Initial contact: They were extremely responsive when I reached out and I loved being able to schedule online (and there was a solid amount of availability. At the appointment: When it came time for the appointment, the technician (who was on time and fully communicative) went above and beyond in the best way. Not only did the technician answer my 100 questions and concerns about smart locks, but he also advised me my options with different locks throughout the property to balance safety and cost. I thought they would only replace the locks but they also were able to replace the doornobs, offering several appealing options in the style I wanted. They had a variety of options for locks too - regular door locks, deadbolts, and smart lock varieties. They even cleaned off the door all around the doornob because it was dirty and looked a little gross! My biggest joy has to be that they were able to use the same locks on multiple doors so we could use one key for all the doors, which is a lifesaver because I was startingbri appear as a janitor with so many keys, lol. After it was all done, they made me a bunch of copies of the key, which was helpful and honestly unexpected because I thought I'd have to go to Lowes after to do that myself given the million and one copies we needed for various family members. Vibes: it was such a seamless experience with an incredibly friendly, helpful, technician who treated my house with respect (eg no outside shoes inside) and was patient with my questions/concerns. Cost: Pricing was all competitive with other companies I considered. Overall: An excellent experience; I'll only be using Danny Keys for my future lock change needs and recommending them to my friends and neighbors!

I love supporting local businesses, but not ones that knowingly take advantage of people by not being upfront with costs so we can make an informed decision. No mention of any other fees when I made the appointment. I called several other locksmiths after to check and sent pictures and was not quoted more than $200 to $250 all in for what they charged nearly $700 for. They took advantage. I picked up an older and quite rare car in Chicago and planned to drive it back home to NYC from Highland Park. I collect old cars and I already knew that keys for this car would be a challenge to find. The door locks were not working and I was worried about driving home and/or parking the car outside without being able to lock the car. I called a few local locksmiths who didn't want or know how to fix this. When I called Karl on the phone, he offered advice on how I might be able to fix this myself. It was a holiday weekend and, when my own efforts didn't free the locks, Karl made the time to come out and open up his shop. He stayed late on a cold and rainy night to make sure that we got everything sorted before my trip the next day. Karl was friendly, helpful and resourceful. He explained exactly what he thought it was, what he could try, and why he thought it would work. The locks had heavy corrosion and had not been used in a long time. It was late in the day because the original company I called was a no-show. Chicago Locksmiths said they could do it and gave me a same day time window. Excellent communication: The technician called me at the start of the time window to tell me he was on another job, but would be there within 2 hours. This allowed me to get on with my day rather than waiting by the window/the phone (as the other company had left me to do all day). The technician then called me when he had finished the previous job and gave me a time frame of when he would get to me. As it was quite late I decided to reschedule for the next day. The same evening Chicago Locksmiths called me to confirm a next day appointment time. On the morning of my appointment the new technician called to say he was on his way with an ETA for arrival and called when he reached me. The communication was excellent and meant I could do other things because I knew Chicago Locksmith was keeping me updated on the status of my appointment. For the appointment itself, the technician was great. Explained everything, gave me advice on one of the doors which was coming loose off the hinge.
