Before beginning this project, we reached out to Pavestone and two other companies about removing our existing patio, designing, and building a new, larger patio, including plantings surrounding it. Ricky, and Pavestone, blew us away at the initial meeting. Ricky spent more time than we expected getting to know us and our thoughts and ideas for the new patio. His initial estimate was very close to the final project proposal cost. He helped us pick out the right stone, based on our house color; the right shape and size, based on the topography of our yard; and even helped pick out the right plantings. We had a specific date by which we wanted the project done and he was able to work within our request and scheduled the work to begin two weeks prior so if there was a delay, it would not impact us. Additionally, we had a hard cap on our budget, and Ricky was great in working with us to determine what we could remove from the project to fit within the budget. The schedule for the entire project covered one week from the start of the demolition to the project completion and was scheduled out four or five weeks from when we submitted our deposit. They were able to start on the scheduled date and, true to their word, all of the work was complete within one week, expect the final sand that goes between the stone (It was going to rain that day and over the weekend). They came back the following Tuesday, once everything dried out. Ricky did a great job in setting our expectations from the start (e.g. it will be messy, we may not be able to tell if they are on / off track, etc.). On the first day, he and his crew spent a lot of time working with me on the specific layout and flow of the patio (it's curved and they wanted to get the lines exactly right), the walkway, and the stoop to the door. Once that was set, his team was off and running. Ricky and I spoke every day throughout the project and he kept us updated on the status, warned us about impending rain, etc. Each evening, the crew actually cleaned up after themselves. When I say cleaned, I mean made sure all materials were in one place so our kids could still play outside, and they swept the driveway and road where dirt and dust from the work accumulated. Our neighbors even commented on the courtesy of the workers to move equipment out of the way and to wait for the neighbors to drive by before pulling out in the road. Now that the project is complete, we couldn't be happier. Each day we are finding new details in the work that are amazing. For example, we have wood siding on our house and part of the seating / retaining wall runs up against the house. The crew actually cut the stone so it fits against the house, running at the same angles as the wood siding. We have a couple of neighbors that have already reached out to Pavestone for quotes as well. read more

Mario and his team recently completed our paver patio which involved removing an old wooden deck and replacing it with pavers and a two seating walls. Mario was great to work with. He was courteous, prompt and flexible with scheduling. He talked through what we wanted to do with the patio, listening to our requirements and desires, while also offering insight on what he thought would work well. His team started the job when they said they would and all of the people that came out to do work on our house were friendly and courteous. The job went smoothly and completed quickly, despite an issue with the product itself. While laying out the pavers it became very clear to us that the pavers did not match the pictures we had seen in the catalog or the samples we had seen on display at a landscape supply shop. The pavers were the correct product that we had initially selected, but for whatever reason this batch did not look as expected. Mario was quick to come out to see what the issue was and even went so far as to get the local rep for the product out to see what the issue was. Ultimately we selected a different color of paver, as the others would not have matched the house. Mario showed patience and flexibility with us and the vendor as we worked through this issue and he made sure we understood that he wanted to be sure that we were happy with everything. The end result was a beautifully crafted new outdoor space for our house. The workers did a great job on clean up and even went so far as to recut some existing stone work we had to better align it with the new patio. They also reworked some of the existing stone work that had nothing to do with their project to make it more stable. Overall we love the new outdoor space and would definitely use Pavestone Brick Pavers again for future projects. read more

We began getting quotes for this over 18 months ago. Then, we saved and thought about it for a year and a half. In March, I reached back out to Rick to let him know we were ready (with no expectation that he would remember us). Rick called back immediately, he set proper expectations and delivered on everything he said he would. This is a man who does exactly what he says he will do. In addition, he knows his business. My father in law was a carpenter for over 40 years, built houses and understands craftsmanship at least as well, if not better than anyone. He was at our house every day watching the project get completed. He could not get over how professional and how good the crew was. In addition, Rick worked with two subcontractors, a carpenter for a pergola and a gas company. Both of them provided the same level of work and expertise as Pavestone Brick Paving. Rick responded to every question that we had quickly, professionally and he provided the confidence we needed to get the job done. My husband and I wanted to sincerely thank Ricky and Pavestone for our beautiful new patio. After doing our homework and checking with several bricking companies (we did not even bother with landscapers) we were absolutely sold on Pavestone. Ricky was very welcoming, accommodating and informative from day one. We came in with a reasonable budget and Ricky was more than able to accommodate us with a lovely stone and accent colors that would match our home. He came out on several occasions to our home to work out a design, show us several stone ideas and work with a step design. Very professional and always available. I phoned this company looking for an estimate to redo my pavers in my backyard. It will require them to reset them completely due to them sinking. I'm in Prospect Heights. They are in DesPlaines. Joe prefers not to come out that I should send a picture because I advise him the pavers are 25 years old and he feels they are breaking apart, cracked, etc. I advised him absolutely not! They need to be reset. While explaining to him what I needed he thought it would be nice to speak to the owner, but what he didn't think about is that he told the owner it