Placed an online order using the Pavilions app. This store didn't have 50% of the items i needed. But the app said they did. Then they canceled the order. Then they decided to try to re-delivery it for the next day. I tried calling them at 9am. I was put on hold then it kept routing me back to the main menu. I was on hold for a good 15 minutes. I was born and raised in Long Beach. I have owned for years no more than a mile from this Vons on Spring Street (used to be Pavilions). Today, I had a customer service experience that was unheard of but as they say, "You live long enough, you see everything." I walk up to the store and grab a cart. I notice that someone left a roll of trash bags in it. I grab the cart and go into the store to shop. I put the roll of bags on top of the florist desk counter because they are no use to me. I then go shopping for about 10 minutes. I am getting my last items and a courtesy clerk named Raul tracks me down to ask me if I took his roll of trash bags. I said "yes" and told him I left the roll of trash bags on the florist desk counter. Is this kid a blood hound or what. Anyway, his response was like "I was a guest at his mommy's house and took the last cookie out of his mommy's cookie jar for myself." I then checked-out and saw Raul changing the trash bags in the outside garbage cans in front of the store. As I left, I said, "Hey Man, sorry for putting those trash bags on the florist counter. I had no idea why they were in the empty cart but I decided to bring them back into the store." He literally did not say anything and blew me off. I told him, "You are welcome." Thinking I did not need to apologize in the first place. On my way out of the parking lot, I pulled by the front of the store where Raul was still changing out the garbage bags. I said, "Hey, what's your name?" After asking him twice, he said "Raul". I said, "Thanks." Closed my driver side car window and went home. My full scale shopping is at Stater Brothers on Spring Street and not at Vons on Spring Street. Too much unnecessary drama with the staff at Vons on Spring Street. I can count on one hand, the employees I appreciate and that understand customer service at Vons on Spring Street. read more

The store is stopping customers at the door with their own bags. You cannot take it in and have to leave outside or take back to car. No rational and bags are no more contaminated than the clothes or shoes you have on. I prefer to bag my own groceries so I left and went to Ralph's. I had no problem there. Consistency in policy and infection prevention between markets would be appreciated. read more

I have mixed feelings about this particular supermarket. Some of the employees choose to be friendly to certain customers .... Witnessed my cashier today being extra jolly to the gentleman in front of me ... having small conversations, laughing, etc. Next thing you know the cashier decided to help another gentleman that came to the side of him with an exchange or whatever .... Not once he said anything to me (because I am next in line) ... not even a "excuse me, Mam, I'm going to do a quick exchange" doesn't even acknowledge me. When I got to the front, I said hello first, he barely wanted to say hi back. His whole attitude and demeanor changed when I got up there. I had my kids with me, she even said Hello and nothing back from the cashier! Just a reminder it Doesn't cost anything to be polite.... We will be sure to shop elsewhere going forward. read more

I have been coming here for over 15 years and have seen a decline in personnel, stocking, etc. The checkers dont say hi or smile. they talk to eachother out loud which is tacky. Some even look a little sloppy. nobody greets you at the bread, meat or deli section. This store looks cheap and has a cold un-inviting feel to it now and their prices are ridiculous. Saving grace is their wine selection and pharmacy. Flower Dept is meh. Someone dropped the ball here. read more

Pavilions (which is now Vons) has provided the neighborhood with quality groceries, but the best part is their staff! I really appreciate how Vons hires people of all ages and abilities. The Pharmacy in this Vons have a rudest people working I've ever had to deal with. She was extremely short and could care less of my needs. I switched to this pharmacy hoping to make my life easier while shopping and picking up our monthly prescriptions. Grocery store love, but I no longer will tolerate this poor customer service. This a review of deli market. Sandwich was very good, as is the case with most Vons sandwiches. The service was lacking though. Omg, after paying for my sandwiches and eating half of it at the Starbucks tables i decided to go back and get a drink. I stood there for 10-15 minutes like a dumbass simply wanting to get a fountain drink. Endless amounts of non-deli employees walked by without a single attempt to help out or call a Vons coworker. An employee did try to help out by letting me know there was another cash register around the side, with two people waiting and also unstaffed. Management: over staffing is better than under staffing. At the very least inform your employees that even if they are not deli workers, they're still store employees. It doesn't hurt to ask a waiting customer at a unstaffed station "Have you been helped?". "Let me get someone to help you" read more

