Paws in the Bath - Extremely Disappointed and Will Never Return I took my two dogs to Paws in the Bath and had one of the worst grooming experiences I've ever encountered. A week prior to their appointment, I personally dropped off their medical certifications and provided printed photos of exactly how I wanted each dog groomed. The staff member behind the counter with tattoos accepted everything. Because the groomer wasn't there that day, I made arrangements to take the afternoon off work on the day of the appointment just so I could meet with her directly. Shockingly, the groomer (Mina?) had no record of the paperwork or the photos I submitted. I had to go back to my car, get my phone, and show her the grooming style again. Despite this, she completely disregarded every instruction I gave. For my terrier, I specifically asked for a "tipped" look and made it clear that he should not be shaved. He was shaved down with uneven, poor scissor work that looked nothing like what I asked for. As for my second dog, I asked that her eyebrows, mane, and ears be left long -- she came back with her eyebrows gone and the hair around her mouth and ears hacked short. Both of my dogs looked awful and have not been themselves since. I still paid the full bill and even left a tip -- at the time, I hadn't realized just how bad the grooming was. After receiving a text message from the company, I replied and expressed my disappointment. I've received no follow-up or apology. I will never return to Paws in the Bath, and I strongly urge others not to take their pets here. The lack of care, communication, and accountability is unacceptable. DO NOT take your loved pets here. My dog received a scalding burn on his pink belly due to the overheated shavers. The owner was indignant and unapologetic. The groomers are worked to death and cannot allow time for equipment to cool down before grooming another dog. read more

