WARNING! In WA, you have the right to refuse any service you don't want. In the office of Dr. Jarrett, you lose that right. Either take everything THEY want you to have, or go find another dentist. My wife has very high levels of anxiety around dentists, so when our previous dentist of 10 years retired, it was a difficult time for her. I went first, and explained it to the staff and arranged for a simple 1 hour first visit. When she got there, they insisted I had told them she wanted a 2 hour visit using nitrous oxide. My wife called me, and I needed to clear it up on the phone because they wouldn't listen to her in the office. When I went in for a simple 1 hour cleaning, they insisted they wanted to do a whitening process that would take 2 hours. When I refused that service, they sent me a letter refusing any further service. All I heard was very nice words, but in this case, actions speak louder. read more

I've been an anxious patient of Dr. Jarrett's for several years. I'd like to tell you about my most recent visit. I'll preface this by saying that my anxiety around dental procedures seems to be getting worse, not better, but thanks to Dr. Jarrett and his staff, I continue to get treatment. I was really anxious about my recent crown appointment and multiple things kept getting in the way, causing met to reschedule, which only added to the anxiety. Thankfully, Dr. Jarrett's office offers nitrous (for a small-ish fee). What I sincerely appreciate about his staff is that they don't judge when they know you need the nitrous to get through your appointment. I've never felt pressured NOT to get it. In fact, one of the staff members noticed that I didn't have it on there for my 2 week follow up, asked me about it, and promptly added it on. Anywho, the day comes, and I'm laying back in the chair, waiting, for the "party" to get started. Dr. Jarrett comes in, we catch up, he explains what's going to happen today and why he's placing the crown. Anxiety is, of course, building, I'm starting to sweat, and I just really don't want to be there, but this cracked tooth ain't gonna heal itself. Randomly, I'm just trying to think of anything that will make this better and I overhear the office music that's playing. I asked if any other patients were in the office at the time (I always book a late appointment), they say yes, one other, and I wonder out loud if we can turn the music up. Dr. Jarrett was like, "absolutely. We can turn it up on this side of the office." I don't know where this staff member came from, but almost immediately a voice asks if there's anything specific I want to listen to. At first, I was like, "No, I'm good." And then immediately followed up with, "Wait! Is Prince an option?" Ya'll when I tell you the relief that washed over me when they were all like, "We got you!" I can't even articulate. "1999" starts playing, the energy of the staff increases even though they're already SUPER friendly and I relax just a bit more. That is, until it's time for the needle... I had to ask for a break 3 or 4 times during the procedure, and each time Dr. Jarrett was immediately responsive, patient, and reassuring. He let me know where we were at each point in the procedure and let me know that I was doing great. I really have no justification for my anxiety as I've never had a truly bad experience, but my fear of dental pain is top notch. Dr. Jarrett and his team are so thoughtful, kind, patient, and accommodating that I know my family and I will be patients for years to come. read more

I love this office! I have been a patient of Dr. Jarrett for about 5 years now. I followed my hygienist here after a long relationship with another dentist who retired after a long career. I knew she would be selective about who she went to work for, and that has proven wise. The office staff Stacey and Keri are amazing, friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The entire staff listens. I recently had an emergency, and they worked me into the schedule immediately. My care from Dr. Jarrett is excellent and outstanding. He is conservative in his treatment. At the same time, I trust him when told a matter is urgent. I have referred friends to this wonderful team, and will continue to do so. I plan to be a patient here for a very long time. read more

