Stay far away from this place. Melissa is absolutely awful and disgruntled. She began negative and stressed out because she was "behind in her schedule". I offered to bring my dog back later since she was only going to cage him for a couple hours before starting. She said no and claimed he would be fine as she put him in a cage Then, she refused to cut him how I said and told me he would be last priority regardless of his appointment because he had a few mats. She told me how wrong I was for bathing him myself and that I didn't do a good enough job prior to coming here. It was going to be our first time here, but she continued to berate me saying "people like you disgust me" and other awful things. I asked to leave and have my dog back, so she verbally attacked some more, threatened to call the police and called me names. I am shaking from how horrific that experience was and really feel afraid that if she treats humans (and clearly herself) as poorly as this, imagine how she treats an animal. You really need to do your research first and I failed to do so. I saw that the salon was well rated in Google and trusted that. Clearly I'm not the only one she has been awful to after reading these yelp reviews and I will be sure to spread the word to stay far away from this nightmare. I'm glad to see that they are no longer accepting medium to large sized dogs. Experienced the owner and her assistant as extremely rude and snarky, as two other customers have already mentioned. You can tell by the defensive comments/response to the other negative reviews that the owner is passive aggressive and unfortunately does not know how to work as well with humans as with (small) animals. Would recommend you look elsewhere unless you're looking for verbal abuse, owner shaming and dirty looks. read more

Took my dog here for first time this morning. He looks great, he did not bolt for the door when done and he is calm and appears to know he is well coiffed. The owner did a great job and the price was excellent for the area. This is my new groomer for sure. read more

We have taken our dog to multiple groomers and have had some really bad experiences. He is very squirmy and anxious and hard to groom as well. After a thorough initial conversation with Melissa we decided to bring him in. We got great vibes during drop off, received multiple text updates including photos throughout the day and picked up a very relaxed and happy dog. She and her staff have a way with animals and he was instantly comfortable in their shop. There were also no dogs barking, all were calm and relaxed. The woman was so rude. Not accomadating to my dog at all and rude from the moment I walked in the door. All I said was my dog was nervous and she was like well what does that mean? She was incredibly aggressive and I left immediately because I did not trust my dogs in the hands of her AT ALL. If you have an anxious dog do not bring them here. Rude staff. read more

I have been using Pawsitively Primped for the past three years for my little Yorkie. I had read the previous negative reviews and decided to give Melissa a try regardless. I no longer can consider this my dog groomer nor would I recommend anyone bring their animal there any longer. Melissa's groomer is a woman named Nicolle, who is rude, unprofessional, and bombastic. She clearly needs to find a job she loves because this is not it. If you want to use this business and support Melissa then by all means, make sure Melissa does the grooming and care of your loved one. For the record my appointment was with Melissa. Nicolle informed me that Melissa wasn't there and then if I wanted to wait for her, she couldn't tell me when I could pick up my dog. I expected some thing more professional like oh Melissa's running a little bit behind or she had an emergency or something else instead of her telling me that she doesn't know when I would get my dog back. But it's OK she does "all the grooming and has been for seven years!" Not only did she not know my dog she did not remember me or how she treated me the last time I was there. It's pretty sad when you claim you've been grooming for seven years and you don't know the animals coming in for grooming. The last grooming job that Nicolle did on my dog was atrocious and it was then that I told Melissa that I did not prefer her to work with my Yorkie. Customer service is everything today and post pandemic even more critical. When it comes to our fur family and our own hair, we should be allowed to pick and choose who we want to do the grooming or who is going to cut my hair! if anyone is treated like I was this morning I would run from that business. read more

If you value your dogs ability to walk and live a long and healthy life do not bring your dog here. We had a 9 year old shitzu that well extremely well behaved. After her last groom at this facility she was partially paralyzed. During her appointment the groomer called us and asked if there was something wrong with our dog because she was unable to stand. Unfortunately, at this point it was too late. I explained that she was fine when we dropped her off about 2 hours ago and had no previous issues with her health or ability to stand. After we brought her home she was unable to walk and was put on steroids to try and bring back function of her hind legs. She did develop some mobility, but the vet explained she had 2 compressed vertebrae impinging her nerves causing the partial paralyzation. Unfortunately, our dog passed less than a year after this experience. She had no previous health issues and should have been with us for many more years. We lost a part of our family due to the incident at this grooming facility. Be careful who you trust your dogs life with. read more

Excellent service, I called and got a lot of great information before I even made my appointment. I got in very quickly, Melissa did and amazing job on the haircut and he smelled great! My puppy Teddy had his first haircut with Melissa - they really took care of my 4 1/2 month old miniature poodle. Melissa and her assistant were careful around his face and paws- difficult areas for most poodles. I have been taking my Maltese there for 16 years - before when it was Debbie's and now that it is Pawsitively Primped. Debbie, Melissa, Nicholle have all always taken excellent care of my fur baby. After Debbie passed and before Melissa reopened the shop I took my dog to other local groomers where she was nicked, got an eye infection and we had very bad experiences at two other groomers, where we were not treated well. I was thrilled when Melissa reopened the shop. I don't know what the one star people are saying. I have found this shop to be extremely professional, timely and they always communicate well with me about scheduling and pick ups. My dog comes out looking great and has never been hurt here (as she was at other shops). My very senior/elderly dog is in excellent hands and I don't trust anyone else with her except Pawsitively Primped. read more

We love Melissa and her staff! My dog has had a bad history with groomers and We couldn't have been happier to find Pawsitively Primped. The place it's self is so inviting and all the dogs were happy and none of them were barking. It made me so relaxed and comfortable to leave my best pal in their care. And the haircut was just fabulous! We left with a happy dog and helpful tips on how to care for his coat between grooming sessions. My rescue mutt is a big guy who hates to be bathed and dried. Well, at Pawsitively Primped he gets a great spa day. They even took a video of him being blow dried and he just sat there like a little diva. They always address anything I need to know and really do care about him. Bad experience and poor service today. Took over 6 hours to groom my dog. Dog was in cage on a very hot day for many hours. No communication during day. Owner and worker were defensive and yes snarky to my spouse. They fell behind schedule to detriment of my pooch. Dogs grooming was mediocre. Not happy. Will likely not go back. Rusty and Rosie love going to see Nicole and Melissa, they do not allow me to brush them without drama but they appear to be super well behaved at Pawsitively Primped. They come out looking fabulous with all the boxes checked, toenails, ears, etc. We love the ease of making appointments and being able to rely on the ladies and the timing. read more