This is my corner store... I go there for EVERYTHING! The pharmacy knows my name and prescription. I called on a Wednesday mid morning to order 2 dozen cupcakes, chocolate cake with hot pink frosting for pick up on Saturday morning at 10 am. The lady on the phone said they were $10, does that seem right? Maybe she meant for each dozen? We shall see... Well I give it 2 stars because they do generally have what I need as a paying customer and it is the closest market to my house! But my review is based on the people who work in the store and run the store!!! With that being said MOST OF THE STAFF HERE ARE RUDE AF! I brush it off because i dont give AF whats going on with them that makes them that way but after this past shopping trip I AM GOING TO START TAKING NAMES AND CALLING CORPORATE!!!! The only really nice and friendly persons are 1 yes ONE regular checker and ONE yes ONE meat department guy (African American) gent who's always smiling and says "HEY HOWYA DOIN"! Every single time he sees me!! That being said i went to get some fried chicken for an easy dinner and there was like 4 left! All I did was ask a simple question that should have been answered by a simple YES or NO..but he says to me "it just came out and we are short staffed"!!!! WTF does that mean??? He pauses and then say "WELL HOW MANY DO YOU WANT"??? Such an ugly tone that made me feel like it was a bother to him! I still remained passive because I wanted GD chicken and I said an 8 piece! He took his sweet ass time and went and got a big bowl full and picked thru it which took another 5 minutes then finally hands me my bag! My grandson wanted some strips and he proceeds to act bothered by that as well! I asked "how they come" like were they by the piece or maybe 6 or whatever! This M'efer wants to make me feel stupid in front of the other customers and starts questioning me "what do you mean" he says and then he say by the pound! Which he coulda just said anyway!!!! I took my chicken and just left!! Pretty hot i may add...then get a few movie theater candy boxes for a gift bag that some were marked 2 for 3$ and some were not but all the same priced! I go up to pay and ask a simple GD question to the checker "can you check these prices as some are marked and some arent, I wanna make sure I have the correct ones"!!! Thats a GD answer of "YEA NO PROBLEM"!!! As I am the paying CUS-TO-MER!!! She puts them to the side and I ask again and she says "WELL IF THE TAG IS ON THEM THEYRE CORRECT IF THEY ARENT TAGGED THEN THEYRE THE SHELF PRICE"!!! First of all thats not always true EVER!!! She rings them and WHATDYA KNOW THEYRE 2/3$!! At that point after the chicken bs I made a comment that "almost everyone in this store is so gd rude" she says omg who!! I said some douche in the deli and YOU for one!!!!! I thens said all you had to do was say "YES" and check the price because YOU WERE WRONG ANYWAY!!!!! They were on sale!!! I have had some issues with Pharmacy staff too and that was resolved with excuses from the Pharmacist but anyway its better! Another thing theyve tried to push me to self check and I express I AM UNION and as Are You??? Apparently thats a trigger and they sold themselves out but I WONT!!! They need serious training at this store or they must just all be MISERABLE humans!!!! If you order products for pick up the store will not put it aside. They will sell it and not let you know they are out of stock. So you find out when you arrive for pick up. You would think they would send a notification so you don't need to drive over to find out. I think the rude response when you ask why also adds to the unprofessional behavior. read more

This store has so many great things here but some of the employees are just rude! Came in yesterday morning waiting for the cashier and the young gentlemen didn't even say good morning, just yelled out to cashier while he is on his cellphone and popping his gum in his mouth. If you don't want to get a coronavirus, don't go to to this store is the worst in following the protocol I went in and the guy at the entrance did not even know where to pick up my food! I forgot to order coffee so I went to aisle 5 to to get coffee and I was paying at the cashier when the bag boy just came behind me! In between the cashiers touching me when you're not even supposed to go thru there even when you're not on quarantine instead of going all the way around the cashier he went right by me and touch me with his back I complain to the manager and the manager said "they're doing their best because they are new " well that's not good enough you're supposed to keep your 6 feet distance not touch the customers this manager and bag boy should be fired and I will never shop here again I'm going to report it the store regional manager and the health department! For not following protocol when is the law and with the coronavirus cov 19 you need to keep your distance!! The regional manager and executive offices need to check the video cameras to see exactly what they are doing by touching the customers and not following strict orders for this Virus a store like this should know better! Clean inside and well stocked. I went there to buy Brie Cheese for a new recipe and they had 4 different kinds/brands! Everyone working within the aisles were pleasant and helpful. Shopped Palilions on Christmas Eve for their cheesy bagels- they are the best, when they have lots of cheddar cheese ( not always.) Decided to do my Christmas shopping there - just getting the parking space at 10 am was a Christmas miracle - it was BUSY. The rib roast I wanted was $2/ lb pricier than Stater's and Ralph's, but with their online app, it would be $4.97/lb. The app didn't work, no one at 800# answered. The manager Jeffrey stepped in and gave me a coupon to get me through the register line. It is a drive to get there, but ill be doing more shopping there, as all the customer service there was outstanding, on a busy shopping day. Thank you all. read more

