I have been coming here for a long time and all the staff is friendly and I have used them for gun transfers, pawns when I needed some cash and also have bought stuff from here as well. The prices are more then reasonable and they have sales on holidays and other times of the year. I have found a nice camera that came with 3 lenses and the original box and also they have a great prices on jewelry and a great selection of coins and and if you can't pay it all at once they offer layaway. Plus how can I forget the parrot who I recommend you don't touch but is nice to look at and coming here at least once a month. Still can't the bird to speak. But will randomly say stuff. If your pawning something you need to be reasonable and don't expect the price you paid for the item the price you will get if you pawn a item. Also don't expect to get 300 for a 5 year LCD T.V. and then abuse the stuff because they won't give you what you expect. This is just my recommendation from coming here a long time and seeing how some people are. They are more then fair in what they will give you and treat you with dignity and respect and please do the same to them. You won't be disappointed. They also have great prices on internet gun transfers and the cheapest price in Modesto for internet transfers. read more

Offer was less than half the value of what I was selling They expect to double their money in every transaction they make I found a fare buyer elsewhere Thanks for the insult today I always appreciate a insult from a pawn shop but this one takes the cake read more

So this review is basically the difference between amazing customer service and someone who just doesn't care. Earlier this week I went in and was greeted by a man with dark hair, and got help from an employee named Josh. Josh went above and beyond to explain the process and listened to my story with compassion: my grandmother just passed away and left me more items than I expected. I went in knowing they only took silver and gold at the moment, but again, the process was so smooth and Josh was very friendly and professional. Fast forward to today. I went in and saw Josh, who was with another customer, so I decided to go to the blonde woman seated at the counter. No smile, no welcoming energy, and she barely even blinked when I explained my story and commended Josh for doing an excellent job. Not only did she toss my items around as if they were trash, she had the audacity to grab the items I WAS CURRENTLY SORTING THROUGH to check them. I said, in a polite tone, "I would rather hand the pieces to you myself, not to be rude." No one else was in the store and I wasn't taking my time, she was just rushing me. When she finally took the items worth anything, I already knew in my mind I didn't want to do business with her. And when I said I'd rather take it to someone else she gave a snotty "Okay" and didn't even tell me to have a good day. Basic Customer Service. Pawn Shop, McDonald's, JCPenney, wherever you work with people you have to be SOMEWHAT personable. The only reason I would go back is to have Josh assess my items. But the blonde employee put a super bad taste in my mouth. This is the kind of thing that makes or breaks repeat business for me. So if you DO go in, see Josh, amazing customer service and truly seemed to care! read more

I wanted to check out this pawn shop. It was the real deal. I needed a little collateral loan. A nice guy named Josh helped me. He knew his stuff. He had a machine to check my stuff. Gave me a great fair collateral pawn loan deal. Great guy. Great spot. read more

Solid customer service. Their gun salesperson knew what he was doing and a lot about the gun I was purchasing.

They're very nice. Give you top dollar on loans when you give them gold to pay your bill's. When in a bind. Don't charge very much to allow you to pawn. Also have really nice second hand fine jewelry to purchase. I go there with my same gold ring for a quick 300.00 loan. Then pay off. Pick up. Repeat! Recommended 100%. Pleasant and good service always! read more

Only pawns silver and gold. Wish they would've announced it via website or whatnot; would've saved me the long drive to get there.

The female employee is rude on the phone and in person. They lowballed me 320$ for my chain that mid valley pawn gave me 500$ for. And mid valley gave me a quote over the phone. The female employee actually was rushing me to make a decision on if I wanted to pawn it when I was doing the math numbers in my head because 24k gold is 89$+ right now and 320$ for 9.8g necklace didn't seem right. A very honest operation. I've dealt with them for a number of years and have been impressed with their integrity. read more

The place was nice walking in, but I wasn't well greeted as a middle age woman kept on talking to another employee about her life while he was trying to attend to me. That was really rude to be honest and awkward. Anyways, I brought in a brand new guitar with case valued at 2,000 after taxes and I was offered a little less than $300 with no wiggle room for negotiation. A total rip off. I payed attention to their used guitar selection and is overpriced. I sold my guitar for the triple amount they gave me at another place. Never coming back to that place again. They are low ballers. read more

