Arrived 15 minutes early, waited outside. Appt was for 10 am. Walkin arrived and got taken right away....yet I had to wait. 10:05 cam and i had to ask what the issue was. Apparently owner was filming a Youtube so he was busy. Never apologized for being late and said "it is what it is"....my response was F...Off!! No respect for the customer and this business owner is too full of himself. read more

Now at new location 1427 Berlin Tpke, Berlin CT. Easy access from the turnpike, private parking lot. New location looks great, nice retail selection in the waiting area, self-read digital temperature check station to the left when you enter the doors. MC still provides the best haircuts around, and his new location looks great and is spacious and comfortable. There is classroom space in a room just off the main barbershop floor. New hair washing stations are set up, hair wash with scalp massage was very relaxing! read more

My husband and I were on a country wide hear long RV trip with three young boys. We are originally from California and have had the same barber since they first started getting haircuts. Our trip is now over and we had some crazy cuts throughout it but by far, the BEST cut in the country, was done in CT by MC. His attention to detail and genuine passion for cutting hair shows. read more

I traveled in from Atlanta, Ga in need of a haircut. I saw this place on Yelp and said why not give it a try. It said reservations only but I had not made one. This place was clean and the haircut was awesome. They will do the cut you want so don't be afraid to tell them what you are looking for. This place does get busy so if you can call ahead I would. Oh and if you bring them an Starbucks Expresso with just a little bit of foam I am sure they would appreciate it. I wish my next cut I would not have to travel from Ga for. read more

Place is definitely a hidden gem among barber shops. Found this on Yelp due to reviews on my way to the city during a weekend evening. Luckily, they allow drop-ins. They did have a decent crowd waiting, but that's probably a good problem to have for a place you've never tried before unless you're in a rush. I was paired with Courtney, and she was amazing. Knew exactly what I was looking for, no miscommunication whatsoever, and even pointed out a couple of things that could enhance my look and style (even gave me tips on my eyebrows). She was a pleasure to talk to, something that's somewhat of a lost art in barbers from my experience in the last few years at other barbers. Overall, great experience. It's a little out of my way locally, but worth adding to my must-stops on my frequent trips to and from the city going forward. Ask for Courtney - you won't regret it. One small piece of advice from a new client: give your barbers more freedom to connect with their clients and the ability to advertise their work, such as personalized business cards, publish professional-grade photos of the work being done, tagging through social media, etc. Doing so can really help boost your business, especially in social media which is essentially free marketing, by widening your outreach as well as further broaden your bandwidth and bond between your barbers and clients/potential clients. I can tell you as a customer that I tend to stick to businesses that 1. captures my attention in the first 2-4 seconds when I do a Yelp/Google/Foursquare search, 2. keeps me coming back by the excellence in service, and 3. my personal connection with the staff that works there. I was lucky to have found you by pure chance and desperation when I did a 10 mile search on what's opened that evening while on I-84. Otherwise, MC Barber wouldn't have appeared on my radar. read more

Outstanding, Yeimi was excellent... very professional and courteous. Attention to detail was superb. Haircut and beard trim was precise and on point. Highly recommended. Will be back for sure read more

MC is by far the most skilled barber in the Hartford area! I moved away and still drive 1.5 hrs to get a cut from him. Be sure to book in 2-3 days in advance as he gets booked up quickly - easy enough now that you can book appointments online. Best scissor and fading techniques I have ever experienced after having tried out a lot of barbershops over the years! read more

Went to this place for the first time base on yelp reviews and the owner appears to be talented based on all his trophies. I went as a walk in and this is what I walked out with. If you're going to try this place, I'd recommend make a reservation with the owner. Literally, a skin shave at the bottom going half way up the side of my head to a full head of hair. Looks like I have a bowl cut. read more

It's hard to find a good dedicated barber. When I got my first haircut with MC Barber that was my last stop. Did I mention that this guy is a award winning barber ? Well yes he is. 100% satisfaction guaranteed and always on time. I love my new Barber. read more

MC Barber is the best. Don't take my word for it, get got a silver medal in an international competition. Always a great cut. Can be distracting when a student is observing and he is explaining what he's doing as he does it. Don't try to get an appointment with MC on the same day. He's usually booked out 3-5 days. But I think he's worth the wait! The results speak for themselves read more

