Update 9.14.2024 Background It has been approximately five months since Carpet Wagon ("Payless") installed defective and/or damaged quartz in my home (which they have acknowledged). They have not honored my request to replace it notwithstanding my immediate reporting of the concern and my prompt responses to communication and request they have sent me. Payless has instead chosen to delay notwithstanding a previous promise to replace the product by September 16, 2024. Current Status Notwithstanding Payless' promise, they have informed me they cannot move forward unless I sign an agreement which reads in part, "Any inspection for quality control or defects must be done prior to fabrication." As any reasonably consumer knows, a lot can happen between product fabrication and transit to its final destination. It's absurd to ask a customer not to inspect the product upon delivery, especially since we're in this situation because they previously installed a defective/damaged product in my home. Please note that I already inspected the product at the stone yard and verified this with the company. Recommendation Please take my advice and do not patronize Carpet Wagon d.b.a Payless Kitchen. I encourage you to go look at the numerous 1 star reviews under both company names. I would be happy to speak with any potential customer of Payless and would be more than happy to show you my correspondence with various managers at the company, so you see the unprofessional communication first hand (I insisted on only communicating with them in writing after unclear and inconsistent communication). read more

I've hired them twice. The first time was great as they also put in a laundry area on top of doing cabinets. The second time, was a disaster as their sales person told me they still do laundry closets. The sales person told me that I could sign the contract for kitchen cabinets and we would do the laundry later. It turned out, they no longer did the laundry closets. I was angry that I was lied to just so their sales person could make a sale. Their contractor said that he would give me the name of a contractor outside of their business to do the laundry closets. It was the worst reference ever as the man just took my money and ran. The other contractor told me that the sub contractor that Payless Kitchen Cabinets uses lost his contractors license. I guess people of low moral character stick together. Also, if Payless Kitchen Cabinets does a backsplash for you in tile, it is of low quality. There are contractors out there that have better quality cabinets. read more

Payless Bath Makeover, Glendale, took out my tub/shower fiberglass and put in a walk-in shower December 22 and 23, 2023. Jesse was the worker. He has not been given the details of the design. The amount charged changed. Payless did not take debit or credit- only wanted a check. Jesse from Payless did not haul away the old tub/shower that had been demo'd. Payless never gave me a receipt or invoice. I had to pay for the old tub/showe to be hauled away. I submitted a complaint to the Better Business Bureau. I recently had my bathroom remodeled, it's a bathtub to shower conversion and I could say my wife and I are happy with the result. From getting the estimates from Tigran, He was able to "find" me all the discounts that I could get because initially I was a bit surprised of the total cost but he was able to explain the details, and yes, I forgot that I live in California where you can't really compare the prices in the East coast. The project coordinator Aldi John dela Cruz is absolutely amazing, he took the time to thoroughly explain every detail, he went line-by-line on the contract ensuring my wife and I understood the entire process. He was really good on giving me updates whenever there are changes or any issues along the way. Gregory did a good job on the final measurements to get everything ready for the final day--the tear-down and installation. I can not say enough good things about Julio, our installer, and his assistant who completed the job in one day, the original plan promised was 3 days but since they came in early and worked till late. Very professional, knowledgeable and respectful. Julio mentioned that there were past complaints about "California" water pressure of the new shower head---but when I tested it, I could say it's a non-issue. I'll have to wait probably another year or two to renovate my other bathroom, but I guess next time, I don't have to shop around anymore for other choices. read more

Before and during the old kitchen cabinet and countertop demolition they didn't install any dust controlling containment barriers to seal off the kitchen from the rest of the house, so consequently there ended up being a significant layer of dust on everything throughout the family room and living room. He also didn't cover the range top of the stove before demo. The cabinet installers damaged a section of the drywall; I had to have my painter repair. I had to have the cabinet installers back several times to adjust the cabinet doors. I paid extra to have their tile guy clean the kitchen and family room grout; he did a terrible job. The floor looked worse after he finished then it did before. I've had to hire a local firm to do the job correct with the correct equipment at less money than Payless charged. He also left a mess in my backyard including permanently staining the ground cover leaves with the white rinse from his tools. Several days after reinstalling the refrigerator it quit working because of loose wire connections on the new electrical plates they installed. pullout faucet weight on pull out sprayer hose was disposed of during demo so I had to buy a new one and have my plumber install it. While installing he immediately discovered dripping water at back of cabinet while removing the cabinet contents to install the replacement hose weight. He located the source of this leak coming from the hot water supply hose attached to the hot water angles top. This is the hose that's manufactured onto the kitchen faucet and is intended to be tightened two full turns past hand tight as per the manufacturer's installation instructions. This connection was over tightened and as a result the washer was broken into several pieces at the end of the hose. This leak was dripping at a steady rate onto the back section of the cabinet under the angle stop and running through the gap between the cabinet and drywall. There was a visible puddle of water adjacent to the cabinet underneath the dishwasher, sections of the new wood cabinet are and drywall behind cabinet where visibly wet. I had to immediately hire a water damage & restoration firm to mitigate the damage at a cost of $2,800. With their moisture reading instrument they detected high levels of moisture in the bottom wood structure of the sink cabinet, on the floor under the cabinet, under the dishwasher, and the drywall behind the cabinet. They had to drill 5 holes in the kick plate and 3 holes in the drywall to insert hoses from their drying machine. They also set up a fan to dry the floor under the dishwasher and a dehumidifier. They will leave their equipment running for at least 5 days then recheck moisture reading read more

Your company and your technician Jason had no idea on how to remodel a steam shower when he finally got done with the numbers trying to figure out what he was gonna do. He was going to charge me $40,000 to do a shower that is utterly ridiculous. And on top of that he was gonna charge me $9000 just to resurface a few cabinet doors. I cannot believe what he was telling me. We were very upset and I can't believe your company gets away with this and toward the end, he developed a bad attitude with my wife and myself explaining that he was just trying to help us, but he's not helping us by charging us $40,000 to do a little steam shower that was so simple to do. I will absolutely not recommend this company to anybody if you people cannot do a simple project of remodeling, a steam shower and resurfacing a few cabinet doors without charging a ridiculous amount of money read more
