Almond and chocolate croissant and pan de sucre
Angel K.

mm Paul! Yes, it's a chain that's all around Paris, but there must be something tasty about it because why else would it be popping up everywhere? My boyfriend and I stopped by this location all the time. It was right next to where we stayed and had some very tasty treats. For drinks, boyfriend liked his espresso, and my hot chocolate wasn't anything special after having hot chocolate with chocolate pieces melted in at other places. The chocolate filled beignet was so delicious. I can't think of why I didn't buy some to enjoy every day! Pan de sucre wasn't all that tasty, just okay. Almond and chocolate croissant was a big hit for the boyfriend (he gets all excited just thinking about it now even though it's been well over a month since our trip!)

Pastry heaven..

Two words... Pastry. Heaven. During a trip to Paris, we were referred to Rue Montorgeuil street for some of the best local restaurants and bakeries in Paris. We stopped at a few specific recommendations that happened to be closed, so we ended up at Paul. Being that this wasn't our original bakery choice, I didn't know what to expect. I ordered an apple pastry and butter croissant... All I can say is wow. I don't know what they put in this stuff. Whatever it is, this was my first of many life changing pasties that I had in Paris. It was sweet, buttery, and fresh out of the oven. There's also a nice seating area outside where you can people watch the entire street. THis place is amazing. Not necessarily the best pastries I had in Paris, but that isn't saying much given that all pastries in Paris are amazing. Highly recommend this place!

Disappointing experience. There are too many wonderful patisseries in Paris to settle for a visibly dirty one with okay offerings.

Great caramel tartlets and decent sandwiches. Don't usually recommend chains, but this is good one!

I write this to you, my dear reader, back at my desk at this soul crushing 9-5 job hoping,…read moredreaming, wishing of having one last Motors Coffee run on our Paris trip. It was head and shoulders our favorite coffee shop in the City of Light, and we lowkey made our rounds. It's a small shop, but filled to the brim with life and passion. I'm normally not a pastry guy, but if I lived anywhere near Motors I would absolutely be a pastry guy. The cinnamon roll was light and delicate, as opposed to the overly sweet and dense ones I'm used to. We also got a vanilla pastry they were testing, and a sugar cookie with milk chocolate drizzled on top. Ugh, take me back, inject these into my veins. I got my goto hot black coffee, and you could taste the freshness of the beans. My girlfriend got a latte that had the most beautiful little flower art on it. How do they even do that? I'm proud of myself, as I knew even when we were sitting in here enjoying our pastries, hot coffees, and each other's company that this was a moment I would look back on and cherish. It's always great knowing it's one of those moments when you're actually in it. You can fully appreciate it. My one regret is that I didn't get the ladies name serving us, as she was so sweet, recommended great pastries, and was just a pleasant human being. They don't make em like sis anymore... The caffeine was much needed since we were going to be at the Louvre for a couple of hours. I didn't get to hang around too much as we were in a rush to get in line for the Louvre, but it felt like a great local coffee shop!

Everyone was happy with their meals. Our server was very kind and patient with us since we didn't speak French. He answered our questions, and we felt very welcome. I started off with an Expresso Martini which was very good and yes this is how it is spelled here and I like that because that is how I always pronounce it. With our drinks our waiter even brought us out fresh olives. Now I'm not the biggest fan but Ashley very much enjoyed it. There was a lot on the menu that I was interested in and they had a number of different cuts of beef but I had to go with the Whole Duck Breast which is also a French classic which I got cooked medium rare but I'm perfect sure that's how they suggest it which is the right way like they do with all their beef too. Ashley and I also split the French Onion Soup. I will say by Duck was very good. Tasty rich sauce with crispy duck skin cooked perfectly. Some of the best duck I have had in awhile. I will say the French Onion Soup though was a little bland. I just didn't have that rich beef broth I am used too. Beside that everything was very good and would for sure recommend going to Café Blanc for a nice menu which amazing French options.

We spoke to a lady who was American but moved to Paris years ago. She recommended the chocolate hazelnut which changed her life. So us fat kids sampled the 6 flavors which the girl brought us inside the business to give us the samples. I then told her large she gave me extra large with 5 scoops. We got lemon ice, coffee gelato, chocolate chip, chocolate hazelnut and the chocolate fondue. Everything was delicious. But I think we were gelatoed out and the lemon ice was amazing ! Everything was good but the lemon stood out. It was just more refreshing as we walked Disney Paris all day then walked from metro to the stores. Then we met the store owner who was really sweet and we chatted for a bit and then said hey do you want something to go? I said no it's ok and then she said here have more lemon ice. My wife and I destroyed that as well. She was so sweet. She said it doesn't make you fat since it's just water and sugar and fresh lemon. I said yeah it will lol. I'd come back.
