Destiny and the amazing staff really know each dog. We lost Roxie back in November she was a beagle mix rescue and somewhere between 14 and 18 years old. We went on a cruise to Alaska for our 30th anniversary in August and were so nervous to leave Roxie and Lexie to go that far from home. Roxie was very sick at the time (not contagious just very old and tired) It was the best decision we ever made. Destiny kept Roxie separate with a special bed and lots of love. Whatever they did for her she was so much better when we picked them up. Roxie gave us another 2 months and we are forever grateful to Paws and Play. read more

Very dependable and caring team. If I need a quick option for my pup while I'm away they're always helpful. Pups seemed happy, playing in playroom whenever I pick up. Last time I was there the lady at the counter talked to me about how my dog "jealous" and wanting to be petted while another dog was getting some love. You can tell they really like caring for the animals there. Only giving 4 stars because it's best for shorter away care. After long term stay my dog did come home with a cough one time. Still would come for quick 2-3 day trips though, since they are very reliable -- even on short notice! read more

For the past two years, I've dropped off my dog during the holidays. I've always been responsible making reservations in advance, paying requested services, etc. This year, for Christmas, I had made reservations (one month in advance as I picked up my dog after Thanksgiving) for two nights. However, my mom was visiting and offered to care for her instead. I proceeded to cancel the two nights with more than 7 days in advance. I decided to call to reconfirm the cancellation as well. I was penalized one night (Paws & Play's new policy). I explained why I was cancelling and that, in fact, if I had cancelled 24 to 72 hours prior, I'd accept the penalty... but it seems unfair to punish me for being responsible. I spoke with manager Destiny and all she said was "Sorry, it's our policy and we have people on a waiting list that changed their plans, etc. Really? Paws & Play has lost a loyal customer. Do not take your dogs to Paws & Play due to the mishandling of dogs and employees by manager Destiny. My niece interviewed with Paws & Play prior to the Thanksgiving holiday this year. She was subsequently offered a potion with the business after three employees quit and asked to come in the same day, Sunday November 21st, which was red flag number one. Destiny called her a 'savior' since they were shorthanded, and the owner of the business (Destiny's husband) thanked my niece profusely for coming in on short notice (same day) to help since they were short staffed. Upon showing up to work on November 21st, my 17-year-old niece was asked to sign a legal document stating she could not work within a 19-mile radius if she quit working for Paws & Play amongst other things. My niece is a minor and cannot sign a document legally. My niece also called me crying the same day she started at 1:09 PM (her shift started at noon) because she witnessed two dogs fighting and was upset they were not being supervised more closely. I let her know she needed to stay so she could be advocates for the dogs because no one else would. My niece was never late to work (we drove her every shift) and worked every shift she was scheduled. On one of these shifts, December 5th (my niece usually worked 12-6PM), a supervisor was not on duty (Destiny left to go home early) when two dogs got into a fight after Destiny failed to label the kennels appropriately. None of the employees on duty were supervisors, all under the age of 21, and one of the dogs had an ear gash that was bleeding profusely. Not knowing what to do, the girls called the dog's owner to let them know what happened. The owners called Destiny, who then called the girls and asked to speak to her normal supervisor. The girls informed Destiny she didn't schedule a supervisor that day and subsequently, no supervisor was present. If she cannot make a schedule and cannot remember who is working, she has no business managing a dog boarding facility. My niece worked on Thanksgiving Day this year and asked Destiny on December 9th if she could switch a shift with someone one Saturday (December 11) so she could spend time with her family. Destiny said no and my niece said OK, she would show up for her scheduled shift. The following day, December 10th, Destiny informed my niece she took her off the schedule for that Saturday the 11th. The next Monday (December 13th) my niece logged into to check for her shifts and saw she was not scheduled for two weeks. She logged in every day to make sure she wasn't scheduled. On Wednesday December 15th, my niece couldn't login. She sent a text message to Destiny at 10 AM asking if the site was down. My niece received no response, but the text showed delivered. My niece tried texting Destiny again at 4 PM, and it did not show delivered suggesting Destiny had blocked my niece's phone number. My niece called Paws & Play on Thursday December 16th around noon and said, "Hi this is *Niece's Name*, can I please speak to Destiny?' The person on the line said "Yes, hold on just a moment." My niece was placed on hold until someone came back and said, 'Destiny left for the day.' Destiny either left early again placing the dogs in the hands of inexperienced caretakers, or, she was ghosting my niece. Both are inexcusable business practices. When a teenager has more maturity than an adult, you know the business is being mishandled. My niece reached out again on Friday December 17th to Paws & Play and was informed by Destiny she would no longer be working for them. When my niece asked why, the same jargon was repeated as if Destiny was reading a script. My niece was never written up, was never late, and did everything she was told to do. We purchased scrubs for my niece (this was the required uncompensated for 'uniform') she was never reimbursed for. For an employer to treat an employee this way is inexcusable, never mind the fact dogs are constantly fighting and getting hurt due to lack of supervision. As I understand, this isn't the first time this business has treated employees unfairly and the bare bones business practices put the dogs in danger. DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOGS TO THIS BUSINESS AND DO NOT WORK HERE. This experience does not even begin to describe the unsanitary conditions of the dog care environment. The policy is that dogs in their care are expected to urinate and defecate in their rusty kennels for the employees to clean up with reused cleaning water. The dogs then are forced to lay in their own excrement. Not ideal circumstances for healthy animal care. If the owner were smart, he would fire his wife and hire a competent manager. read more