This would be a zero star if I could as I had the worst experience at this office. I am so GLAD that I am not a patient there, Stacey and Kari are the worse. They do not trat new patients really well and when they tell you a cleaing and r-rays are going to be almost $500 that day and not before.. well, my mom cancelled her appointment. The cost could have been in one of the 16 texts I got from Stacey. Then, I get a nasty email from Kari telling me that I am not welcomed there, and that she was just doing a courtesy visit but the established patients come fist. There was 2 of us and kari stated we wasted 3 hous, 90 minutes each but we had the same time so actually only 90 minutes. Did she stip to think about that maybe with all the texts from Stacey, that it took time for me to read them when I was at work? I thank GOD for them showing me that with my gut feeling that I should not go there. With noting stated to me from last August when I scheduled the appt to Jan 11, 2024, Nothing was stated to me about cost, cancelations or anything expect they were behind because of covid. In the following email you will see that Kari stated they were so busy that they have a wait list... Statcey stated it was because of Covid. Maybe they shouolod get on the same page so they both say the same lie. Enjoy your visit.. oh, one other thing... Stacey told me that my prior dentist, after 3 times of reaching out, did not send my records to them. I reached out to the that dentist and she had sent them via certified mail. Statcey signed for them. Yes I am going back to that denist (they are just a bit far for appts with my mom and work) as since my mom is 88 and can't offord $500 for a cleaning and works with her. "I am Dr Jarrett's office manager and have been informed about the cancellation of today's appointments at the time of service. "Our appointments are very valuable and highly sought after, so much so that we have a wait list". You both were scheduled for a total of 3 hours, 90-minutes each. We are actually not taking on new patients at this time, however we decided to accept you when you called as a courtesy. Because of today, I have canceled the upcoming scheduled April appointment. I recommend searching Yelp, Google, or other methods to find a new dentist near you." So, there you have it.If you are thinking about going here, please checkout other dentists first. I love this, "You both were scheduled for a total of 3 hours, 90-minutes each." So of course one of my beautiful veneers broke in half and of course it was in front. Not in pain but because of the Coronavirus not much I could do about it. I did email my dentist and thank god he saw patients one day a week for problems. Came in a few days later and he was able to cement it back in as a temporary fix. Bless him as his assistant for putting themselves out there to see people with tooth emergencies. Obviously they asked if I'd been sick or had a temp. Being an RN I would have never dealt with it if I thought I was ill. Here in Washington we have been pretty self quarantined. My husband and I are new to the area, and it's always nerve wracking to find new care providers. I'm thrilled to be able to say that Dr. Jarrett and his team were able to see my husband same day. He broke his last molar and had a pretty serious cavity situation underneath. They saved his tooth, beautifully filled it, and were wonderful to him the entire way through. I have been going here for a number of years, and over the course of these years there has been changes (with the dentistry/staff). To clarify, there are two different dentist businesses next door to each other. I attend Dr. Alex's one on the upper floor. The office itself is very clean, organized, but small. Yet the secretary who is always there is always talkative, bubbly (maybe too much), but is friendly. Wait time (when you have an appointment) is 5-10mins max. Staff is professional, tries to keep up a conversation with you (even though it can be difficult when you are getting your teeth cleaned!). The Dr. usually comes in after you get your teeth polished, cleaned, to check up on you (for those cavities.) A teeth cleaning process takes up roughly 40-50 minutes, depending if you have X-rays or other things done. In the end, you always get your brand new toothbrush, toothpaste (night & day), floss, and if needed, threaders. They used to give them out in a zip lock travel bag (so great for traveling, where you can use that!) but now they offer it to 1st time people, unless you request it. On my visit the other day, Cynthia even offered to give me one of those rings (usually goodies for children only). Now I have a pink, fashionable ring, and feel like a kid again. :) read more

When I called them to say I had a toothache, Dr. Jarrett talked to me personally on the phone, gave me his honest feedback, and scheduled me as soon as he had an opening. I'm one of those people who dreaded going to the dentist! Even to the point of putting it off for a decade or more at a time. I hated getting fillings, especially Novocain shots. Dr Jarrett changed that for me. He and his staff are caring and professional. They were very understanding and helped me get over my anxieties by addressing my concerns and being mindful of my comfort. I now look forward to my dental appointments and thanks to Dr Jarrett I have learned a few simple brushing techniques that have dramatically improved the health of my gums. The team at Dr. Jarrett's office is top-notch. I have had several cleanings as well as a tooth bleaching session today. The front desk receptionist (Kari) is incredibly kind, knowledgable and efficient. She runs that front desk promptly and knows how to manage all my insurance inquiries! I've never been to a better dentist. I had to get a cavity filled at my last appointment and I didn't even feel the injection site of the novocaine. Not only is Dr. Jarrett awesome, his hygienists are also incredibly friendly and thorough. You never leave feeling like you've been belittled for not flossing enough either (a typical problem for me). Yet I always feel encouraged to do better. Cant recommend these guys enough! Dr. Jarrett's father was my dentist for 20+ years and when I moved from the Eastside back to the Edmonds area, I was ecstatic to learn that Dr. Alex Jarrett was his Son and in my area! I'm very particular about who I see, going every 6 months and have had huge anxienty about finding a new dentist (I even considered making the commute back to the Eastside) so I would not have to... I can't say enough about Dr. Alex Jarrett!. His knowledge and gentle manner make for a perfect appointment. He is not overly aggressive in his treatment and communicates every detail during a procedure. I've had him do a little cosmetic work on my front teeth and he's done an excellent job! Dr. Jarrett has also surrounded himself with wonderful staff members. His assistant Dannika always greets you with her beautiful smile which extends through the appointment. Her concern for your comfort is ever present. And last but certainly not least is my hygienist Michelle. She is absolutely amazing! She is so gentle, has a wonderful personality and is great to communicate everything so you understand what's needed to prevent decay and keep a healthy mouth.