Yep, I am a pawn shop guy. I have been all over this great state of California as well as the great state of Texas and have been to many many pawn shops. I can say this... Every time I have been to this pawn shop and purchased something these guys have been fair and were willing to work with me as a customer. They provide a level of respect and keep things very simple. Simple is always a beautiful thing when going to a pawn shop. Granted there are just not many pawn shops in California but let me just say if you see something you like at this place, and you ask about it, they treat you as you would want to be treated. Out of maybe 200+ pawn shops that I have been to this one I rate in the top 1% for experience. Yes, they don't always have something I want to buy there, but that's ok too. Even when they were at their old location off of Oakdale Rd. in Modesto, CA they were excellent service and I just want to thank them for providing fair pawning service in Modesto as they are a great representation of the pawn business. Granted the stuffed animals are a little creepy haha yet it does give the place ambiance. I hope they stick around for a long time as pawn shops provide a great service to those that need it and a great place to pickup things that others might no longer need at a more then fair price for the most part. Thanks guys for the great experiences. I have a lot of respect for your business. read more

Don't buy a gun online and have it shipped to this store!! If your background check is delayed or undetermined they will not release it to you even though the department of justice says they can if they want to it's up to the dealer. Just wanted you all to know that before getting a firearm here. Also I tried to speak with the owner myself and they wouldn't let me talk to him on the phone!!!!! read more

Pawn Shop - Pawn Shops Near Me - Modesto, California

After reviewing this issue with Sam the employee that was behind the desk, we not only settled the issue but we walked away feeling much better about our situation than we did going in originally. Thank you Sam for all of your help, I have been shopping here for a long time and will even be back soon than expected. Merry Christmas to you and you team and thanks again for all of your help. Not like it used to be very friendly I went in to their new location on Yosemite and was treated horribly by a young lady with glasses She was so rude I turned down her offer and ended up walking out of there and I went to Brooks instead where you are treated with respect I Hope Maria is reading this because she needs to put her employees in check read more

This place has great customer service. They have a very impressive selection of items.

Very knowledgeable staff. They are fair with their prices and they have a huge selection of items (nice items) From guns to jewelry to video games and everything in between glad they moved locations so they can hold a lot more items. The thing I look for at any business I go into is friendly service and the Pawn shop didn't disappoint. read more

I do not recommend this place one bit. I can only recommend it if you have a high priced, desirable item you are willing to pawn for a short time and are in desperate need for cash to pay a bill or something. The worst part is that you have to deal with their apathetic, lazy and rude staff. I always walk out of there in a bad mood, and not because I'm broke, but because of the attitude of the employees there. There are a select 1 or 2 female employees I've spoken with who are actually nice and friendly. Otherwise, the rest are arrogant and jerks to their customers. read more

One of the employees looked at my camera Canon EOS 450D that I purchased for around $1000 while I was in the navy. He looked like he was interested in it, and took out to the back, and said be wasn't interested in it. I can only assume that it's because he wanted me to sell it to him dirt cheap or because the last time I paid off the money they loaned me here before they could make any money off the interest. It's alright I'll take it somewhere else, I'm sure there's someone out there that will buy it. read more

I usually pop in here to check out their $3 DVDs - they get some decent titles from time to time. I can't speak on guns and jewelry - but as far as electronics and music equipment goes, they pretty much price by the book. The store attendant is super chill and personable - she makes it much more bearable to come here! She's willing to cut good deals if you want to haggle a bit. I've never pawned anything (nor do I aspire to), so I can't really speak on that part of the business. read more

This is my first time in this business. I was actually impressed with the way the person behind the counter, whose name was Israel, handled my transaction. He was helpful and showed great care. He gave me suggestion on the best way to group my items to get the maximum benefit. When the transaction was completed, he even offered if I needed an escort to my vehicle as there were a few guys outside standing and talking. It made me feel safe and I won't mind doing business with them again. read more

