I had the chicken döner and it was delicious! That pita alone was enough reason to return!

I'm married to a German. Döners are hard to come by in the U.S. when we saw a food truck here in PDX metro, we had to try it. First time there, we ate every morsel. When we went back (last weekend), it was not as good. The bread was dry like it had been cut open and left on the counter all day. I get the chicken, and the hubs gets the beef & lamb mix. We are sad that the quality (which was ok level before but now is missing), it does not taste authentic and we won't be back unless desperate. The shared restrooms in that food truck lot are disgrossting, and inspired me to ride with a full bladder nearly an hour to get back to Beaverton rather than use their facilities. Parking is terrible. read more

I don't have many options to eat döner kebab where I'm from so I was excited to try this out while visiting Portland. It didn't disappoint. The bread was airy and crispy but still had the doughy feel when eating it. Lots of meat in this too. The lady in this food truck was friendly too. It's a nice food option that's towards the back of this food truck place. read more

This is definitely the most authentic Döner kebab that I've found since leaving Germany. The portion was big and with lots of tasty lamb. The wrapper was also exactly like the real German ones! The only criticism is that it needs more of the tangy garlicky sauce that they use in Germany. read more

We ordered lunch from this german/turkish food cart on a Sunday afternoon. There was no wait to order and service was attentive and efficient. We got the lamb and beef kebab flatbread sandwiches, and they were made with fresh ingredients and tasty. Even the homemade flatbread was different than what we're used to, it was light and airy and made the sandwich unique. We were able to enjoy our meals in the Piedmont Station outdoor seating, the place fairly empty while we were there, so plenty of space available. read more

Love love love this place. The first really great kabab I've had in Portland. Slices of really well seasoned lamb and beef off of the spit, sandwiched between tomato, yogurt sauce, cabbage and onion between crispy toasted flatbread. So tasty, the lady that owns this business was so exceptionally kind, she saw that I was using a cane (waiting for a knee replacement), so she went over to the beer truck and brought back a beer for me. I haven't had Doner Kabob like this since I was in Germany. I wish she would add wursts. I will be back to try all of the offerings. read more

Live in the neighborhood and just discovered this place. Ordered the lamb döner Kebab and the falafel sandwich. Both were very yummy. Ingredients tasted fresh and the sandwiches were easy to eat. Reminds me of the little stands in the German train stations that serve these types of sandwiches to eat on the go. The falafels were crispy and flavorful which sometimes can be hard to find with a falafel. The lamb tasted like it was on one of those turning things and carved from it. I guess since döner means to "turn", it would make sense to make the meat this way to get the even cook and right amount of texture for the lamb. The menu at the place was simple and the food quality was very good. Would recommend to try this place for a nice delicious lunch! read more

I always love going here. They have the perfect flavors and bread for all of their sandwiches. I usually get the chicken doner kebab but was feeling falafel today. The falafel had a nice texture and were ever so sumptuous. The tahini was just a bit more acidic than I had planned so I will probably go with the yogurt sauce in the future. We went to the Lent's Farmers Market and ran into a Turkish guy. He told us about Doner Land and said that it's one of the most authentic Turkish food in this area. He also added that the owners are not Turkish. The husband is from the far east, and the wife who's also the chef is from Germany. Ten seconds later, we were heading over there. When we got there, we realized that they are one of the carts in Piedmont Station Food Carts. The menu is not extensive, but we knew we want to have the Doner Sandwich. The decided to go with chicken because I don't like lamb. I practice the little German that I know with the chef. She asked if we wanted the sandwich cut in half which we did. Each half was wrapped nicely. The sandwich was as authentic than anything you can have in Turkey or Germany (there are 4 million Turkish people in Germany...). Except it tasted better than anything I tried in either country. Both owners were friendly as you probably guessed. I want to go back again tomorrow to try the other things that were on the menu. read more

