I attended this Yelp event this location in Brandon prior to its grand opening. Prior to this event I thought PDQ was just another chicken place. This event showed me how completely wrong I was. We started with a tour of the facility from the front of the house to the back of the house. The tour began with an explanation of the concept and reason for the transition to the quick service restaurant format in the industry. We had the opportunity to meet the general manager of the Brandon location as well as managers from other locations and representatives from the corporate office. The tour was very informative and I am glad that it was a part of the event. PDQ stands for People Dedicated to Quality and from my experience they truly are. Everything at this restaurant is FRESH, organic, preservative and hormone free. All of the items are made IN HOUSE. There is not even a freezer in the establishment. Let me repeat that NO FREEZER, nothing is ever frozen. We watched the staff prep everything from fresh squeezed lemonade to salads with all of the fixings, hand breaded chicken tenders, hand cut french fries and all of the condiments and sauces. Even the ice cream and bread is sourced and made especially for PDQ to assure that it aligns with their standards. We were allowed to sample anything we wanted on the menu. I had to make sure my ears were not deceiving me but they were not, we were encouraged to try whatever we wanted. They knew how to make me a fan, didn't they! I personally tried the spicy buffalo tenders sandwich with french fries, the grilled chicken salad, lemonade, the Cap 'N Crunch Berries milkshake of the month, the Oreo milkshake and the oatmeal cranberry cookie. Overall I enjoyed all of the food I tried. I would ask for my dressing on the side next time because I did not prefer the berry ginger dressing which accompanied it. I love french fries and these were pretty good, I especially loved that they were salted perfectly. Although I loved both shakes, the crunch berry feature was a nice surprise. The cookie was freshly baked and still soft, it was great treat for the end of the meal. I discovered several items which I would order again for sure on another visit. After learning about their dedication to quality and they way its reflected in the food preparation, I would definitely recommend you give this place a try. Went here for the first time ever NYD 2015. My boyfriend got the Buffalo Chicken Tender Sandwich & I got the Crispy Chicken Sandwich.....both were AMAZING.....lots of tender and juicy perfectly fried chicken! The homemade Ranch dressing was absolutely fabulous and the service super friendly & fast! After a long time not picking up any drive-thru orders, we decided to have a treat and pick up PDQ after visiting their website and seeing the safety measures that were going to be in place. All employees wearing masks and gloves as well as a touch less payment option (letting customers swipe the card ourselves). We waited in the drive thru line and saw a man wearing a mask taking orders. I also was wearing a mask during our entire experience. When it was time to pay I asked about the touchless payment and the gentleman said he didn't know about it but could take my card and swipe it himself. I had no choice but to pay that way although I was ready with a touchless tap and pay. The menu is extremely limited and they said this is the menu until further noticed. No Cesar salad, no tots, no string fries,no zucchini fries, only one bowl option, only waffle fries, and sold out of milk. I ordered a Cali bowl grilled add queso (paid extra for the queso). When I pulled up to the drive thru window the man greeting me did not have a mask on and was not wearing gloves. He kept leaning towards the window and I was so shocked for there not to be a mask on. Then I looked past him and no other employee that I could see were wearing masks or gloves. There are not enough words to express the amount of disappointment in this PDQ franchise. We get our food home. My meal did not have queso (glad I paid extra for that) all the fries were cold and over cooked and at least the chicken was hot. My food had no sauce of any kind. So it was a bowl of unflavored rice, corn, black beans, broccoli, and grilled chicken. I was so shocked. This was not a busy location and then the no masks and now my order wrong?? Life is hard enough right now, taking the extra time for attention to detail is the least that could happen. The employees were happy and talking and joking with each other, so they were not having a bad day that I could tell, but their oversight turned mine in to one. We will not be returning to this location ever again and will be sharing our unfortunate experience with others as we feel if the website expresses there are precautions in place, they should be followed. If the precautions had been adjusted, this should be shared on the website just as the first ones were in order to keep customers up to date. Waited at the counter for almost 10 minutes. Lots of of employees looked at us, but no one came to take our order. I said excused me a moment before we left and at least 3 employees looked at us and still no one came to even talk to us. We decided to leave. Hadn't been here in a while so went today for our usual, Classic Chicken Salad (grilled). We were disappointed to see it wasn't on the menu any longer:( The drive thru order taker said it was now called Crispy Chicken Salad. I stopped by and had their chicken nuggets. Cooked fresh, breast meat nuggets. They have a large variety of dipping sauces, and you can choose multiple ones (they come in little cups) for free. As with a new place, I first try the food without adding any sauce or seasoning, in this case dipping sauce. The result was basically flavorless. I tried a couple of the dipping sauces, and they were okay. The nuggets came with fries, which were fresh and tasty, just a fairly small portion. I got the grilled chicken sandwich and my girlfriend got the buffalo bleu sandwich. They were both $4.50 each and pretty different, but were equally as great. The grilled chicken sandwich has lettuce, tomato, pickles and honey mustard. The buffy bleu sandwich only came with the chicken coated in buffalo sauce, but since my sandwich came with a lot of lettuce and I don't like tomato or pickles she could make her sandwich more fulfilling. The buffy bleu is pretty mild but still had a powerful taste. I recommend this place to everyone. Chick-Fil-A can't compare. PDQ has a much bigger menu and more chill atmosphere read more