Awesome friendly staff, good firearm selection and decent prices. They have quite a selection of rifles and pistols here, be wary of the ARs sold just because they are well used and the ejection ports on everyone was damaged, I believe due to a combination of steel ammo and bad mags. They have 22 ammo in stock it's expensive but they actually have it. I will most definitely be coming back to this shop when I want another firearm read more

Great customer service they are quick and very friendly. I was only in the shop maybe 15 minutes than spent the rest of my time shopping around the memorabilia they have on hand. read more

Idk where to start. I've come here about 3 times and every time is just simply awful. The girls are so rude and have really bad attitudes. The heavy blonde Hispanic girl is beyond rude and it's disgusting. Same as the skinny with glasses . It's terrible. If you can't be friendly or welcoming, why work in customer service !? Every time I come in, I just wanna give them another shot at being Nice and they just remind me why I don't go there anymore. I went in about 20 min before closing and the heavy Hispanic girl was hugging and puffin as it got closer to 6. It was just the most awful experience ever. If something isn't real, they say with the most ugliest tone and kinda throw the jewelry back to you.... I just can't believe they hire these kinds of people. If you don't like being friendly or nice. Get out of customer service! read more

Single mom and self employed. The girls have helped me on many occasions and all very helpful!

This place sucks.they offerd me $15 dollars for what i had with 35 dollars storage fee.i went to j&m and got $50 with no storage fee.

I recently had an engagement ring and other items stolen from my home. The pawn shop bought these from the burglar. After a month and half of waiting I finally got my letter of release from the MPD. When I went to pick up my items I was charged to take back MY stolen property. So not only did I have to postpone my engagement and suffer through a burglary, but I had to pay to get my belongings back. I asked if I could meet them in the middle but they refused. I ended up just purchasing back what I could afford. I think this speaks volumes of there customer service and there general attitude towards customers. read more

i used to come here all the time and the staff was awsome and every one was friendly and down to earth i moved out of state for a few years and had to come back and recently needed to pawn some of my items to help get back on my feet. the staff is almost completely changed. they mustve changed ownership because the new staff is completely rude and disrespectful. If you ever have to do business here, i reccomend waiting for the guy with dark brown eyes and is usually wears a hat i think hes the manager kyle or cody i think but i always wait to work with him or the bigger girl with purple hair and glasses. she was very friendly and helpful the few times ive had to work with her. i walked in the other day to be the only person in line and a heavier set girl wit blonde hair an a lot of makup looked at me and said someone will be right with you and maybe it was because of the item i had that she didnt want to deal with but she tried calling someone else up to help me and i guess no one was available so she had really sour attitude about having to work with me. and her other rude friend with the dark brown hair and glasses is talks way too loud about business that should be private. decent offers but awful customer service at least from those girls. read more

Do not go here! It's super ghetto...not that I thought that a pawn shop was going to be high class or anything, but there are just so many things going on at this place that will never bring me to come back. First, they tried to tell me that they would only give me less than a hundred dollars for my touchscreen laptop, all of the employees there except for one that I talked to seemed MISERABLE and rude. They might as well just walk around rolling their eyes. It's ridiculous. Was planning on coming back here to sell some jewelry if I sold my laptop and it went well, but there is no way I'm coming back here just so they can lowball me. I talked to a friend after I went about what happened and he said that he brought in his Grandmothers vintage 2 carat diamond ring a few years ago and they offered him TEN DOLLARS! Oh, and the icing on the cake....As soon as I pull up, mind you it was dark outside, I see a little boy not older than three years old standing outside in the front of the building all by himself. As I finished parking my car I was trying to keep an eye on him to see if maybe I just didn't see his parent out there somewhere with him, but no there was nobody....I then noticed that the little boy didn't have his pants on and his little butt was showing and he was PEEING RIGHT OUTSIDE OF THE DOOR! That would be kind of funny if his parent was a customer, and he ran outside and tried to pee and then they ran after him and caught him...but no, this kid belonged to someone who worked in the store! He wasn't being supervised at all. I should have known lol....If you see unsupervised semi naked toddlers peeing on the front door of a business, you should probably take it as a sign to get back in your car and turn around and go home lol. I have never shopped here, so I don't have anything to say on their prices, but I can say one thing. I'm sure they're making a KILLING considering the low ball offers they're handing out left and right. read more
