I needed to install a larger internal drive, but when I attempted to copy everything to transfer to the new drive, the process hung up at the end, and all the paths to locate the files on the original drive were wiped out. The unsuccessful copy was useless, and my attempts to restore the paths using third-party software failed. OK, so it was time to try restoring the most recent backup from an external drive, but that failed as well. Fearing the worst, I took everything to PC Place, where Charles was confident that the files could be recovered one way or another. He explained clearly what steps he recommended and what my options might be. After analyzing the situation, recovering everything from the backup seemed most promising. It took several days to accomplish it all, including installing new internal drives, preparing a new external backup drive, and performing a general tune-up of the system. After a nail-biter of a week, ALL my data files were restored exactly as they had been - whew!! Charles also provided recommendations for maintaining the system in the future. The charge for their services seemed reasonable, and it was worth every penny!

He keeps pushing you to pay $50 for a consulting fee without detailed explanation of his capabilities and any assurance whatsoever that he can get the job done. When this was SIMPLY and respectfully stated to him as a potential customer concern, he threw a tantrum like a little kid and hung up like a little punk. Computers are major purchases where you are spending as much as $3000 or more!!! Thats not chump change in this current economy. The face and crystal shattered. I landed kinda on my watch, kinda on my helmet, mostly on the armor... The O2 ban was in strong effect, which could have been the end for me. With a terminal lung disease, that watch is my "should I put my oxygen on " lifeline. I explained my situation to the person who helped me. They empathized (without apologizing... seriously, if you know someone that's dying, don't apologize unless you are the reason!) She explained the situation to me, I understood: probably no functioning O2, for the foreseeable future. Watch got back early. Their no fix policy on broken watch faces had me a little sad. I charged it on the ride home, put it on, and absently checked my O2. This store, and Apple, went the extra mile to find a visible replacement, a pre ban manufactured ultra 2. My oxygen was at 94. THAT. The extra for a customer whose life would have been severely affected, and whose lifetime income generation CANNOT exceed 9,000, because of simple known life expectancy. That is the above and beyond that landed 5 solid stars, a lifetime brand loyal customer, and a recommendation from a person who spent 25 years in the infotech, infosec, and cybersecurity sectors.
