Can't say enough great things about Paul! From start to finish, Paul put me and my fiance at ease with his expertise and advice. In our first call, he took time to ask us about our vision and used that to tailor his recommendations. After booking with Paul, he provides you with access to a portal that lets you easily organize all the planned music as well as give him guidance for must plays, like to hear, do not play, etc. It also has a section where you can see popular songs for various parts of the wedding and/or for different genres, which we really needed and appreciated. After that, you meet with Paul to cover your selections and nail down more of the timeline for the day itself. Organized to a T. Most importantly, Paul read the dance floor perfectly, responding and adapting to the vibe as the night went on. He was the perfect blend of energetic but not at all obnoxious (have definitely seen corny DJs at other weddings - this is NOT Paul), his assistant was great, and he worked side by side not only with us but also our other vendors and coordinators. Not exaggerating that close to a dozen guests raved about Paul specifically. Direct quote the next morning from a guest from New Jersey for our Chicago wedding: "He was FANTASTIC, I'm gonna fly him out for our anniversary party!" While I'm not sure if Paul's radius extends that far, I am sure it would be the East Coast's loss. You can't go wrong. read more

If I could give more stars I would! I attended a wedding where Paul was the DJ 3 years ago, he was nothing short or awesome! Everything you would want a DJ to be, from mixing music to being the MC on dances to teach people so they do not feel left out. When we were searching for DJ's I asked my Fiance(Wife) to meet Paul, he was so professional and courteous towards her that I knew he would do anything to make sure it was the day she dreamed of. I knew about Paul's music ability, but what really makes him worth every penny is his organizational skills. His website is easy to use for music choices and organizing, and he his very accommodating to what you want. He delivered on all the hype I promised and then some, even to the point where he said he was ahead of schedule (for this time sensitive OCD person) he made me feel relaxed. The dance floor was never empty, and the only thing I would change is to hire him for longer. Most importantly he is a genuine person who cares about your special day. I feel that he wants to make sure its perfect and that is what drives him. If you give him the chance, you will not be disappointed. P.S. In the aftermath of any event one always tends to look back and remember what went very well. Folks that attend any such event also provide spontaneous feedback. All was very well received in our instance. Paul Michaels Events provided exceptional services for my daughters Sweet Sixteen Party. Right from event planning to actual execution on the day everything ran so smoothly, despite unforeseen issues arising they had no control over. We had uplighting, a photo-booth, two excellent DJ's who catered to the masses with perfection. Shannon & Tyler, with help from Andrew with set-up, got the kids and us "boomers" on the dance floor very quickly after food. Songs played were from a predetermined playlists that my daughter and her friends submitted. Great use of technology and portals that made everything so simple our end. It took the usual worry & stress away from such events normally incurred. The boss Paul also linked me up with other vendors, i.e, videographers who again stepped up. Kudos to Paul Michaels Events and DJ Miguel for helping us have a wonderful surprise 40th birthday party for my daughter in downtown Chicago last weekend! We had Paul for our wedding on 6/30/18. Leading up to the wedding he was organized, helpful, and pretty much willing to do everything to make sure our reception went perfectly. He worked as a day of coordinator - working with all of the other vendors to ensure everyone was on the same page - we were SO thankful for this part of his service - and it helped put us at ease. Paul and his assistant were so professional and helpful at the reception, making sure everyone was in place and ready before we were announced. Throughout dinner he went to every table asking for requests - something we'd never seen done before. Guests even said that he was super friendly! Every guest I've talked to since the wedding has commented on how good the music selection was. Each song flowed right into the next one and there was never any stoppage of music. We are SO GLAD we chose Paul Michaels Events to DJ our wedding this past Saturday! We had Ian as our DJ and Brian as our Assistant. They were both AMAZING and helped make our event unforgettable.