I've been a customer and referring clients to MC's for years. He doesn't really advertise because "word of mouth" is essentially is all he ever needed to build the giant clientele he currently has. He's the recipient of numerous prizes and awards, just check out the trophy case in his shop or look up barber competitions has participated in. What you'll get: A top notch cut, guidance on style based on your physical features, a professional experience that will stay with you and have you comparing your current barber to MC. What you won't get: That uneasy feeling when trying a new barber, people drinking or being obnoxious, and getting ripped off. MC is an utmost professional that I have known for years his passion is his craft and it shows. Check out the reason why he's won so many awards or why clients drive hours to get a proper cut from him. Make sure to make an appointment as walk ins are almost impossible now because of the high demand for his time. You won't be disappointed. read more

Best place in Connecticut for a haircut . MC by far is the most professional barbershop in CT. You won't be disappointed

This is hands down one of the best barbershops I have been too. The attention to detail and classic style is hard to find. I absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking for an amazing barber. Having just moved to CT from Michigan, I have been looking for a Barber and am so glad to have come here. Looking forward to my next cut! Decorated with awards, you will not regret coming here! read more

This place was everything and more. Alberto, even though it was my first time ever there, he did a phenomenal job, perfect fade, I was so happy. Go here and you'll be very happy. read more

Best haircut for my husband by far And he always got his cuts in NY at QueensFinest.

MC is a great barber, period. I hesitate to call him a barber given today's low standards - he is far more than a "barber". Without exaggeration, I have been to 10 or more CT barbers - it is quite apparent I NEVER had a real haircut.....unit I met MC. MC is as professional as they come, taking the time to learn about his clients and ensuring the customer is more than satisfied with the finished product. It took me all of three minutes to see the pride MC takes in his work - something you do not see everyday. Be sure to take a look at his website. This guy is the real deal and wicked smart. You may even learn a thing or two! If you want to get the best haircut of your life, go see the "MC". PS. I never write reviews but this one is well deserved. read more

This barbershop is great and was not expecting such an amazing haircut, ask for Carlos he's the best of the bunch.

MC is hands down a very talented barber, I've been taking my 3 year old son here since he was 1, he is so patient, listens, and genuinely cares about his clients, my sons hair has always looked AMAZING! read more

Our hairdresser had retired, we all know what that's like if you really like them. So, I had seen an ad about MC Barber and decided to stop in this morning. When I walked in I asked the owner if he cut womens hair, he said not really but maybe one Barber would. I have a very short buzz cut, the Barber worked with me, asked questions all the way thru the process and I can tell you I will NOT miss my former hairdresser. My NEW Barber did a wonderful job, I LOVE what he did and will go back every 4 weeks. My husband plans on going this week as well. Thank you, Alison West read more

MC is truly a master barber, but an even better guy. Very professional and the conversation is great. If you want your hair done right, you gotta come here.So glad I heard about him from a friend and it killed me to lose him as a barber when I moved away. I'll definitely be back when I'm in the area. read more

I have been going to MC's barber shop for over the past 2 years (once a month) and I can tell without a doubt, he is the best barber I have used in my 31 years in CT. MC takes pride in his craft and in doing so has worked very hard to be the best in the state. Not once have I had a bad haircut from this establishment. Also, I really like that MC takes appointments, mostly appointment only since he usually book two or three days out when I call. MC also runs his barbershop in a very professional manner, especially in regards to hygienic safety, all cutting materials are disinfected and new straight edge razors for each customer. Along with the hair cut, I always have a fun time hanging out at the barbershop while I am getting my haircut. I highly recommend getting your hair cut at MC's Barbershop, while settle for an average hair cut in CT when you can get the best! read more

My hometown barber, the only place I trust in the area. Friendly, professional, always satisfied!

I'm from NYC and was expecting to get butchered. Boy was I wrong. Great cut cool workers. Def my new spot for cuts

Complete immaturity on MC behalf which is shocking due to the Personna of professionalism he puts off never been disrespected in front of my children the way I was today. He does not value or have any respect to any of his core customers no matter how much money you put into his barber shop, maybe it has to do with the reputation that his brand has built seemed to build some kind of arrogance. It's 2017 there is a new generation and a "new normal" not everyone believes in the same hairstyle my son is 3 years old and if you think making fun of a 3year old is "funny" or "cool" it's not and as a father I advise any parent especially the younger generation do not I repeat do not support this guy no matter of his skills he's been my barber for 2 years I have 3 boys who also go there and I always took care of him and his barbers if anyone goes there you know how expensive his prices are so in all aspects this barber shop is a no go in my book and I truly hope my experience today can be the voice of the reality of MC barber. read more