would be a waste of time to go out. Now, my pavers are beautiful, not broken, cracked, chipped etc, they need to be reset which I cannot do. NEVER, NEVER call these people, they don't want to come out. I don't care how long they are in business, where is the customer service. Then he preceeded to ask me if I was able to talk with anyone else? I said yes, and he wanted to know if they only did pavers.I would not advise him the name, but the other company could not come fast enough to check out my job. Don't use these people, not nice at all. I'm willing to pay for the project, but wanted them to come out and see for themselves that I know what I am talking about. So much for service! I was at Lurvey's Garden Center and received 3 numbers to call for estimates for a patio with a fire pit. I called all 3 numbers and Pavestone was the only company to call me back the same day. I set up a time to meet at my house and when Ricky arrived he was very professional and quite prepared with all the information I needed to make an informed decision on what work I wanted and how it would be done. I was impressed by the fact that outside brick work is all that the company does all day every day as compared to a landscaping company. Their quote was the most reasonable one I received and I liked that I only had to put down about 15% upfront and then half of the remainder when the job started and the rest when the job was complete. Some companies wanted 50% down upfront. Pavestone was also wonderful about fitting our job in so quickly even during the busy summer months. When the crew arrived my husband, who normally does all his own work inside and outside the house, was immediately impressed with them. They knew exactly what they were doing and how to do it and they did an amazing job. They were efficient, clean and friendly. Pavestone installed a new paver patio, walkway, fire pit and seat wall in our back yard. Everything was amazing and we love our new patio. Ricky came out for a consultation and made us feel very at ease, making great recommendations that got us excited for the new patio. Before the work was done, they used 3D design to show us exactly what our space would look like. Ricky then came out and marked everything off so we knew what was going to be done. We have used Pavestone both for our front yard and back yard. In our front yard they removed bushes, dead trees, old mulch, placed beautiful river rock, 3 trees, the works! Our backyard, they removed the wooden deck, (skunk family paradise), leveled, and paved, with an in-ground fireplace that gets tons of compliments! Let me tell you, they are exceptional at everything they do. Their crew is the best I've seen in the business. You can tell safety was first for them, masks, gloves, distancing! They work so well together and it shows from A-Z. They are very meticulous about placement, timing, and cleanliness, which was very appreciated. Even our neighbors stopped by and commented on how quickly things were done, 1 day! I was getting quotes for up to 7 days! What I appreciated most is the confidence our project manager, Rick had in making our vision come to life. He listened attentively, made suggestions when we asked, and really provided his expertise on what type of trees would look best throughout the year. I chose PaveStone for a large yard project (which including tearing down a very large deck, removing a tree and then laying a patio) after meeting and getting quotes from 3 other vendors. All of the others gave me the usual slick talk about how they would take care of "everything" but neglected to point out the nuances of what that would mean. Ricky was very open about pointing out where they might need to do extra to be sure everything was done to code and how to best choose from my options. He was able to address all of the various pieces of my "puzzle" including connections to sump pump and electrical. And the full team came through with flying colors - the crew moved quickly and finished the entire project in 3 days while keeping a clean site and being easy to work with. Since the manufacturer recommended them I figured they would be good, and they most certainly are! Ricky was great to deal with. We just finished a large backyard project with PaveStone, specifically with Mario and his team, and are very pleased with the transformation! My husband and I worked with Lurvey's to design our space and recommend the best professionals to bring our project to life. This strategy worked well. Since we had plans drawn up, we were able to compare bids on exactly the same set of plans. We had three of the recommended teams bid out our project, the bids came in close, but Mario was able to give us lots of great ideas for our yard to save cost while still having a perfect space. I cannot say enough positive things about Pavestone and Sergio in particular. We were irritated to discover that our paver patio was extremely uneven and becoming a hazard, so we solicited bids. Pavestone came in around the middle of the pack but Sergio was responsive, provided ideas about design, and handled the required permits. Sergio promptly called to schedule a meeting with me at Lurvey's Garden Center in Des Plaines where we could look at pavers together. He walked me through the pros and cons of each and helped me visualize how the colors would look against our red brick house. I, annoyingly, then follow up again the next week with further design questions and he helped guide us. A few days later the project started, on time, with 4 extremely polite workers. I honestly cannot say enough good things about this company. I wish I could hire them for everything I needed. They did everything they said they would do. They returned EVERY call I placed. They were NOT pushy upsellers. For our patio they simply listened to what we wanted and made suggestions and gave us options. Sergio the salesman was super nice and had deep knowledge as to what would work and what would look nice He walked us through the process and even during construction stayed in close touch to make sure things were moving along and we were happy. Very satisfied with the service provided by Pavestone for our patio and landscaping. From start to finish they were prompt, attentive and committed to delivering a great product. We live in a B-tier suburb so it was a little difficult to get more than a few contractors interested in our project, but Ricky and Co. were dedicated from the start to getting our business and meeting all of our needs. Patios are pricey regardless of who you go with so the customer service from the start was important to us. Execution-wise the team did an excellent job. They asked for our input whenever a decision had to be made, our new patio looks great and they cleaned up all the extra work debris so we were left just to enjoy the new space.
