Owner is very negative and personally insulting. Not good vibe at all. No wonder only one other review.

There's baby bunnies, tortoises, reptiles, little critters, and even birds. Don't forget about a wide assortment of pet toys, treats, food and supplies for every pet need as well. My dogs LOVE that they carry Tall Tail dog toys. Everything is priced just right too! What makes Lou's unique is they offer a lot of fun education and learning opportunities for anyone in the community. Children can volunteer at Lou's to instill a great work ethic at a young age. This also allows your kids to learn about nature and what it takes to own a pet. Stop in today and spend a few hours exploring every inch of Lou's. You won't regret it.

Just visiting is like going to a small zoo. Over the years they've had giant fish, snapping turtles, tortoises, pythons, giant rabbits, lizards, chameleons, and even a ring tailed Lemur. The less ornery ones even wander the shop. I enjoy asking the tortoise questions about aquarium equipment like hes a helpful employee. Just watch out buying aquarium plants, theyre healthy, but you might have some snail stragglers. (Two years later I still find them in my tank and thats on me for not quarantining properly)

The 2nd time they missed large areas. They were just...clumps (?) that weren't cut the same length. The overall cut I would give a 6/10. Well, I found a new in home groomer. She is great! Then she moved 30 minutes away . Back to Petco. I didn't think it could get any worse. But, they really outdid themselves. Same thing with an uneven cut. I don't think they cut her legs at all. It was left so long. Her body is quite short. I pointed out a few of the issues and her response was, "well sometimes we have to go o er their fur 2-3 times." I would think if you have to do it 7 times, do what needs to be done to get the cut right. I have a picture I show each groomer. Petco just is not a grooming salon I would ever recommend. There will be no 4th visit by us. I cannot verify those but I question the training these groomers have. Sadly. My pics show the lack of consistency throughout. They did not cut/groom her face, ears or tail. I had completely brushed her out before I am/was extremely disappointed. I thoroughly brushed her before so there were no mats/knots. I thought it would help the process for them. Still took 3 1/2 hours. I think she was bathed. When we bathe her at home in between groomings she is so soft and smells so pretty. Did not get that from Petco either. And her face, all over, just feels dirty. Not happy with Petco

The gal that worked there saw me looking at the clearance table and made sure to let me know a different location cat food clearance also was in the store - which was MUCH appreciated! Upon checkout the guy worker was also pleasant and as he scanned made sure all the clearance prices were ringing up correctly which was amazing. As a customer, I definitely felt like my time being there was valued by employees and they both made sure to go above and beyond to cater what I needed. Will definitely be back to this location and I highly recommend it!

As a lifelong pet owner, I love coming to these type stores to see more speciality items and food…read morethat's available for my pets. Petco has done well with me over the past few years since my cat's on a special kidney diet, and as anyone who's had cats knows, their fussy eaters. After working with my vet about 2 years ago, we got puddy settled into her new diet and she's finally acclimated with her routine. When I was growing up we had a dog and we had that dog on Science Diet dog food. I also had a Beagle who ate science diet since he was over weight and getting these bags of food is somewhat expensive and this was before the day and age of the internet. So, coming to stores like this was imperative. But here's where I love Petco. In my area, there's only two stores that carry Puddy's Royal Canin wet food for her kidneys in the loaf style can, and that's Petco! (the other one's pet supplies plus.) I buy the cans about 5 or 6 at a time since a case (24 cans) is $70 on Chewy. The reason I get 5-6 can's at a time is because my cat's primarily on a dry food grazing diet. Wet foods only on request. Sometimes puddy will pass on the wet food for a few days and since I don't want it spoiling, I don't buy in large quantities. So, off to Petco we go. During the pandemic, there was a huge pet food shortage, and Petco saved me a few times by having it available and in stock when other places didn't. The food shortage went on for a good long while and it was rough there for a hot minute. But, they did me right and always came through when I placed an order and had it, compared to Petsmart who doesn't carry half of what I need anymore. The joy of shopping here is not only do they have my specialty food, but I can order in advance on their website and it'll be ready for pickup when I'm there. Sometimes they'll have it on sale and I do save a few bucks but I also like seeing what else they have here. I've picked up a few other things while here in the past which helps. The staff here's good, but for a while there, it was slacking. I appreciate them, especially post pandemic. They also do pet adoptions which is great. They have a grooming center for dogs, but puddy doesn't need grooming, so we don't go. I think they might have a vet area, but we have a specialty cat vet so I don't utilize that either. Overall, fabulous!

So loving, but when we asked if the dogs get walked...nope. Dogs are not let out of their cages unless someone requests to see them or their cage is getting cleaned. The employee seemed very knowledgeable and friendly, but then referred to the dogs as "product" when we asked about how long the dogs stay. She told us that they "get new product once a week, depending on if they are from Indiana or Michigan." I just don't know what to think. Many people walked out buying dogs in the hour we were there, which is awesome! But...not sure. When we were done visiting with one puppy, no employees were out to attend to us. We could have easily walked out with the dog. Puppy mill? I don't know. One dog didn't even want us touching her, she hid in the corner of the stall and growled when we tried to play with her. So sad :/

I visited The Family Puppy today while in town for work…read more I was excited to see this place after entering the mall as i LOVE dogs. When i walked in I noticed there were designated places to interact with the dogs and puppies and there were a significant number of dogs in cages. There were at least 4 employees working, answering questions and taking out and returning puppies to their cages. There were maybe 5 families and or groups of people inside the store. I connected with a specific dog and wanted to ask questions about it. I waited at his cage for about 5 or six minutes. During the time I was standing directly in front of the cage, I made eye contact with 2 employees, and waited for someone to acknowledge me. Not once was I greeted or asked if I needed help. Meanwhile, I watched as every other family and individual who walked through the door was greeted IMMEDIATELY and offered assistance. I am a self-assured woman and I know my value, so their lack of greeting doesn't change how I feel about myself. However, I am sharing this so others are aware of the environment here. It is a shame that in a store full of families and pets, the "warm welcome" seems to be reserved for a specific demographic. The reality of my experience: Every single person was seen, except for me.
