I have to say that it's been awhile now, about 6months, since we had Pristine Plumbing and their…read moreteam out to our house to fix a rather unfortunate shower situation. It was this last June that the cartridge in the master shower died and we couldn't shut off the water at all. So Brian came out and began the process of sizing up the situation, and figuring out the appropriate plan of action with the necessary repairs. The master shower at our house is tiled in and there would be some necessary aggressive measures to access the cartridge for the shower. They ended up having to cut out one of the tiles in order to reach the cartridge and fortunately we had replacement tiles saved from when the shower had been remodeled. Brian, quickly assembled his team of tile, plumbing, and repair staff. They got to work extremely quickly and all in all were able to repair the tile, the cartridge, and the shower head in a couple of days. Their work was incredibly good, and the guys were meticulous with finishing up and restoring the tile that had to be removed for the repair. We also discovered that the reason for the shower cartridge failure, aside from age, the amount of minerality in our water here in Irvine is on the "hard" side and as such deposits and build up are common. We were using a filter system that Pristine had installed years ago and it had reached the end of its usefulness. So, they also replaced and helped to upgrade our system with a salt water filter as a way to cut down the deposits and mineral build up in our water system. I have to say that the difference in our water is INCREDIBLE!! Ok, so first thing is the taste, is soooo much better, cleaner and definitely noticable right from the start. Second, the water is SOFTER in the shower. It feels actually softer, and when you are done washing up you have a much, much, more clean feeling. Literally the water leaves you feeling totally clean. My skin actually feels softer, keep in mind I'm a retired old guy, so I was very impressed!! These last 6 months have been wonderful and our entire experience with Brian, and Pristine Plumbing was exceptional. I hope that the pictures speak for themselves.

They were able to help address the immediate plumbing issue, but overall I'm giving 3 stars mainly because of the pricing, results, and communication. In my experience, the cost added up very quickly. The initial recommendation included snaking and a camera inspection, and after that did not resolve the issue, hydro jetting was recommended to address roots in the sewer line. I ended up spending over $2,000 (at least one third could have been saved if they did root cause diagnosis before snaking), but after the service, roots were still visible in the sewer line, so I'm still unclear on how much the hydro jetting actually accomplished. Communication after the service could also have been much better. The company advertises 24-hour service, but when I called after hours, I was unable to reach anyone. I also didn't receive a very clear explanation afterward of what was accomplished, what remained unresolved, or what the next steps should be. Overall, the technicians were hard working, punctual and helpful, but considering the cost, I would strongly recommend getting quotes and second opinions from a few plumbing companies before committing to several thousand dollars of work. For a major sewer or root issue, I would also make sure the expected outcome and warranty are clearly explained in writing before proceeding, there is a lack of post service communication .
