I've been an anxious patient of Dr. Jarrett's for several years. I'd like to tell you about my most…read morerecent visit. I'll preface this by saying that my anxiety around dental procedures seems to be getting worse, not better, but thanks to Dr. Jarrett and his staff, I continue to get treatment. I was really anxious about my recent crown appointment and multiple things kept getting in the way, causing met to reschedule, which only added to the anxiety. Thankfully, Dr. Jarrett's office offers nitrous (for a small-ish fee). What I sincerely appreciate about his staff is that they don't judge when they know you need the nitrous to get through your appointment. I've never felt pressured NOT to get it. In fact, one of the staff members noticed that I didn't have it on there for my 2 week follow up, asked me about it, and promptly added it on. Anywho, the day comes, and I'm laying back in the chair, waiting, for the "party" to get started. Dr. Jarrett comes in, we catch up, he explains what's going to happen today and why he's placing the crown. Anxiety is, of course, building, I'm starting to sweat, and I just really don't want to be there, but this cracked tooth ain't gonna heal itself. Randomly, I'm just trying to think of anything that will make this better and I overhear the office music that's playing. I asked if any other patients were in the office at the time (I always book a late appointment), they say yes, one other, and I wonder out loud if we can turn the music up. Dr. Jarrett was like, "absolutely. We can turn it up on this side of the office." I don't know where this staff member came from, but almost immediately a voice asks if there's anything specific I want to listen to. At first, I was like, "No, I'm good." And then immediately followed up with, "Wait! Is Prince an option?" Ya'll when I tell you the relief that washed over me when they were all like, "We got you!" I can't even articulate. "1999" starts playing, the energy of the staff increases even though they're already SUPER friendly and I relax just a bit more. That is, until it's time for the needle... I had to ask for a break 3 or 4 times during the procedure, and each time Dr. Jarrett was immediately responsive, patient, and reassuring. He let me know where we were at each point in the procedure and let me know that I was doing great. I really have no justification for my anxiety as I've never had a truly bad experience, but my fear of dental pain is top notch. Dr. Jarrett and his team are so thoughtful, kind, patient, and accommodating that I know my family and I will be patients for years to come.

WARNING! In WA, you have the right to refuse any service you don't want. In the office of Dr…read more Jarrett, you lose that right. Either take everything THEY want you to have, or go find another dentist. My wife has very high levels of anxiety around dentists, so when our previous dentist of 10 years retired, it was a difficult time for her. I went first, and explained it to the staff and arranged for a simple 1 hour first visit. When she got there, they insisted I had told them she wanted a 2 hour visit using nitrous oxide. My wife called me, and I needed to clear it up on the phone because they wouldn't listen to her in the office. When I went in for a simple 1 hour cleaning, they insisted they wanted to do a whitening process that would take 2 hours. When I refused that service, they sent me a letter refusing any further service. All I heard was very nice words, but in this case, actions speak louder.

Maybe they decided to decline me service for some reason but even then it's still professional to tell someone. Would not recommend this place.

Totally understand why Dr. Larrance Commons sold his North City/Shoreline practice, as one of his…read morepatients since 2007. However, the transition period last fall was not optimal as it coincided with cracked fillings (originating from another dentist) and a chipped, then broken crown (darn choc chip cookies, cocoa nibs, artisan bread) that needed attention. Really I drank a dairy farm in my youth and I don't eat rocks for breakfast...teeth don't just break! Those were anxious times of no timely dental cleanings, rotating dentists and hygienists from agencies. Even waited in the parking lot with this motley crew. My replacement crown also went missing...guess it was totally done with the I-5 commute. That hot black market illicit cartel of custom made crowns or some squirrel wearing a tiara crown (pun intended). Yes, it was becoming that ludicrous. You have to laugh or break down and cry in frustration. Props go to *Kate* for holding the dental practice together where she even followed up with patients with her own cell phone. She was the main reason to stick it out, especially after yet another mortifying recent dental mishap breaking a front left crown (grapes)! All Family Shoreline Dental is now overseen by Drs. Sammy B.D. Pak and Negin Nazarian. No more revolving door of dental temporaries. I warily saw Dr. Nazarian 4/3/18, but she was professional, thorough, and put me at ease. She reattached my broken crown after Xrays and impressions were taken. She presented my permanent options moving forward. She reattached this crown again on 4/17/18 (baklava). I met Dr. Pak on my dreaded 4/26/18 appointment since I didn't know much about dental implants. Again, the information provided and his demeanor, I relaxed as best I could before the root canal post, dental bone extraction, and the new screw foundation were initiated. The audible drilling sounds were not great and I kept my eyes shut during the two hour procedure. Yes, the local area was numbed up and after was fitted with a temporary flipper retainer. Also, I was placed on short term antibiotic and pain management post treatment. I received a thorough follow-up via email about sutures and completed my one week appointment on 5/3/18. My son has his long overdue dental cleaning scheduled on 5/7/18 (so he will the first to report on the state of their dental hygienists) and my final dental implant session is not until 6/7/18. Seems lame to have dental appointments around our respective birthdays, but dental health is very important. Plus this Yelper wants to eat and resume my social calendar with confidence again! Dr. Pak, Dr. Nazarian, and their professional staff at All Family Shoreline Dental start a new chapter at this current, established location. It has been nothing but positive experiences moving forward.
