Place is definitely a hidden gem among barber shops. Found this on Yelp due to reviews on my way to…read morethe city during a weekend evening. Luckily, they allow drop-ins. They did have a decent crowd waiting, but that's probably a good problem to have for a place you've never tried before unless you're in a rush. I was paired with Courtney, and she was amazing. Knew exactly what I was looking for, no miscommunication whatsoever, and even pointed out a couple of things that could enhance my look and style (even gave me tips on my eyebrows). She was a pleasure to talk to, something that's somewhat of a lost art in barbers from my experience in the last few years at other barbers. Overall, great experience. It's a little out of my way locally, but worth adding to my must-stops on my frequent trips to and from the city going forward. Ask for Courtney - you won't regret it. One small piece of advice from a new client: give your barbers more freedom to connect with their clients and the ability to advertise their work, such as personalized business cards, publish professional-grade photos of the work being done, tagging through social media, etc. Doing so can really help boost your business, especially in social media which is essentially free marketing, by widening your outreach as well as further broaden your bandwidth and bond between your barbers and clients/potential clients. I can tell you as a customer that I tend to stick to businesses that 1. captures my attention in the first 2-4 seconds when I do a Yelp/Google/Foursquare search, 2. keeps me coming back by the excellence in service, and 3. my personal connection with the staff that works there. I was lucky to have found you by pure chance and desperation when I did a 10 mile search on what's opened that evening while on I-84. Otherwise, MC Barber wouldn't have appeared on my radar.

Finally found Madison after half a year of bad haircuts. Ever since I lost my last hairstylist who…read moreswitched to a different line of work, I've had the hardest time finding someone who knows how to cut short Asian hair. A friend suggested I try a barber shop, and good riddance to all the salons who charge me $50+ for a "women's haircut" when their men's cuts (read: short hair) are much cheaper. Other than Madison's uncanny ability to know exactly what I want with my vague descriptions, what I love about Constitution Plaza Barber Shop is they charge one flat rate for everyone. My biggest pet peeve is when I have to pay a haircut upcharge for no apparent reason other than identifying as female. It's really convenient now that my husband and I can get our hair cut at the same place, and Madison does as great and as consistent a job on his fine, curly hair as she does with mine. For safety reasons, for now they are requiring people wear masks at all times inside and to stay in your car while you're waiting. They have sanitizing procedures between each appt and hand sanitizer at the door. They do take walk-ins typically but I do recommend booking ahead, especially now. Also they're cash only so make sure you bring extra for tip!

This is fine, but it was always packed and they rushed people through their chairs. The second did not do kids cuts so I would not be able to bring my kids. So I ditched them quick. The last one only took walk ins so everyone puts there name on a list and they get to you in order. The problem with them was that they allowed people to call ahead and just show up and bump others who waited in the shop. This ended up taking hours to wait if I brought my two boys with me. TenFortyNine only takes appointments and they take their time to make you feel like an important customer... not just another 25 bucks. This will be my barber shop going forward!

Even though I wear my hair in 1970s and '80s semi-punk rock-style, he's able to make it work, while keeping it styled. After he's cut the hair, and it starts to grow back in again, is when you can see how good his work really is. He provides little extra touches, like cleaning-up the eyebrows, and removing excess nostril-hair. Joe has a fun personality, and he's proud of his Italian heritage. He is knowledgeable about many things, including food. Somewhat of an old-school barber shop atmosphere, with lots of successful business-types stopping in for a cut. Sometimes, some of the unusual neighborhood people come wandering in with bizarre requests and/or comments. Well worth the $20 fee. Overall, I highly recommend Joe at Rosetta's.
