I went there once before this instance. I had a check to get cashed for $1000.00. They told me to…read morego to the bank next door. This time, I called Western Union to verify that I would be served. At the window, I mentioned that I had been in a fire and that these folks raised this money for us. The customer service person gave me the cash. However, she would not let me deposit the money to my bank. I write here because Western Union tells me that was a lie. Apparently, skin color is part of their ID system. I don't have the right complexion. Call the company/person like Western Union. Give them a heads up. They have a robust complaint process. They have anti discrimination policies and they connect the complaints to each other. Tracking patterns. Add your experience to the pot. It matters.

There was a racist Hispanic lady at the teller. My mom is Chinese but she knows how to speak basic English. She asked the Hispanic lady at the teller how much it was for a check just to double check. Instead of answering her question, she asks her why can't she speak Chinese. My mom didn't know how else to respond to that but knew the lady was trying to discriminate her. However, my mom asks again and the lady continues to talk down on her and laugh at her, saying she is Chinese but don't know how to speak Chinese. My mom didnt know how to respond to her racist questions, but received and paid for her check. She then notices that the people behind her who weren't Chinese asked the same question-- how much is the check? And the Hispanic lady responds to them without pointing out any racist comments. Bill he brought it back to them with in 5 minutes and they took the counterfeit back and refused to give my son his $20. I went back to get his money and they refused to give me his money. I had to call the cops to the establishment and reported them.