Regular lamb/beef döner kebab was outstanding! I was sad I had to share it (granted, I was also shared a plate of amazing tacos but tbh I didn't want to share any of it!). They were so kind to cut the sandwich in half for us. I was nervous that it would cause the sandwich to fall apart, but it held its own very well. The meat was so well seasoned and tender, and the rest of the ingredients were bright and delightful. And I loved the bread. Quick, filling, and ~$10 meal in Portland you can't beat! I tried both the chicken and lamb Döner kebabs and both were filled to the brim. Wrapped well so everything doesn't fall out but can get a little messy so be sure to grab napkins! I enjoyed the bread they used as it brings back then memories of having Döner kebabs in Germany for the first time. I just wished the bread was a little more toasted and also had some spicy red sauce to add on top of as well. Another great spot in the Piedmont Station Pod. I've tried the regular lamb/beef Doner Kebab and and Falafel Sandwiches and loved both. I'm not a falafel expert but the outside was nice and crispy with a moist inside without being mushy. You're gonna want to get the feta for an extra couple bucks (if I were them, I would just do the upcharge and not even give you the choice). I'm not sure exactly what doner is, if it's German or middle eastern or Greek or what but this place is different from other places I've tried in that they use a flatbread instead of a pita wrap or toasted flour tortilla, giving it a lighter, fluffier taste and feel. Though I probably usually will prefer the denser pita bread or tortillas, i really enjoyed the change of pace in this one and no complaints on anything. read more

I am not sure where they get the lamb, or where it is sourced (Is it Gyro meat rather than Dönerkegel?). Whatever they do with it, it is good. In Germany and most of Europe they make Chicken and even vegan Dönerkegels these days. I wish there were a good source for folks here in the USA. This sandwich put me in my happy place. I ordered mine with extra meat. I didn't ask for extra hot peppers or sauce, but I have some at home. Next time! I have been all over the world in search of good Döner. Berlin, Munich, Amsterdam, Toulouse, Paris. I have had Döner Dürüm (my favorite), Nan Döner (actually amazing), and typical Döner kebab. I have even visited a Döner place that makes beef Döner in Nova Scotia. So, I know my Döner! This stuff is a great treat, and worth the trip if you do not live in this part of the city. The only place to get döner in the PDX area and as authentic as you can get here (and I'm German). It's great being able to get a taste of home. The bread and yogurt sauce are especially fantastic. Always delicious and the owner is super friendly and from Germany as well. I flippin' love this place. I've only ever gotten the falafel pita sandwich so I cannot personally speak to any other dish, but what I've had is really excellent. Many falafel sandwiches suffer from dryness, especially when you go with a tahini sauce over a tzatziki or other dairy-based sauce; this one does not. The tahini sauce isn't overtly present and yet somehow it makes its presence known through a subtle yet omnipresent flavor and its noted lack of dryness. The falafel was tender, as well. I also love the purple cabbage the put into their falafel sandwiches; it is both lovely a lovely pop of color for the sandwich and lends a nice flavorful crunch. It's also a pretty big sandwich with a good amount of falafel. I'm a ~160lbs dude with a normal appetite and I'm satisfied by just the sandwich every time. All in all, one of my top two falafel sandwiches in Portland. I'll keep coming back again and again! read more

The Lamb Doner was good. Didn't blow me away. The meat was a bit dry and overseasoned, the condiments were a bit sparse, and the pita wasn't quite as soft and absorbent as I'd like. Heard this place was great. Maybe the chicken is good? I went there with my friend this afternoon, got the falafel salad. Portland seems to have more and more falafel these days, but I must say, this might have been the worst I've ever had. They were made pancake style, which would have been fine if 1) they had any flavour whatsoever 2) they had some sauce or something on them 3) they weren't burned. The cook tried to scrape the burned bits off. On my very very first trip to Portland, I am delighted to see food pods, which are commonplace and scattered throughout the city. The Bay Area in which I live has very few establishments like this, instead opting for moving food truck events. I rather like these cute little neighborhood carts/trucks/shacks. I was searching for a delicious, quick lunch and craving some delicious meats and veggies in a combo that wouldn't be too heavy. Enter PDX Dönerländ. The owner was incredibly friendly and let us take our time perusing the menu. I ordered the döner salad with chicken ($9). The yogurt was cold and tangy. The tomatoes were fat, juicy, and sweet. The mixed greens were fresh. There was plenty of delicious meat too! The only thing I might suggest is to dial back on the dressing a bit, as it collected into a watery pool at the bottom of my salad and was altogether rather salty. I had a bite of my friend's lamb döner kebab ($9) with the made-from-scratch bread and it was delectable and full of meat as well. Altogether, lovingly prepared and delicious food! I was torn about how to review this sandwich, it was a good lamb sandwich (lamb Doner), bread was crispy and soft and obviously fresh, vegetables were fresh and good quality the yogurt sauce could've done with more garlic, but the lamb; it was too thin, too dry and not warm enough. But that is me being critical as I have had every type of Mediterranean lamb sandwich that you can sample all around the world. And it was just good, not great.
