From start to finish, the entire team was reliable, on time, and within budget--something truly rare in construction. The management team, Jeff, Vitt and Justin, were fantastic partners throughout the process. Their architect, Valerie took all of our ideas and turned them into a design that exceeded our expectations, creating the dream home we hoped for. They guided us through key decisions, from fixtures to finishes, and connected us with excellent local suppliers like Mission Tiles in Soquel. They utilized Oxford Cabinets, who created an amazing custom kitchen and dry bar for us that perfectly complements our open-plan dining, kitchen, and living area. Their craftsmanship truly elevated the space. We couldn't be happier with the final result and highly recommend this team to anyone considering a custom home.

Their use of an online project management platform meant that we were never left wondering what was happening on any given day or what was next on the to-do list. Like most remodels, there were unexpected issues that needed to be addressed, but the CBB team was quick to offer solutions and keep the project on schedule. We were living onsite for the project and can attest that the CBB crew and all subs were punctual, efficient, polite, and kept the job site clean. They were so kind, put up with our constant questions, crazy kids, curious cats, and barking dogs! I can't say enough good things about CBB and recommend them to everyone embarking on a construction project.

Even though ours was a relatively small job, Spencer and his team fit us into their busy schedule and always made us feel like our project was important. We had carpenters, electricians, plumbers, and a tile setter (not to mention the excellent Quartz fabricator!) all working on our project at various times, and they finished on time and within our budget. Everyone on the team was professional and highly skilled, and they took great care to keep the worksite and surrounding areas clean -- they were also fun and a pleasure to work with. Our kitchen is now gorgeous, thanks to Santa Cruz Green Builders! We couldn't be happier with the quality, the price, and the integrity of the entire SCGB crew and look forward to working with them on our next renovation project.

From the walk through process, to the bidding process, to the signing...it was seamless. We have never worked with a builder like this. The entire process was super professional from beginning to end. The communication was top notch and every sub that came through was kind, polite, and did the job very well. It is rare to go through such a large remodel and to not have issues pop up....but we didn't have ONE. They showed up when they said they would, they got in touch with us immediately with any issues or questions, and things were resolved on the spot. Our designer, Cody, was fabulous. She "got" my vision from the very beginning. When she did her presentation to show us the colors and design she had come up with, it was as if she saw into my head....she's amazing. She nailed it. Our project manager, Brian, was fantastic...we don't have one complaint. And bonus...they told us approximately five months to do the remodel from beginning to end...and they finished two days before the five month mark. Unheard of in this industry. We will never use another builder, it will always be SCGB for us. We are absolutely thrilled with our remodel, and the quality of work....I cannot sing their praises highly enough. If you are looking for a builder...look no further. This is THE company you want.

Jared Lewis is the partner you want on your team…read more We were introduced to Jared when our Scotts Valley home was destroyed by a giant tree by a local real estate expert who is a staple in the community. From our first interaction - Jared was "people first". He cared about our family's needs, spent a great deal of time evaluating our complex options - and was the first to state when he felt something was beyond his scope, expertise, or bandwidth (spoiler alert: nothing is :) Though the entire process , Jared maintained his professional demeanor as our strategy shifted through various curveballs: changing market conditions, rebuilding vs selling, and working through various needs of our insurance provider. He also employs top-notch technology. As work commenced, I was able to stay on top of the day's activities through a digital log - complete with pictures, reports, and project details. The entire time I felt so "connected" to the build, and his team always delivered when they said they would. Finally, it always felt that Jared considers a long term view for his clients, I never felt pushed in any direction. He considers your success to be his success. Please consider Jared to your interview panel, he'll deservedly earn your business.

Their communication and management throughout the process were great, and we are very happy to have worked with them and with the final result of our project. As with any project of this size, challenges came up along the way. What stood out to us about Hugo and the GVR team was how they handled those situations. They never dropped the ball, worked to find good solutions, kept us informed, and communicated with us throughout the process to reach a result we were happy with. We would recommend Golden View Renovation for residential remodeling and construction projects.

We hired Golden View Renovation to design and build our new home from the ground up. We were…read morenervous hearing so many personal stories of architects, designers and builders not working well together or getting ghosted by them, so it was important for us to find an all-in-one shop for our build, which is why we picked GV. We knew this was going to be a monumental project, and it certainly was, as it took over 3+ years due to various city and HOA approval delays. Every construction project had its fair share of challenges, delays, and last-minute changes, but we are so pleased with the final outcome and thankful that GV was our partner through it. A few key highlights from our build: ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN: We unexpectedly ran into numerous challenges and roadblocks during our approval process, but it was the fantastic architectural design that saved us and managed to meet or exceed all of the city requirements. OPEN COMMUNICATION: GV set up a group WhatsApp chat for us that included the owners and every key staff member working on our project. We could utilize it 24/7 for questions, comments and decisions. COORDINATION & SOURCING: We wanted a builder that could handle primary management with all our vendors when it came to delivery timing and especially if there were product issues. GV took the lead in coordinating closely with external suppliers (whether they were recommended by GV or not) to receive, store and install all of the fixtures and finishes. GV never pressured us to use their recommended vendors, although in a few instance, their close relationships helped with not only pricing, but quick follow-ups with any product related issues or replacements. PRODUCTION MANAGEMENT & ONSITE MEETINGS: Huge shout-out to Barry Hahn (our production manager and lead) and the onsite crew (led by Freddie and Fernando) who MET WITH US WEEKLY onsite to provide updates. We always knew what they were working on and if they needed a decision from us, we could come see it for ourselves. We didn't always know the best decision immediately, but the team was patient, explaining and showing us all the options and the factors we should consider. WORKMANSHIP: GV takes pride in doing things right and to the highest quality. One example is when we were going through the home after it was painted and highlighting areas for touch up, our production manager came in over the weekend on his own and identifed even MORE areas than we did. In other words, GV doesn't try to take shortcuts or accept "good-enough" work. No construction project is ever perfect, but GV strives to ensure their workmanship is top-notch. -------------------------------------------------------- Building a brand-new home is always a long journey, but Golden View Renovation proved to be reliable, honest, and skilled professionals who genuinely care about the quality of their work. When we first met with the founder (Tal Shoshan) to discuss our project, he pledged to us that his goal was going to be making sure we were happy and he has LIVED UP TO THAT PROMISE. We highly recommend Tal and his team to anyone looking for a dependable contractor for a major build or renovation in the Bay Area.

It took 6+ weeks which was expected and why I choose to be out of town when most of the work was done. It was started right on time just as I requested several months earlier. I was able to keep an eye on the project with a drop cam. It was fun to see the progress every evening wherever I was. I was planning to use manufactured cabinets but when I saw the quality of Schmidt cabs and reasonable price I went for it. Im very happy I did. Since there was extra quartz material left over from counter he proposed adding it to the garden window and it really improved it.