(I've had this review saved for months hoping my dogs hair would grow back and i could give them the benefit of the doubt that they knew what they were talking about) I used to come here all the time with my 4 dogs. They would occasionally forget to clean the ears or trim the nails. I called in a couple times and they said i could bring my dogs in again if i wanted it fixed or deny my claims. Another time they scheduled me incorrectly so they separated the groom into two days. The only reason i put up with errors were because of Christine, who was the best but she left over a year ago. My dog was super afraid of people to begin with and she worked with him to a point where he loved to be groomed and touched by people. However, she moved and stopped working there. So why i am giving a one star review? The last time i was there was back in May. I've followed the schedule they told me to come in. They usually would give me tips on where to brush more like his armpits. I even took off his collar for the past months to make their job easier and prevent knots. I remember that they asked me who i wanted to groom my dog and i said it doesn't matter because he was so happy about coming there. Little did i know that Skye, who was assigned to my dog never got her grooming license. (i know this from going to other groomers who worked with her and trained with her, they all went to finish their training and she went straight into work). After dropping him off, they called me saying "we're going to shave some hair around his face". Coming here often, i knew that even doing the tiniest trim they would give us a warning. So i agreed not thinking much of it. When i came to pick him up i was so shocked, i just paid and left. I called back once i got home and could compose myself. After a day of talking to the owner who was incredibly rude, we tried telling her that we want some type of compensation because we have 0 idea if its ever going to grow back. During the call, she called us crazy for thinking that and flat out told me "if you cant afford the grooming for the dog i shouldn't have gotten him". She said she didn't want to give us a refund because we were told about the cut. After arguing with her we settled on checking his hair growth in 3 weeks and deciding then on wards. When we came back in they looked at him and tried to pass it off as it was growing back quickly. They took him in for a quick wash and blow dry. The owner continued to be nasty the entire time i was there and said that our dog was a nightmare and that they would rather groom other dogs. I was fed up with her because we were literally watching our dog a couple feet away sitting still just enjoying the hair drying. She continued to be terrible to us the entire time and say condescending things. Okay if you've made it this far in my review. I would like to say that Natalie (who i believe is the manager) was nice and more understanding during this entire time. Very sorry to move from the area. Have taken Heather (Golden) for 3 years...but winter has arrived...and we're in snow country now!! Our vet (THE BEST...Aurora Animal Clinic) recommended "Paws in the Bath" for our first kid in fur in 2012. Duffer (an Irish wolfhound/shepherd mix) was 14 + years, 70 lbs,arthritic and nearing the end of his life (2013). My husband and I took Duffer thinking we would bath him ourselves because of the need to be so gentle. The staff quickly came to Duffer's aid. They did EVERYTHING possible to make bath and grooming quick, gentle and thorough. Heather loves going here. She gets to play indoors and out with all the friendly dogs and staff. She comes home clean, deshedded and because of the staffs' recommendations, without dry skin. They groom her as directed. HEATHER & I highly recommend Paws in the Bath. I can't even give this place a 1 star. I am not a complainer. In fact I am known for Always being happy and loving anything and anyone no matter what, but I am so upset and my husband said that I should do this because we don't want this to happen to anyone else. I left there upset and angry.. and so did my dog. When I walked in The lady was there and she did not say hello to me or my dog she just immediate asked if I was there for nail trimming so I said yes. She proceeded to ask if he was ok with other dogs and I said yes. My dog was already scared as he'd never been there before and she grabbed my dogs leash and LITERALLY pulled him With his feet sliding on the ground to the table to get his nails trimmed. Not one did she pet him or say hi to him or try to calm him or make him feel calm and safe.. instead she just pulled him along like a rag doll. The look on my dogs eyes was hurtful. She was done in like 20 seconds and I asked her to go back to grind them down so that they were shorter and she didn't seem to thrilled about that. She came back and I tried to have a conversation with her which she didn't want to be part of based on her quick need for me to pay. She then immediate said to me "that's $16, do you want to leave me a tip!?" Im pretty sure my mouth dropped cause I was so shocked. Just Writing this makes me upset because I could never explain on here how horrible my FIRST and ONLY experience was with this place/person. I don't remember the girls name. She was and lighter coloured hair. I have had my dog for 9 years and I have NEVER seen anyone care so little and be so rude to my dog. Extremely disappointing and now I will probably have to fight to get my dogs nails trimmed anywhere I go now because of this experience he had. And my experience this is company has now been hurt. I debate trying the one in Newmarket but now I am unsure if I trust any of this company if they can hire someone who cares so little for their job and the animals that come through. I will never go back there nor will I ever recommend this place in fact I will tell people not to go there. I hope this girl can learn to be a better in all aspects of her job. This is my first review on Yelp, so I hope they don't deem it useless. I'm keen on starting to contribute to people being informed, so here goes. I took my dog to Paws in the Bath in Aurora a couple weeks ago for a bath. I was going to do self serve but thought I'd give their professional grooming a try. Here are the pros and cons. Pro: 1. The place seemed very clean and new. 2. Easy to book appointments. 3. Ample parking and good location. 4. Some cute accessories and products for sale 5. Offers pick-up and drop off (I didn't use this service) Cons: 1.They only groomed the dog's back. His chest, face and tail shedded profusely for a week afterwards, while his back was squeaky clean and shed-free (He's a rough-coated short haired shepherd). His nails were also not trimmed. 2. On the new client questionaire, they asked if the dog was vaccinated, but never asked for proof. This is the thing that keeps me from going back, even for self-service. I love my dog, so his safety and well-being comes first. 3. The dogs were all left together after grooming. No aggressive dogs that I saw, but I would at least appreciate being asked for consent. Going forward it's unlikely I'd go back. I will try out other groomers in the area (there seems to be quite a few) to see if they are more dilgent with their services. Thanks! read more

Very friendly place with professional staff. We took our mini poodle in for a Haircut, the price was actually a bit lower than some other places and we thought that they would do an OK job. It turns out the Haircut came out better then any place that we were able to find in the last 4 years. We are very happy with their service and are already scheduled for another one in June. read more

I've taken my pug Tyson to many groomers but since the first time we went to Paws we haven't been anywhere else. They are great with Tyson and are always accommodating since with our busy schedules I usually call last minute for an appointment. We usually get the full package with the special shedding shampoo and it is worth every penny. read more
