From the first few emails I knew that Josh was going to be great to work with. He listened to all of my ideas and together we came up with a delicious menu. He had so many amazing dishes as inspiration and really created the perfect menu for me and my guests. Josh answered all of my emails promptly and with such a kind attitude. We all absolutely loved the amazing food and the entire experience! Honestly, everyone was talking about it for days afterward. It was such a unique experience for each of us. None of us have ever been treated to such a special meal in a private home. There were many great comments about each course but the Oregon Mushroom Soup was the favorite for many! My sister doesn't usually like mushrooms but convinced herself to try the soup and then decided it was her favorite course ~ of course she loved everything else too. Josh and his assistant India were just so pleasant and approachable. That made a huge difference to the experience. We loved having both of them in our home. And... they cleaned everything up! I'm very particular about my kitchen and they didn't disappoint in that respect either. I could go on and on but really just want to say that Josh exceeded all expectations. We hope to have another occasion to work with him in our home.

While we were touring Oregon wine country, Chef Michelle and her assistant Gina were busy preparing us a feast for our return. As soon as we opened the door, we were met with glorious smells and smiling faces from them both. We started our meal with finely chopped mixed fruit that I would say was reminiscent of a fruit salsa. The fruit was sweet and refreshing. Then we fantastically arranged charcuterie board that had all types of fruits, cheeses, crackers, dips and breadsticks. We didn't know where to begin because we also had blue corn chips, salsas and fresh made guacamole on the table. Deliciousness at its finest! Our main meal was tilapia fish for tacos, a blend of vegan chorizo potatoes and spices for a vegan option, rice, beans and a mix of flour and corn tortillas. When I say all the food was fresh and flavorful and all the flavors just engaged so well with each other, that would be an understatement!!! This was a culinary party at its finest and I'm so happy I was able to have this experience while visiting Oregon. Both Chef Michelle and Gina went above and beyond to assure we were well taken care of and Gina even played shoulder shaking music to keep us grooving while we enjoyed our meal. If you are ever looking for a personal chef with very personal touches, Chef Michelle will not disappoint.

She emailed me within 48 hours a nice menu including appetizers and dessert. I was very impressed. I had two ladies within my group whom were vegans and vegetarians and she ensured our meal would work to their palette. When I made the decision to work with Michelle, the professionalism continued. Me and Michelle kept in contact and right up to the event to confirm the menu details, the deposit, etc. On the day of our dinner, we entered the home and the aura of the food and the presentation was amazing. We started our meal with a fruit pico de gallo mix with fresh fruit that was absolutely devine. She also arranged a charcuterie board with fresh hummus, variety of cheeses and crackers. There was also a salsa tray with blue chips, fresh made guacamole and two different types of salsa. Our main meal included tilapia, blend of chorizo potatoes, rice and beans and mix of corn and flour tortillas. She ensured everyone's needs were met and me and my friends enjoyed every bit. I hired Brittany to cater a small wedding reception dinner for 6 people (my new husband, my mother,…read moremyself, and 3 friends) at a friend's home in Garden Home. From beginning to end, she was a pleasure to work with: her website was beautiful and clear, which gave an accurate idea of available food options, and then, in every correspondence, Brittany was quick to respond with availability, pricing, and other details. While we were at the courthouse, Brittany showed up with plenty of time to spare and started preparing things. By the time we returned home, there were salted marcona almonds waiting for us as a simple appetizer as her delicious filo tartlets finished up. The tartlets were tremendously satisfying: enjoyed as a finger food, served cupped in a wonderfully light and crisp filo exterior with a delicate and savory creamy interior, beautifully gilded with edible flowers. Brittany then plated and served us the remaining three courses at the dining table. First was a beautiful mixed greens salad with fresh ripe berries and a wonderfully creamy and mild goat cheese (which pleased even my mom, who's picky about non-cow cheese and dressings other than ranch). That was followed by tender and juicy lamb chops (ringed with a delicious mint and marcona almond pesto). We ended with a satisfying and light cheesecake tart shingled with ripe stone fruit. Brittany kept an attentive eye on us, helping keep our glasses full and ensuring good pacing between courses. She left the kitchen clean and organized and was a calm and friendly presence throughout the meal. I'm so glad I thought to look around for a home chef as an alternative to dining out after my wedding--it made for a much more memorable, intimate, and stress-free experience than going out. If you're looking for an intimate or classy in-home or catered food experience, I can't imagine a better choice than Brittany.
