I stopped by Pavilions on San Miguel early this morning in a bit of a rush. I needed balloons blown up for our new office opening and knew the floral and balloon department staff likely hadn't arrived yet. I wasn't sure what to expect, but what I got was truly exceptional customer service from start to finish. Jack was the first to help me, and while he admitted the balloon department wasn't his usual territory, that didn't slow him down one bit. He tracked down everything he needed, scissors, ribbon, you name it, with a "whatever it takes" attitude that was so refreshing. He was kind, patient, and genuinely invested in getting the job done right. Midway through, Shirley joined in to help, and she was equally warm and friendly. She's the kind of person who makes you feel like you're chatting with someone you've known for years. It made what could have been a stressful errand feel genuinely enjoyable. Just as things were wrapping up, Gemma, who runs the floral department, arrived for her shift and helped me check out quickly and efficiently. She, too, was incredibly friendly and made sure I got out the door without losing any more time. They could have turned me away like the other grocery store I called first because "that department" was not open yet, but instead, these three individuals came together seamlessly, with fantastic attitudes, to help a customer they'd never met pull off a special team celebration. That kind of collaborative, genuine customer care is rare, and it absolutely did not go unnoticed. Because of Jack, Shirley, and Gemma, this Pavilions has earned a loyal customer. This Pavilion's is pretty on par with other local Pavilion's. The shelves are well stocked, the floors are clean and the store is COLD! I can always rely on a quick run to Pav's for anything that I might need for dinner on a short notice. If you're looking for a gift, they have a small greeting card selection in the front. Their balloons, plants and flower arrangements are unique. read more

I shopped at Pavilions in NB today and was shocked to see 2 dogs, 2 different owners in the store. That is so unhealthy for shoppers and it's a liability for the store, should a shopper get injured tripping on a leash or being bit. Dogs slobber, leave hair . .who wants that on their grocery products. I have a dog, and leave it at home when I shop. A dog should never be left alone in a vehicle and especially when it is hot, the dog needs to stay home, so the excuse "it's hot in the car for my dog," doesn't fly. Detach yourself from your dog, and also do it a big favor . .leave it in the comfort of its home. read more

This is a 10 star beautiful store! It has to be award-winning. I have never seen a Pavilions this lovely. Anywhere!! it is stunning and immaculately kept and all the salads and deli offerings were fresh looking and made you want to order everything! I am new to the area, but I have never been so impressed with any grocery store before. I live closer to Gelson's so I have been going there to get what not things. I did have some things that I bought and I was treated kindly and respectfully. I feel that this is a very quality run grocery store and I plan to frequent this more often. Really brightly lit and clean - wonderful displays Was working and needed to pick up some wine, couldn't remember where I was going and asked to recharge my phone - I assume I talked to the manager and he helped me recharge my phone so I could finish up my work. Pavilions is a Von's standout supermarket that wows with its large prepared foods area and wine and liquor department. We have frequently stayed at a nearby Newport Coast property and used this Pavilions location for years. The consistency and quality of the in-house bakery, prepared foods and deli, and overall selection of groceries, makes it our destination store for every visit. read more

The Deli staff needs to be retrained about customer service. Lacking in mannerisms and knowledge about the food. I will not name the employee, but he kept me 10 minutes without help even though he saw me waiting. He did not know the difference between cuts. He also did not cut my Turkey accordingly. Management must address this issue immediately. read more

Manager at this store (4:20 Monday 23rd) made several errors on my wine purchase. I bought 12 bottles of white wine. When the last 2 bottles did not scan, he charged me full bottle price for them and insisted that was correct. He also said he would give me a 10% discount for the inconvience which he did not. read more

They delivered a very small, green and spotty looking banana, this is my first home delivery from them very disappointed.

This particular store has very friendly workers, a good produce section and great bakery but is very short staffed so trying to find help from a front desk employee is next to impossible and the lines can be much longer than other stores in the area. Your better off shopping elsewhere unless you have a lot of extra time. read more

The team was helpful in cookie selection and prepared the holiday cookie trays as I waited. Then, one of the team members helped me outside to ensure the trays were safe in the cart. This store never has enough checkers and there are always lines and they rarely have the express lane open. The worst.

I called around 8:15 this morning to see if I could pick up some balloons, they asked what I was looking for, they told me I could come in and they could do them then. I really like this market and the quality of food and service. They have a large selection and nice display of fresh seafood and different cuts of beet and chicken. They also have a nice wine selection and consistently offer free wine tastings too. The size of this Pavilions is very big and filled with many products to enjoy. Had a horrible experience at Pavilions today, my grandmother doesn't get out much so I take her to the grocery store once a month. James was so rude to my 80yr old grandmother today that his manager had to apologize to me before I even had a chance to complain about his rude behavior. I think their management has changed hands. I started shopping here the 10-12 months ago, and my experiences here have been overwhelmingly positive. This is probably the cleanest market in the Newport area, and they have a decent selection of organic proteins and produce. While it's small, it's usually well stocked (I make it a point to go on Tues/Wed, as it's generally when market chains get most of their deliveries). The Starbucks inside is awesome. The staff & management have always been friendly to me. What more do people expect from a grocery store? read more

This review is for the poor customer service I received this evening from cashier Leihua . I was standing in line at 9:55pm while this cashier was having conversation with a friend. It was the only line open therefore I couldn't change to another cashier stand. I kindly said that we are waiting to be checked out and would like to pay and leave. She stated I was rude while she was helping a "costumer" trying to cover up. She wasn't helping a customer. She was just having a conversation. I do not know why the reviews stars aren't higher. Honestly I did not know there was a Pavilion near my destination but I use Waze and I found the perfect place. Today was Valentine's Day and I went in the section where you buy sushi the chef special of the day was the most greatest intriguing taste I had today. I wasn't sure what to get when I went in but today on 2/14/2020 this chef walked up to me told me that I should try this for Valentine's Day and it was amazing so by the time 1210 came around I was in a beautiful garden eating my chef of the day food and it was immaculate I met a lot of great people in the store it was beautiful I would give it 20 stars if I could a beautiful clean beautiful place. read more

I love this store. Everyone is always so kind and friendly. Especially one young man named Malichi. He must be in charge of everything. He has made my perfect Starbucks coffee, saw him mopping the floors and the other day stocking and straighten the shelves. Always with a smile and happy heart. Always asks me how's my day. It's great service and the only reason why I didn't give five stars is sometimes they run out of my favorite things a lot. This place has a lot things wrong with it. Staff / management are always talking about customers behind their back... been having to go to this location for years and nothing has changed. Wish there was another Pavillions closer to my house... I'd gladly give this place up. Time and time again, they proven their inappropriate conversations/ comments about customers. Worst grocery store in the Newport area. One star is being generous. I used to frequent this location because I live right down the street and it's very convenient. However now I make a point to visit the Newport Coast market. The employees are miserable - slow as molasses. Every time I'm there someone is complaining about something: haven't had my break yet, still have x hours left on my shift, I'm hungry, tired, etc. I get it, your job sucks. But have some damn pride and suck it up. The lines are long any time of day. There could be seven people in one aisle and they won't open up a new one. I've never seen anyone assume the manager role. The deli is dirty and poorly managed. It takes forever to flag someone down for assistance. Same with the meat department. The guy who stocks the booze is rude and unhelpful, yet insists on continuously rambling about nothing when you're trying to leave. There are rarely any deals here either. I guess they assume everyone in Newport is loaded and doesn't care. A truly shameful grocery store experience. Buy elsewhere. read more