Would definitely recommend this boarding facility! My mother-in-law needed to board her dog over the Thanksgiving holiday on short notice. They were very accommodating and her dog loved the place. Came back happy and clean with tail wagging. And it's one of the cleanest facilities I've ever been in. Most boarding facilities have a smell, but not this one. It was very well kept. There was a slight issue with the billing but it was quickly and easily corrected and the staff was extremely apologetic for the mistake. Wouldn't hesitate to bring my pet here! read more

We have also had our pets bathed and groomed at the end of their stay, and they do a nice job. Lucy has gone to spend half a day, all day and overnight for over a year. Destiny and her staff are the best! They love dogs and give the dogs all the TLC they need while away from their best friend. The dogs are separated into play groups based on their individual personalities to ensure safe, fun, and care for everyone! Lucy is always excited to go in and comes home exhausted. We have a friendly and playful retriever lab mix who is very social. He loves going to play for half days and really has become attached to the staff, who have been great to him. I usually drop him off a couple days a week just to play. When we arrive, he jumps out of the car and runs in the front door. When it's time to go home he puts on the brakes and has to be dragged out of the place with his feet all firmly planted on the floor. He also turns around in the lobby and tries to go back in the doors to the play area. Paws and Play is his Happy Place! read more

It's clear that they don't really watch the dogs. My dog came back with several cuts covering his face, they told my sister who picked him up that they "think" he got food aggressive and that he only had one or two marks. Clearly that's not the case. They said they never saw the fight happen but it's obvious there was several due to some being scabbed over and some not. I have no idea what type of place not only feeds dogs together instead of separate but leaves dogs around each other without supervision. I did veterinary assisting for a good amount of time and that is the very first rule you are taught. You are NEVER supposed to leave dogs that don't live together around each other without supervision. read more

I boarded my dog here and when my wife picked him up his eye was bloody red and he was cowering away from her. When we alerted staff to it they feigned ignorance, and claimed not to notice. After taking him to the vet it was determined he had a deep ulcer on his eye. After a few days of treatment with no improvement in his condition it was determined he needed emergency surgery to have any chance at saving his eye. We tried to reach out to Paws & Play for assistance with the massive expense and they took a hard line stating there was no way to prove our dog incurred injury on their property. Well when we dropped our dog off he was fine and when we picked him up a week later he has a severe eye injury so I'm no detective but... On the bright side, after weeks of recovery and several ophthalmologist follow up visits later our dog won't lose his eye, but does have some scarring which does impair his vision. Needless, to say I would not recommend this company to anyone looking to board their family members (yes I consider my dog family). read more

My dog loves it here. My dog is usually skiddish whenever she goes to a daycare and doesn't want to stay, but she rips my arm out to get into Paws and Play. As soon as we get there she is going crazy in the car and runs in and is bye mom my friends are waiting. She loves just as much as the park. The staff is attentive and extremely friendly. And it is always clean. I've been to other doggie daycares that my dogs didn't like at all. This place is great. read more

