, I'm a little bit on the fence. The menu selection is huge and I found myself wishing for more pre-conceived mixups on the menu, as dozens or flavours and mix-ins makes it almost impossible for me to decide. Our first visit was foiled by an underweight staff member, who could've put a little more elbow grease into mashing up our mix-ins into the ice cream. It was tasty all the same, just a wee bit chunkier than it should be. The second time, we opted for overpriced ice cream cupcakes. They're tasty, not too huge, and available in multiple flavours. It was good, but I'm still not sure it's a good as Coldstone. I'm wondering, why mess with a good thing? read more

This is a great little ice cream spot in Clayton Park! I actually got a flyer in the mail outlining coupon specials so my first visit was the end of June with my DD as a treat for grading day. The ice cream is awesome - very creamy and fresh. LOVE the Sweet Cream flavour! Lots of variety of mixings to choose from and I found the staff very friendly. What I did not like was the wait to get served - it really is Catch 22 as it takes a while to mix the ice cream, ring someone in, wash your hands (which I was glad to see) so lineups can form very fast. However, the end result is worth the wait! I found the prices a little steep and there is no way I will ever pay $6 for a milkshake but this place is a great addition to Clayton Park and I hope it does well. read more

Unlimited mixins, various dipped cones and a huge variety of store made ice cream flavors, makes this shop one of my favorites! Very friendly staff! They let you sample anything you like. The price is a bit high however they are always sending out ads in the mail with coupons for BOGO and other deals. First, when I'm in line I normally expect the server to take my order when I'm next. Apparently, not here. By the time she'd finished my husbands cone it was half melted. My chocolate sundae was a complete mess, with a very light drizzle of chocolate ( she managed to get more on the outside of the cup than on the ice cream), and dropped the cherry on the floor while busy trying to wipe up the chocolate. A regular sundae and a regular cone (no extra dipped cone that would have cost another $1.50 plus tax) came to well over $15. Oh, I asked for vanilla ice cream for the sundae. It's 7pm on a Tuesday and they're out of vanilla? Are you kidding me? I used to enjoy marble slab when they first opened in London, Ontario, but this isn't the same experience, at all. read more

I had a coupon from the newspaper for two medium cones for $5, I suspected it would be just like Cold Stone creamery and it was. I was disappointed there was no frozen yogurt in the case so I had lactose free ice cream. The ice cream product is not good it has a lot of fillers and pumped air leaving it tasting gummy. Of course lots of candies to mix in but for a generic low quality ice cream you may as well get a flurry from McDonalds across the parking lot. read more
