The staff is wonderful! They're a hole-in-the-wall place on 20th and Youngfield in Applewood area. Took a bit to find since signs weren't in clear view. But I'm very pleased with them. 5 stars for sure. Did so much better than petsmart where they aren't doing mail trims due to short staff so I'm glad I found Pawsitively clean. Great prices too. We have a long haired Chihuahua and a long haired husky malamute. We are always out and about hiking, etc., with the dogs, and they get extremely gross. Every time we take them here, they come back smelling and looking GREAT! The service is quick, great, friendly, and it's run by a family. The owner is the kind of person to offer to walk you out with an umbrella if it's raining (that happened. Very nice person!). They also have self serve dog washes that are easy to use. I would highly recommend this business to anyone in the market for dog grooming or self serve dog wash. read more

Nat has been grooming my dogs for several years now. Three of those dogs have been Kerry Blue Terriers. It is rare to find a groomer competent with Kerrys, and she had done a great job, including helping me to set the ears on a puppy. This review is a long time coming. Our tiny cockapoo and our giant Airedale have been getting groomed here for a few years now. Rhonda generally grooms them and does a great job. I have been wowed by the kindness and attentiveness of these folks. My pups have left happy and lovely- and they aren't always an easy groom coat-wise. The groomer is happy to share what works and what doesn't for maintenance, and lets you know when your pup is ready fifteen minutes early so you can scoop them up and not leave them all day. I took my dog to this place for a dental cleaning and when I walked towards the door it looked closed. The windows were so dirty it was hard to see inside but I knew I had this appointment so I tried opening the door. There were people inside and open for the dental cleaning. The place was not clean and the dental people were on the floor doing their job with the shop owners dog just loose all over the store. My dog was small and intimidated by this large dog. I picked her up and held her until the technician took her. With just 2 weeks until Christmas I didnt have other options to take her to another place, but was very reluctant to leave her at this place. I also observed the owner talking to a person wanting to schedule a grooming appointment, and he was rolling his eyes during the conversation. "Pawsitively Clean" was anything BUT! Took my furbabies here today and I am so very happy with Pawsitively Clean's service. I don't have much money to spend on grooming so my boyfriend and I were shopping around for prices and happened upon this gem. We have 3 out of the 4 hardest and most expensive breeds to groom. A Golden Chow and a German Shepherd. We were looking upwards of $150 with chain stores (especially since our Chow is super grumpy and doesn't like to be touched, hence her needing to be groomed professionally). We asked for pricing and were quoted no more than $120 which was great and they also have an option to bathe them yourself using their facilities for very low prices. It seemed like it was a father/daughter place and had a great loving energy to it. They take one dog at a time so they aren't overwhelmed by other dogs barking but since ours were sisters, they took them together. 2 and a half hours later and our girls were gorgeous! They have never looked better!!! They were happy and smiling on the way home and I just can't get over how great my Chow looks. They did an amazing job taking great care to trim her excess fur making her look like my little bear again! I am so pleased they even shaved their armpits to help keep them cool while it's still warm outside. I would recommend them to anyone who really loves a great deal and their furbabies like I do. We ended up paying $100 at the end. Awesome service!! Will be back! Oh! And 2 weeks from now they go back for a free brushing to get the remaining excess fur. read more

Been coming here for years because of the service. The owners/staff genuinely care about the dogs and keeping them unstressed and getting them back to us as soon as possible unlike other groomers in the area. Other groomers were taking ALL day to get our 3 maltipoo's done, because they seem to be working on multiple dogs at a time versus focusing on one dog at a time until done. We get our babies back in about 3 1/2 to 4 hours and they are happy and consistently look fantastic and smell so clean and soft! Always accommodating with scheduling & cost includes bath, special facial shampoo, blowout, ears, nails, and haircuts all included..other groomers seem to nickel and dime you. read more

We have had nothing but wonderful experiences at Pawsitively Clean! The owners are very helpful and professional, and we always leave feeling like we had exactly what we needed from both the self-wash and the full grooming/de-shedding by the groomers. They have elevated self-washing stations, and all of the tools we need to help de-shed our White Shepherd. They are very reasonably priced, and are always checking in to make sure you have everything you need. I would highly recommend using this establishment for all of your grooming needs! read more

Terrible experience. When my boyfriend called to schedule appointment for grooming, deshedding, and nail trimming, they told him they would express the anal glands as well; he informed them our dog is very timid, especially towards baths and strangers and asked if they could handle it, they said yes. So we scheduled. Day off my bf drops him off with them, we come to pick him up and my bf goes in, upon approaching their front door, he notices it is locked, they tell him it was because of our dog, interesting... He said Nanook was crying and whining which was not surprising to me, he is always excited to see him and was probably ready to go, he doesn't enjoy getting groomed, so we didn't think too much of that. He seemed OK,he hopped on in the car and we drove home. When we get there Nanook is giving out small yelps of pain every so often when he moves around, we feel all over his body and find out his tail (mainly the joint where it bends) is very sore to the touch and he will not allow us to even lift it up. He won't sit and its obvious it is causing him pain, we call and ask if they noticed this, they said no very quickly (and didn't even ask if he was OK which ANY dog lover would have done) we point out that he would have had to get around Nanook's tail to express anal glands, be quickly says they didn't, we point out he would have needed to touch tail to trim it, he again quickly says they didn't. (Hmm even though we paid for a full grooming treatment??) He says they only brushed the tail, I said that still would have caused Nanook pain, why did you hide this from us and not tell us? He says they noticed No pain and maybe I shut my dogs tail in my car door! After multiple calls back after getting hung up on he aptly expresses he does not believe us nor care and he only will when a vet calls. (At this point we are on our way to vca er) the vet diagnosed Nanook with lumbosacral pain and gave him antiinflammatories and pain pills. This is at the joint, where the tail bends and lifts. I know my dog is difficult to wash, I believe they grabbed his tail and pulled him out of frustration and attempt to keep him close, when he isn't sleeping I'm going to upload a good picture of the crimp left in it that very well looks like where someone may have grabbed him. Whether or not they believe they are responsible, I know he was not in pain before, and nothing happened to induce pain in between the groomers and home, why would they not bring this to my attention? Why are they hiding it, denying it, and then refusing to admit any pain was present at all? They are disrespectful, unprofessional, impatient, and rude. I paid overall $210+ (including vet fees) for a grooming that hurt my dog, and very well could have traumatized him for life! I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy! No innocent creature deserves what happened to my Nanook, no matter how difficult they may be to bathe! On top the of lumbosacral pain, they clipped his nails far too short, the vet even commented on it! So disappointed with this place! They even commented on Nanook being so difficult and said he contorted into shapes they thought not possible, I think with that being said and how difficult he is, the only thing the daughter knew to grab was poor Nanook's tail! I will get justice for my dog! Shame on these people! I would much rather have had them call me and cancel the whole fiasco than hurt my baby out of frustration!! read more