Decided to do online ordering to avoid long wait in drive thru. The food was bagged and waiting upon pick uo. After we left PDQ Brandon we discovered that both orders of waffle fries were soggy and cool to the touch. My daughters chicken strips were fresh warm and tasty. I had ordered a spicy chicken sandwich that was colder than the fries. I picked up the food at the time allocated, and should have opened and ensured food was warm. I don't eat fast food often, but on occasion I swing into this PDQ because it is "better" fast food than most and it's convenient to my office. Waited 20 minutes in line before I was told to park - as a customer behind us only ordered apple slices and called the store (from the line) to complain. Several times at this location and every time I swear it's the last. Food is okay, but it's hard to be impartial after the service level. I have frequented PDQ locations around the Tampa Bay area since they first came on the scene and out of the 5 or 6 times I have visited this location I always leave feeling less than thrilled with the customer service which is usually on par with the food at a high level. Today I called ahead before visiting to see if the dining room was open yet and if Totchos were back on the menu. I was told dining was only until 4pm and totchos were gone forever but they now had Wachos (Waffle Fries and toppings). I proceeded to the drive through after 5pm with my family to order food. When I ordered the first thing I ordered were Wachos to which the employee named Kevin yelled at me that they had a select menu and that wasnt available. I asked if he was serious because of his aggressive tone and he said yes. I told him that I was confused because I had just called and was told they had them. He kept his same tone and said "We don't!". I was still perplexed and asked if they had waffle fries and he said yes (which was a different tone). Then I asked what they were missing to make the Wachos to which he went back to his aggressive tone and repeated that they have a select menu and they dont have it. I asked to speak to his manager and told him that he was being rude. He then walked one step and spun around to yell at me that I was rude. I put my car in park to wait for his manager. Kevin then leaned out of his window to yell out of his window "What are you going to do?!?! Get out of your car and fight me?!?!". Then proceeded to just stand at the window staring at me. I then yelled at him to get his manager loud enough so that his manager could now hear so he had to go get him rather than taunt me. The manager Jaime came to the window and I explained what had happened and he was able to communicate like a normal person who works in a customer service industry. I declined his offer to make my food because at this point I didnt want any food that Kevin could possibly tamper with since it was also for my family. After my repeated so-so experiences capped off by this over the top experience I would suggest that nobody patronage this location at all. Go to the location on Big Bend & 301 or get your chicken fix at Chick-Fil-A on Causeway Blvd. The only reason this review even gets 2 stars is because of the manager Jaime. PDQ needs to look into this location and do some retraining or something because this is not the PDQ standard we know and love. Extremely disappointed in my visit this past Tuesday. I ordered the crispy chicken sandwich meal. The cashiers were friendly and quick. We got our drinks and sat down. Then we waited. And waited. And waited. After waiting almost 10 minutes, the manager let's us and the others know that fresh fries were about to come up. Perfect. It still took a few minutes but eventually our food came out. The problem with the wait is that I think they made my sandwich right after I placed my order, then it sat out while they waited on fries. It was cold and hard to chew. The fries were alright, nothing special. The manager did come over and check on us and we did let him know about the cold food. He did offer to replace the sandwich or give us a milkshake, which we did appreciate, but declined. I don't like complaining and didn't want to wait on another sandwich. There's really nothing special about this place that I've noticed in my 1st 3 visits, other than the fried turkey sandwich - can't order that too many places. The fries are so-so, soggy 5 minutes after I picked up my order. The chicken sandwich is good, but it's not Chick-fil-A either. All in all, given the choices in the area, I may return for the turkey sandwich but that's about it. I've had a good array of the menu items and I always walk away satisfied but a little underwhelmed. I really am a big fan of experiences and for a fast-food/fast-casual place PDQ really delivers on an amazing customer service experience. Every step of the way it's evident that the management and staff of PDQ are on their game from decor, to watching their procedures in the kitchen, to how they interact with each other, how they interact with customers, cleanliness, adding little bits like the cornhole toss out front--they take great pride in their work. The food is very good too. I have the tenders most of the time when I go there, but my favorite item is the grilled turkey sandwich. It's like having thanksgiving in a sandwich. I keep coming back because in addition to a meal that I enjoy, I feel like the people at PDQ care that I came there.
