We were scheduled for a Saturday, but had to call the Friday before to find out what time. We were informed that it would be around 1-3 PM because the crew wants to do another job before ours. We didn't like that, but there was nothing we could do. We were told the crew would call us an hour before they arrive. We eventually got a call and were told they can't come and want to reschedule for Monday. That's not an option because we do not currently live at the residence and we work during the week. This is why we scheduled a Saturday and we even left the entire day open for them because they didn't know when exactly they would be coming. Then some sketchy guy with an unlisted number called us and said he was referred to us by John (no idea who that is). He said to reschedule the job with Barrys and this guy named Kevin would come and do the job for much cheaper today. He said definitely don't cancel the appointment - just reschedule. It was super weird, but we were desperate. In the end, no one showed up. Still don't know who Kevin or John are, but considering we only contacted one company about the floors, we are guessing someone from Barrys contacted them. This is just a terrible way to run a business.

Lastly, the installers were very knowledgeable and respectful of our home. They wiped their shoes right away, they cleaned up all the mess and left our place looking nice and clean. (Well, I guess they could offer free back massages). This place epitomizes customer service. Overall, our experience with the Empress Carpet Sales was positive. We were in & out within 30 minutes. Empress has a great selection of remnant carpets which can be edged as rugs. We have no complaints about Empress, and will return for all of our carpet needs. They have chairlifts so we had the chairlift company come in the morning to remove the chairlift and then reinstall it at the end of the day.(which cost hundreds of dollars) The only way my mother can go up to the bedroom and bathroom! Taub showed and everything seemed fined and they proceeded to install the carpet- Well they were installing the wrong carpet and when we realized it - we had a choice either take a ridiculous refund of some monies off -or having the inconvenience of redoing everything and redoing the chairlifts - more of an expense - And by the way they insisted they had given us the right carpet - The difference was night and day - One was a lavish thick carpet the other a real basic carpet - The chairlift company was standing over my parents saying he had to put it back and they were basically under the gun - so they chose to take monies off - not what they wanted but felt they better take this awful carpet!! They are so unhappy with their choice - They ended up with sub superior carpet that they want to kick themselves - but felt they were taken advantage of ! THEY ARE TOTALLY UNHAPPY WITH THEIR DECISION SINCE THIS IS NOT THE CARPETING THEY HAD PICKED !! I beleve Taub knew this all along about their mistake although they denied it at first !! Glenn gave us 3-4 choices (he had 100s to chose from) so we weren't overwhelmed. Glenn stopped by our house to check our measurements (he wouldn't trust mine until he verified them himself). Installation was great. Three guys who knew what they were doing and who cut up the old carpeting (saving me a piece which I asked them to do). They came on time and worked continuously until finished. I am very happy with the result and would not hesitate to recommend them.