I love their chips and salsa made on site. They've got a few different salsa options but the red ones are my favorites. I also like their prepared foods and deli section. I recently came when they underwent some changes to update their produce selection at the register they asked if I found everything ok, I mentioned that they didn't have the bag of apples - she responded with "yes our produce section is going through some changes and adding some other options but I'll be sure to let them know" And on my very next visit guess whose back? Let me tell you this: pavilions ain't no Ralph's. The store is organized in a foreign manner to my Ralph's going ways, so finding things can be quite difficult at times. The prices are okay, for example, a pineapple that my old lady and I bought last night to make some bomb @ss juices from a nice juicer I just got... like 4 bucks! Can you believe that?! But the one good thing about this store is there is a pretty cool African American gentlemen that works there. Always so upbeat and makes conversation with his customers. Also, he always scans me a new vons card since I forget mine every single time. I must have like 6 or 7 vons cards floating around in my possession. Every store needs a guy like him tho, he's the game changer over there. Anyways, the juice was dank so I guess the fruits and veggies that we got are pretty quality. Carrots, apples, pears, celery, spinach, kale, pineapple, orange makes for a really good, refreshing juice. You should try it out sometime, and be sure to get the ingredients from Ralph's, but if not Ralph's, pavilions will do just fine. read more

When I was in line to check out the Cashier Eric was very friendly and chatty to the girl in front of me in line. When I was being waited on Eric didn't say one word to me even when he finished he was silent. Eric also did not give me the Monopoly pieces that I was to get according to my receipt. One star is way too many. I have placed three, separate orders with the Pavilions app. The first time was a small order; there were no problems. The next two times were disasters. Both times, I got home to find that I had not been given numerous items, although I was definitely charged for every single thing. The first time that this happened, the staff found that someone had not loaded two bags worth of items in my car. The second time, the staff couldn't find the items at all, so I am guessing that someone got two bags worth of my groceries for free. I am done with Vons. I have neither the time, nor the patience to drive back-and-forth to Vons because of a continuing problem with basic competency. read more

Went to the deli counter as I usually do about once a week. I know that the sandwich counter isn't typically staffed so walked around to the meat department side. One guy helping a customer, three ladies stocking shelves or running items out to the outer shelves. All four saw me standing there, not a one said good morning, I'll be right with you. I said excuse me twice and the gals just kept walking. Waited for five minutes and then left. Looked for a manager but didn't see any on the floor. Let one of the gals at the self checkout know about the lack of service, they at least apologized. Its the middle of lunch hour for most workers (myself included) you'd think staffing would have thought to have some people man the lunch counter, but I guess not on Tuesdays. We'll see how it goes next time. Not a pleasant experience and a waste of $5.75 gas to get there. read more

This is not for the store because the grocery staff is wonderful. This is for the bakery. I ordered and paid for my wife's birthday cake a week prior. Imagine my shock when I come to pick it up and it's nowhere to be found. They couldn't even find my paperwork. The woman behind the counter was very gruff about it and just said "It's not fault". She had a horrible attitude. Her name was Roberta- she was the rudest person I've ever encountered at this store. No empathy whatsoever. Feeling great because this morning I chose to eat a very healthy breakfast snack of fruit, fruit, bread and fruit - priceless. Having my purchase take 10 minutes (for $4 worth of food) -- because their "system went down" ... seriously? The guy behind me gave a big sigh of relief when I was led away in shame to another other register by a manager. Ya, it didn't get any better for him because he had many more items and the system went down when he tried to pay too. He didn't see that one coming. A large, clean grocery store with everything you'll need! Love coming here because the store is organized well. There's also a panda express and starbucks out front which is very convenient for a one stop shop! I usually stop here to pick up cake from the bakery for any office birthdays. I highly recommend the fruit tarts, chocolate mouse cake, and white mouse cake topped with fresh fruits. Delicious!!!! Also decently priced at $14 for a cake that can feed 10 to 12 people. The employees are also really friendly and helpful which makes the shopping experience so much better! :) read more
