Finally made it to Paul's Place. Nice neighborhood vibe. Big dogs. Woof! Gravy-like chili sauce which was quite good.

Menus. Yes it's the same one from 3 years ago :)

Legit luncheonette food. Hot dogs, onion rings, salads, milkshakes, Philly cheesesteak etc. Service is friendly and welcoming. Ambiance deserves a green check too.

If you're looking for a quintessential local hidden gem, the Airport Diner in West Milford is it…read more Tucked away in the small administrative building of the Greenwood Lake Airport, this spot is largely unknown to folks outside the immediate community. It offers a wide variety of breakfast, lunch, and dinner options in a very casual, unpretentious ambiance. What truly sets this place apart is the location right off the tarmac. The property features a static display of a historic Lockheed Constellation passenger aircraft. If the weather cooperates, you can actually enjoy your meal outside under the wings of this big metal bird while watching Cessnas and other small private planes take off and land. It's an incredibly unique dining backdrop. I recently met up with a Canadian friend here for breakfast, and the food and service were absolutely terrific. I ordered the two-egg platter ($7) with home fries and toast, adding a side of turkey bacon (+$3). I requested my eggs over-medium and they were cooked perfectly--a feat that is surprisingly difficult for many diner chefs to nail down. My friend opted for the impressive Triple Bypass Skillet ($16): three eggs cooked to order, bacon, sausage, AND Taylor ham, all served over a bed of seasoned breakfast potatoes in a sizzling cast iron pan. He thoroughly enjoyed it. To top it off, our server was fantastic. Our water glasses and coffee mugs were kept filled throughout the entire meal without any prompting whatsoever. Highly recommended for a great meal with an unbeatable aviation view. I will definitely be back.

Our table of four all had the chicken fried steak platter with eggs and home fries. I have to say the chicken fried steak was fried nicely. It was crispy and not greasy. The standout was the gravy on top. It wasn't thick and pasty as some are known to be. It had a little twang to it, sort of an accent of Cajun flavor. We all took a dessert to go as they had a nice selection of cakes and pies. Overall a nice experience and good food.

There is indoor seating, and outdoor (high tables under an awning, normal height chairs on the uncovered part of the deck. We had the Bavarian pretzel as an appetizer. It's plenty large enough for two people, maybe even up to four, and comes with a cheese dip and a honey mustard which is literally a tiny cup of honey filled with mustard seeds. For entrees, we had the sea scallops and soft shell crab sandwich, a side salad and fries. The fries and salad were OK. The scallops were excellent, and the crab INCREDIBLE. My grandparents ran a fresh seafood store for years. They, and others in my family, were excellent seafood cooks. Making a breaded soft shell crab sandwich is an art form. I don't think I had one outside of my family that ever measured up. Usually the shells are over or underdone. D'Boathaus is the ABSOLUTE best soft shell crab I've had outside of my family. The server was pleasant and service was quick.

I am giving a 3 star rating for the water view and the drinks, otherwise I would give it a 2. I ordered the Mandarin Salad and added chicken. It was ok. Two people at our table ordered the cod sandwich. Neither one of them cared for their sandwich. It was big but it was a square fish fillet. One person ordered the Smash Burger. Another person ordered the specialty burger. They said it was ok. The last person at the table ordered the Poke Bowl. She did not eat very much of it. She said it was to salty. The beers and martini were the best part of the meal.

I went there on a date, and it turned out to be a wonderful experience from start to finish. The atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable - perfect for real conversation. Every dish felt generous and satisfying, the kind of meal that leaves you full in the best way possible. It's clear they care about both quality and portion, which is a great combination. What truly stood out, though, was the staff. The servers were incredibly kind and welcoming, creating an environment that felt warm and genuine. We came in just 10 minutes before closing, but you'd never know it based on how welcoming the staff was. Our waitress was super sweet and friendly, treating us like we had all the time in the world. We ordered the eggplant tower and the grilled chicken sandwich. The eggplant tower was absolutely amazing -- the eggplant was fried to perfection, not greasy at all, with the perfect drizzle of balsamic glaze and fresh mozzarella. You could tell every layer was thoughtfully made. All in all, this place has heart, great food, and genuine hospitality. I will definitely be back for more!
