My family and I ate at Paul's on Times Square several times while in Manhattan. We stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn Times Square Central which is connected to this restaurant through the main lobby. Breakfast was included in our stay, so we ate breakfast routinely at Paul's. I loved the ambiance. The service was impeccable. Loved having some OJ and Coffee every day at the start of the day. The breakfast was buffet style. Not a lot of choices, but it was good. The food, though, was a bit slow. I think they need more cooks for the breakfast buffet, because the one guy was working hard to keep the food coming... just the demand was too much! Heck i had to wait to finish my meal to be able to get some bacon one day. All in all, I enjoyed having breakfast here. They need to staff up, though.

My group had talked to the manager and made a reservation for 15+ people, but when we arrived the wait staff were completely unaware of the reservation. We ended up having to wait over an hour to be seated. The wait staff were incredibly gracious and took really good care of us as the whole night. The restaurant gave us all 2 free drinks and several 20% off coupons to make up for the wait. The food seems to be pretty good. I'm vegan so my options were very limited, but I understand I'm not really the target demographic. They said the arugula salad could be made vegan, and ended up giving me a plate of arugula with absolutely no toppings. The entree was better- they modified the spaghetti with marinara and added vegetables. Heads up- the portion sizes are really really big. Overall, despite the accident with the reservation, our group had a great dinner.

I thought I had already left a review for Paul's, since we've been here about a dozen times over the last four months. Had I written it a couple of months ago, it would have been a four or five star review. BUT, alas ... what seemed like a sweet romance seemed to fade fast. Yesterday though was the LAST time coming back here, despite living just blocks away. I don't know what's happened to Paul's of recent times. It was once our go to place for a guaranteed good meal and lovely time. Last night we went to Paul's because we (had been) huge fans and regular diners there. We've probably been a dozen times in the last few months. Two of our best friends were in town and we were excited to take them there before catching a show.   But it was one of the worst NYC dining experiences we had, not just from the food, but the service, everything. A couple of times the chef came out to cater to the whims of the table behind us that everyone seemed to desperately trying to please. They were tripping over themselves for the four people at the table behind us and completely forgetting there was a dining room of other guests who also came here for a good meal and a good time. Sadly, I think few did. We certainly didn't.   Doing that dog and pony show -- with the chef coming out with a fish on a platter and all -- at the sacrifice of us, including ignoring us, serving food late and incorrectly and completely acting as if no one else was eating there was inexcusable.   At one point our server came to our table to let me know they were out of the ceviche, which was fine. But she was so focused on whoever the people were behind us that even my literally waving my hands in the air to tell her what I wanted to have instead (shrimp cocktail) failed to get her attention. It wasn't only her, there were several staff that were standing next to our table and completely oblivious, looking above us and around us. One of our dinner guests had to get up and wave in front of her to finally get her to look. And then it took 15 - 20 minutes to get a SHRIMP COCKTAIL, on the heels of our meal coming out. Adding insult to injury, our server than added 20% to a four top, knowing she had pretty much been MIA despite walking by us. But to not tell us, when it's not customary of Paul's to do that is bad restaurant etiquette 101. And then to not only do it deceitfully but to LIE and say it's customary when NEVER on any of our last 12 visits (I have the receipts) had any gratuity been added. We would have left 25-30% as we often do, even last night. That alone is shady and reason enough never to return.    I hope all of that was worth losing a valuable and loyal (and regular) patron. This was one of the WORST dining experiences we've had as of late and it was worse since we were entertaining two of our best friends who were visiting and we had raved about this place. NEVER AGAIN. EVER. Bye, Felicia!

