He then spent over an hour making the lock work to his standards. The work was flat rate based on the tasks he did, not on how long those tasks took. He also left me with recommendations on something to do to the doorframe to decrease stress on the lock extending it's life. I would not hesitate to call them in the future. I am just annoyed I didn't call earlier and have them fix it.

This company flat out deceived us. I was told $75 to 95 per lock to rekey 2 locks over the phone so…read moremade an appointment. They ended up charging nearly $700 and the invoice had no amounts listed for each task which is deceiving. I fell for those glowing albeit suspicious 5 star reviews that overshadow the negative ones. Make sure they tell you the prices up front. Had I known all the other charges they added after they got here, I would have never booked them. I love supporting local businesses, but not ones that knowingly take advantage of people by not being upfront with costs so we can make an informed decision. No mention of any other fees when I made the appointment. I called several other locksmiths after to check and sent pictures and was not quoted more than $200 to $250 all in for what they charged nearly $700 for. They took advantage. I now notice they arent BBB accredited and I understand why bc that requires a company to "operate honestly and with integrity" along with 8 other standards and when you bait and switch people that wouldn't be possible.

Long story short, I'd called Hoernel Lock and Key in Kenosha to unlock my house after I'd lost my keys. Even with a scheduled appointment, they didn't show -- or call me -- for the scheduled appointment for two hours. Garbage. When I realized I'd gotten stood up, I started calling around local locksmiths. Brian at BCS really stood out because he actually had a human response to my plight. Even though I was outside his typical service area, he offered to come out first thing the next morning. Then, he actively hooked me up with a colleague of his in Kenosha who could take care of me better. He was friendly, empathetic, and very responsive -- and I wasn't even his customer! I was impressed, definitely. YOU WANT TO USE THESE DUDES.

Took care of us right quick when he found out we didn't need replacement car keys, just a few keys to but cut from one we had. Super quick, they worked (!), he's the best!! If we EVER need to get new locks, new keys, etc, Jim's our guy. He should be yours too!! When you find good, local businesses & people like this nowadays, you want others to know them...this is one of them.

I know he heard me really start panicking then, and he asked if that was okay. I told him what was happening & that the man had just left the house and I didn't know when he'd be back. The gentleman from A-1 said, "I'll be right there. " and he was.