Highly recommend! I had a ton of questions as a new puppy mama and they were super patient with me! Oscar has been going to daycare here a few days a week for a few months and we absolutely love it! When we get there, he is so excited he about runs me over to get to the door! When he goes inside, the staff knows him by name and are always excited to see him (and if they aren't...I would never know with their big ole smiles )!! He has a TON of energy (German Shorthair Pointer) so I know he plays a lot when he is there since he is much more calm on the way home and takes a nap when we get home!! I love that he gets to socialize and play and I love that the staff uploads pictures online for us to see! A small gesture that goes a long way!!! We booked for the first time for 2 nights Labor Day weekend... Saturday and Sunday. Today (Labor Day) we go to pick up our dog and they are closed. After leaving several voicemails and FB messages, someone called me (a manager I believe), to let me know they texted me to let me know they were closed today and their computer shouldn't have allowed me to book for pick up on a major holiday. I have never received that text. In the email confirmation after I paid it says we will see you on the 6th... when we dropped her off we said we will see you on Monday. No one said a word to us that they are closed Monday (the 6th is Tuesday) and we would have to pick her up on Tuesday. They did allow us to pick her up today but still charged us for tonight ($54). This was our first time using them and we won't be back. They didn't accept any responsibility for the miscommunication and I'm just not comfortable leaving my dog where they don't hold themselves accountable... especially with a new customer. If you do use them, double and triple check your pick up dates. We will be going to their competitors who actually have a lot more going on. Too bad, I really thought Paws and Play would be a good fit for us. read more

Never bring your pet to this place. They have yes knowledge on how to handle a dog. I dropped my dog off to be washed and they let him get into a fight with two other dogs and then claimed I needed to pay for the other dogs medical. They had yes care on how my dog was treated. I was yelled at over the phone to come get my dog. I got there ten minutes later and the owner was rude and blaming my dog. Btw they have had my dog several times but they acted as if it was all his fault. Come to find out this very situation had happened twice before to the other dog owner. The other dog owner also will not be bringing her dogs back. HORRIBLE Place! You are taking a big RISK bringing your pet here!!!!! read more

Worst place I could have brought my dogs to as my regular boarding place was full. Picked them up both dirty and smelly even though I paid for a bath. The thing that threw me was that they asked for a tip after already being over priced, for what? They did nothing to take care of my dogs. My 12 year old has been a complete mess since she was boarded there. We had to take her to the vet because her anxiety is so bad. We later found out that our neighbors daughter used to work there and she told us they treat the animals horribly. She only lasted working there for two weeks. They leave them in a crate for 12 hours and the the owner is horrible. I wish I would have never brought my dogs there to put them through that. Please bring your dogs anywhere else but here. read more

It's not a kennel it's a just a building full of rusty cages and no where outside for your dog to go to the bathroom, maybe that's why it's smells like urine, I prefer to have my dog somewhere safe , so he or she doesn't come home with an eye missing from the cages that look like they where built with outside fencing instead of concrete, take an unannounced tour , before you drop your furbaby at this undercover hellhole , ask to meet the owner , you most likely never will , even if he is there. If your dog could talk he/she will curse you out for taking them to Paws and Play. there are so many other better options for your furbaby and actually cheaper, and yes in the same area, places that actually spoil your pet!!! read more

Potentially disfiguring injury I would give 0 stars if I could. Please do not bring your dogs to Paws and Play. We boarded our pugs for the very first time there the week of Thanksgiving. I called almost every day and spoke with staff who confirmed they were doing well every time. As I picked them up, I immediately noticed my one pug's eye was injured- it was swollen, red, and had lots of discharge. I left and brought them to my vet. When I tried to get my pug out of his crate in the car, he was huddled in the corner whimpering, which he has NEVER done before and it broke my heart. The vet confirmed he had a bad ulcer. Unfortunately, despite weeks of treatment, it would not heal and he had to have eye surgery because the ulcer was so deep and he was at risk of the eye rupturing. I reached out to the owner of Paws and Play in order to work with them to obtain some financial compensation for the surgery. After a phone discussion, and several emails, he refused any help, still continuing to deny that their facility had any role in his injury, even though my dog's eye was intact upon drop off. I am informing others of this incident because I hope I can prevent even one animal from being hurt at the facility. The owner even admitted to me in a phone conversation that a dog (not mine) had been bitten by a rattlesnake there. I am sure there are good boarding facilities out there. This is not one of them. read more

