They also have enough insight to recognize that students arrive with widely varying skill levels and prior exposure. Their blocks of instruction are thoughtfully sequenced and clearly articulated, allowing trainees to absorb complex material at a manageable pace while progressively building confidence. Although some of the curriculum set forth by PPSB is a bit cumbersome, they organized the content to fit within the three-day format. The standard is the standard and no shortcuts or "gimmies" are given, but even novice shooters can achieve it by paying attention and applying the principles. Of note, the discussion of physiological responses under acute stress definitely helped on practice day. Prior to firing live ammunition, the course incorporated dry fire training aids allowing learners to practice grip, aim, and trigger pull with a real firearm effectively eliminating the distraction and anticipation of noise and recoil. Getting the blood pumping. The rest is technique. You will learn a lot of great stuff to use should you have to.