(Dined 11/24/2022 TH @ 12:00pm & 11/25/2022 FR @ 10:00pm): Personally, I didn't meet any Pauls while hanging out in Times Square! After watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in person, a friend and I planned to hit up Paul's On Times Square located in the hotel we were staying at. I made a point to try any restaurant located on the premises of any hotel I stayed at even though I knew the prices would be distinctly higher. The next evening, we stopped by with friends to cap a long eventful day. How did Paul do with this eatery!? PURCHASE Manhattan Henge ($17.00): Makers Mark, triple sec, orange juice, pineapple juice, and grenadine, this was an odd cocktail that was more a tequila sunrise and overly sweet and not in any way a Manhattan at all https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=2IlC7Cjkg5_V0GzN7o9c_A&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw. 2008 Chianti Classico Red Wine Glass ($17.00 x2): Oaky, bold dark berries, and drying - a good hearty wine https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=ykd8NayK8Nk3_5w9LTeHkQ&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw. 6pc Bruschetta Milano ($14.00): Toasted baguette slices with goat cheese topped with diced tomatoes, red onion, and balsamic, these simple tiny snacks were a nice starter https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=vD461gv-TcfjIa558cAXyg&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw. Miracle On Times Square Cocktail ($19.00): Absolut Citron, Grey Goose Orange, Chambord, grapefruit juice, club soda, lime juice, the Chambord masked much of this multi-vodka mixed drink https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=cd8y04XEJntDp7Zz_lMNbg&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw. Fried Calamari ($21.00): Fried calamari rings served with homemade marinara sauce & chipotle mayo, these perfectly-sized rings had a nice slight crunchy coating and minimal chewiness https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=ZmAKZBT7W4D4nOxEEaC9jQ&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw. 6pc Shrimp Cocktail ($21.00): Unimaginative and disappointing especially for the price https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=z7am-XTAGQvw6AP_UBu1ug&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw. Beer 16floz Draft ($9.00): Drank as a nightcap after a full day of drinking, I honestly couldn't remember what this was https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=iVRdGpm95G6jDkqGrykhZA&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw! Neapolitan Pizza ($19.00): Traditional New York pizza as simple as possible with a nice chewy crust https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=Ri5BVVotX1uQgjYnd_y4vQ&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw. Lobster Mac & Cheese ($15.00): All mac & cheese and hardly any lobster - disappointed https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=MqMCy9XnEFI5T-Simp__Dg&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw. Prosciutto Pizza ($23.00): A ton of prosciutto and arugula lazily placed on top, it still was a fine pie https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=GX2NO-Pjlqo-UmzDG9B1Hw&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw. SERVICE First visit, we easily sat at the bar and received quick service throughout. Second visit, our party was given a table and received our respective orders in around ten minutes. Both instances, the service was immediate and straightforward - thank you! PARKING (Varied; N/A this instance) Since I was staying at the Hilton Garden Inn New York/Times Square Central, we simply walked. Otherwise, the hotel offered onsite parking, a ton of nearby subway stations, or the use of ride-sharing options - 'nuff said. ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE A sleek modern eatery with a small bar on the left, a quaint outdoor patio dining area, and a decent-sized indoor dining room area filled with dark cherry wood tables. Minimal natural lighting came through the patio and bar windows while frosted electric ceiling lights filled in the rest. There was one TV at the bar but couldn't recall any background music. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=L5iZnCsYjekFJfK99qoNfQ&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw ATTIRE At this time of year, I was wrapped up in a beanie, thermals, goose down jacket, jeans, and clunky winter boots. Otherwise, this place was totally casual but maybe dressier in the evening. OVERALL Paul's On Times Square had its charm, and I fulfilled my hotel stay directive of onsite eateries, but frankly the prices were prohibitive and was put off by the random "service charges'' during each visit ($25.20 & $24.00). Additionally, the cocktails and several of the dishes missed the mark. However, the pizzas, service, and the fact they had happy hour were positives. The food menu was varied enough, but it wasn't as elegant as I expected based on its location and the hotel brand it partnered with. I found good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $260.00 BEFORE any discounts and/or tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice... We wanted to grab dinner before going out to see our broadway show. We decided to check out this restaurant since it was in the hotel were were staying at. We arrived and go to choose where we wanted to sit. There weren't too many people so we had good choice in seating. Soon as we were seated, I used Yelp to check-in and to my surprise received an offer for 5% the meal. May not seem like a lot, but it was a welcomed surprise. Service was wonderful. Our waiter and other staff were super friendly and came to check on us often. We pulled up the menus using the QR code and we were presented with tablet to view the cocktail menu. The cocktails were yummy and mixed just right. The food was very good. My fiancé ordered the grilled salmon with asparagus and roasted potatoes and I ordered the linguini bolognese. When they brought out our food, they also brought out complimentary bread. It was a nice addition to the meal. Prices are what you can expect for a meal in NY near Times Square. Overall, it was a pleasant experience. Would definitely dine here again.

From the moment we arrived, the friendly hostess greeted us with a smile. The restaurant has a chic and inviting ambiance. We started with a drink at the bar before moving on to dinner. For our appetizer, we had the antipasto salad, a tasty mix of fresh veggies, cured meats, and cheeses. I chose the lasagna for the main course, and my wife had the salmon. Both dishes were delicious and perfectly cooked. Paul's is on the fourth floor of the Hilton Garden Inn, so it might be a bit tricky to find, but it's worth it. The restaurant feels like a hidden gem away from the busy Times Square. The staff at Paul's provided excellent service, always making sure we had what we needed. Overall, our experience at Paul's on Times Square was fantastic. The food was great, the atmosphere was elegant, and the service was outstanding. We'll definitely be back next time we're in New York City!

Located on the lobby level of the Hilton Garden Inn. Service and people are good. Food is okay but nothing to write home about. Reasonably good place to unwind with a drink before heading up to your room.

The service at Dear Irving is top notch, they are reliable and quick. They understand the difference between providing privacy and providing assistance. Great date night spot.

The view is gorgeous and sweeping. The service is attentive and professional. The drinks are sophisticated. I ended up here because I saw a video about their gin and tonic. Sounds simple, but it's one of my favorite drinks, and I'm always looking for someone who can do it well. I ordered their "dear G&T" and it was a fruity, complex riff on my old favorite. I also got the foreign forage, "a bourbon smash with a mint zing." It was also a delicious take on a classic. They have several types of cocktails, all broken down by spirit and flavor profile. They also offer a lot of spirits made in New York State. They have cocktails with earthy notes, fruity notes, fancy martinis, and a section boasting limited edition and special spirits, if you're "feeling fancy" and wanna cough up 35 bucks instead of 20 or 25! They have a bar snacks menu (sliders, nuts, and the like). I had their thick cut fries and they were light, seasoned, and tasty. I couldn't stop eating them. Midtown or not, I highly recommend this spot, which also has a couple other locations, including Gramercy.