This is the 2nd time we've used this facility to board our dogs. Destiny was amazing as was the entire staff. When we called, we were updated on our furbabies' day.....we could tell the staff love dogs! It's difficult to leave them but I feel comfortable leaving our babies with Paws and Play. They truly care about the well being of each pup! When we picked up our pups, they were happy! That says it all! I highly recommend Paws and Play! read more

We have been using Paws & Play for several years now for our 2 rescues - Aussie and a Border Collie mix. The facility is always very clean (does not smell). We especially appreciate the care and loving concern the staff shows towards our fur kids. I would highly recommend. The management is excellent. read more

WARNING!! If you have small, elderly dog, DO NOT USE THIS FACILITY! They do not know how to follow instructions. After visiting the facility twice, I thought my elderly Chihuahua would be in good hands. Not so. After asking that he not be put in with any other dogs, I find out he was 'temporarily' housed with another dog, one that he did not know. He became ill after 3 days and was rushed to the emergency vet, and was diagnosed with pancreatitis. Yes, I know that stress and going off their normal food, can cause this condition. Once he was dropped off, this is when the back peddling started with 'no, he was not kenneled with another dog'. $2300 later, my dog is doing better and is recovering. The only good thing that this place did correctly was to get my dog to the emergency vet. If they had not placed him with other dogs, I don't think he would have developed the pancreatitis. I have yet to hear back from this facility asking how my dog is doing. I will never know what exactly happened, but I don't recommend this place at all. read more

While being boarded at Paws & Play for the first time, my dog developed an injury that was neglected and resulted in over $250 in vet bills and required treatment for 2 weeks. The first time my husband and I were notified of this issue was at the time of picking him up. He limped out to us and displayed distressed behavior. We took him to the vet immediately and the vet specifically told us the injury had to have occurred well before we were notified due to the severity of his symptoms. We have successfully boarded our dog at several other boarding facilities over the years without any problems. Despite this, I understand that injuries can occur, however I believe it is unacceptable that it was not noticed earlier and we were not notified immediately. It took him limping out to greet us for the issue to be addressed. After the vet visit, I called Paws & Play to inform them of this information and I only received an apology and and verbal promise to do better. Unfortunately, they will no longer have the opportunity to do better as I plan on never bringing any of my pets to this facility ever again. read more

This is a beautiful facility and our dog is very happy after being there. However, they are definitely not attending to the dogs like other places we have boarded at before. We picked our dog up at 10:30am after a long weekend stay, about and hour and a half earlier than we had said we'd pick up. We are pretty sure she had not been let outside in the morning before we picked up. She dragged us outside and into the bushes upfront. Have no idea how long she had had to hold it but it was too long by our standards. They had fed her the food we provided but not a single one of the treats. She has been drinking all day, never seen her so thirsty. I think they have too many dogs and not enough staff. For the price you pay here, you'd expect more. read more

I do NOT recommend this place for boarding or anything. While I see people putting in reviews on how great they are we did not have the same experience. We were becoming new customers and provided all of the vet paper work, toured the facility and asked all kinds of questions. I even asked them if we were missing anything to let us know. Well...we just went to drop off our dogs and were told we couldn't leave them due to they didn't have a flu shot....what?!?! We were not told about making sure they had this shot, and being that this is not a requirement for other locations I would never have known to ask about it. So we had to cancel our weekend where we had made arrangements to see our son's university he is going to next year and meet his coaches and tour the facility....this was our only opportunity to do this. I also lost over $100 because we had to cancel our hotel and they wouldn't waive the cancellation fee! So if you ask me Paws and Play owes me this money! Destiny Hodges is the manager and who I spoke with and she just smirked at me and was very insensitive to our situation...which is crazy! Zero customer service! We like to travel and they could have had our business...but because the way I was treated I will NEVER leave my dogs with them. I did receive a follow email from the manager apologizing for the way she handled the situation but it is too late for that. As a manager she should have thought about that the minute she opened her mouth!!! read more

She is only a year old so daily exercise is so important to keep her happy, her kennel was right in front of there inside playroom, very clean and the nicest staff!!!! As a very over protective dog Mom, I'm so happy we have found this place. Normally I work from home so our dog is not used to being home alone very often, so we love taking her here on the days I have to travel for work. Not only do I feel much better than leaving her in a crate, she seems to have a blast and comes home tired (a very rare occurrence). We now have to board her for the first time and after weeks of researching many places in the area with fancy amenities like pools and webcams, we still came back to Paws and Play.
