We chose her 2 week board and train - aggression rehabilitation service, after a week her and her staff noticed my dog still being very aggressive in protecting his food bowl and she extended his training another week (no extra charge!) so she could really focus on that aspect to make sure Dumpling's aggression was addressed. Wife and I also highly recommend her private sessions after the board and train. 2-3 weeks is definitely not enough time to make sure behavior issues are completely addressed, so her sessions helped make sure we properly did our daily trainings with Dumping. Her sessions also evolved the trainings we did at home as our dog's aggression level kept going down and focus on his high alert/anxiety responses to stimuli, and try to help him associate his dopamine response to being relaxed. She also helped identify a food allergy that made him itchy, which added to his higher anxiety level. All these things added up and now our dog is a lot happier and hasn't displayed a snarl or showed his teeth in anger to anyone or any dogs in months! My dog was horribly mouthy and unruly when we met Emily, and after a scarring experience with a different trainer in the area, my hope and faith were kinda down in the dumps. Emily, with her no-nonsense attitude and plethora of dog knowledge, left me with hope, homework and a multitude of things to ponder - Am I communicating clearly and fairly? Am I giving him everything he needs to be successful? A year and a half after our first session, Emily helped train the same (now less obnoxious) Golden Retriever on an e-collar so he could achieve full off-leash freedom. Emily has been, by far, one of the best investments I've made in my dog's life. I run a dog-walking company and refer my clients out to her and everyone is as amazed by her as I am. She answers all your questions about training for life, which is invaluable and puts on amazing events with other knowledgable trainers. Once we picked them up, my oldest dog Presley came back limping really badly. When I called to find out what happened and to express how upset I was, they immediately said nothing happened to her and that my other dog, youngest one's nail had been cut too short. Obviously something happened to her, if my dog comes back limping. What's sad is, she was the one walking me down the aisle. So not only did my dog limp down the aisle with me, her leg has never been the same. Now we just recently found out that her leg might actually be broken or have a fracture from this day. I'm hoping someone at PetSmart Corporate reads this review and looks into video footage of this day. If you claim to love animals so much, do better with your hiring and recruitment on groomers who are taking pets into their hands. This is not okay to hurt an animal, but also lie to your customers about what happened.
