    My pet Xena.
    Melissa L.

For the past two years, I've dropped off my dog during the holidays. I've always been responsible making reservations in advance, paying requested services, etc. This year, for Christmas, I had made reservations (one month in advance as I picked up my dog after Thanksgiving) for two nights. However, my mom was visiting and offered to care for her instead. I proceeded to cancel the two nights with more than 7 days in advance. I decided to call to reconfirm the cancellation as well. I was penalized one night (Paws & Play's new policy). I explained why I was cancelling and that, in fact, if I had cancelled 24 to 72 hours prior, I'd accept the penalty... but it seems unfair to punish me for being responsible. I spoke with manager Destiny and all she said was "Sorry, it's our policy and we have people on a waiting list that changed their plans, etc. Really? Paws & Play has lost a loyal customer. I'll find a better place for Xena.

    Deeper cuts more scabbed over

It's clear that they don't really watch the dogs. My dog came back with several cuts covering his face, they told my sister who picked him up that they "think" he got food aggressive and that he only had one or two marks. Clearly that's not the case. They said they never saw the fight happen but it's obvious there was several due to some being scabbed over and some not. I have no idea what type of place not only feeds dogs together instead of separate but leaves dogs around each other without supervision. I did veterinary assisting for a good amount of time and that is the very first rule you are taught. You are NEVER supposed to leave dogs that don't live together around each other without supervision.

Play area! These are pics they posted as a welcome on his first day! I loved that!!

Management is terrible and rude. They do not care about the animals. My dog went in healthy and came out with mange. 100% Do NOT recommend.

Not only do I feel much better than leaving her in a crate, she seems to have a blast and comes home tired (a very rare occurrence).

I talked to John on the phone about the type of training he thought she would need. Just through the phone conversation I learned a lot about what he was able to do for our family but also for my pup. He gave me some advice over the phone that I could start practicing with her. Even though my zip code was a few miles out of what their website says they cover, he still was willing to travel down to my house for training. He has a package of 3 initial trainings(which he says is usually all most people need) and then additional ones if needed. I was looking around at petco/petsmart trainings but they did not seem like they'd be helpful since theres only one person with up to like 5 dogs and the things they were teaching seemed like stuff I could just find online myself. After our first hour and a half of private session and consultation, my little Ellie has shown tremendous( if not the most I've seen in this short amount of time) improvement! I also actually have a structure of a training regimen I can practice with her now until the next two sessions which are flexible in timing. ALSO, he brought toys, treats, and chews for Ellie to use for her training and to keep afterwards! Great surprise! HIGHLY recommend their in home training with John. He has extensive knowledge on training and understands the way dog's minds work and how they communicate which is very important when bonding and training your dog. It is also private 1 on 1 training so the whole hour and a half is all focused on your dog and it's needs unlike the retail store training. It is all positive reinforcement training so nothing negative! I am already confident that this was worth the time and money only after our first session and about as much as I would've spent on the petco or petsmart training! Sure it is half the amount of classes I'd be getting but the quality covers down. Not trying to knock the big chains, but the training just isn't the best out there. TIP: the phone # on their website was out of service as of 5/18/18 so I'd use their contact section to leave a message and they will call or email you back within a few days

When we were referred to Ashley, I wasn't sure at first--at the meet and greet I thought, "Wait, Kobe is almost her size!" But wow--good things truly do come in small packages! Kobe absolutely adored her. Not only did she win him over instantly, but she even prayed with him before his dinners (a detail that melted our hearts!). Ashley sent us recorded updates so we never felt out of touch, and every night she made sure his space was washed, tidy, and cozy. The best part? Kobe got to stay in the comfort of his own home while Ashley came to walk him, play with him, and shower him with love. It gave us such peace of mind knowing he was safe, happy, and cared for. We are beyond grateful for Ashley's professionalism and warmth. Now that we've added our little miniature poodle-bichon mix, Coco Tinga, we can't wait for her to enjoy the Luxe Pet Oasis love too. Ashley is a true gem, and we'll be recommending her to every pet parent we know!
