Mark was attentive throughout the year that we were in contact with him but there were a couple of concerns that we did have with him the day of the wedding. We felt that he was not prepared enough when the day came. He said that he would have the song list finalized by Thursday of the wedding week but that did not happen. We felt that he was not prepared as he was texting me a few hours before the ceremony and reception asking for the artist's name and band for some of the specific songs that we had requested which is inconvenient when trying to circle everything up before the ceremony. There were a lot of questions asked during the reception that could have been resolved if the finalized list was sent to us on Thursday. I know that questions come up unexpectedly but when you have over 100 guests to attend to it can be a inconvenience. We also felt that his attire was not appropriate for the reception, reason being wearing a polo shirt with a tattoo showing instead of a shirt and tie would have been better professionally presented. A tattoo was showing that is not appropriate and we were surprised to see one that should have been hidden. Overall working with Mark was nice but there are things that can be improved on.

I don't love traditional wedding music, and he made my love of metal and the cheesey 80s work. All the guest were out on the dance floor all night. He played what I call "Gatsby" music for cocktails and dinner, threw in some sock hop 50s/60s and then rolled us back to a mid-90s high school dance party for a lot of the night. For us, music was a very important aspect of the reception. So when it came down to finding a DJ, we took it pretty seriously. As we searched, it became clear that there were a lot of stereotypical, cheesy wedding DJs out there who lacked experience and professionalism as well as the patience to figure out the type of music and atmosphere we wanted at our reception. Thank God we found Nate! He really listened to what we wanted, used his background and extensive experience to make suggestions and delivered fantastic music all night. Highlights of Nate's Service: Nate is an incredibly talented DJ with a lot of musical knowledge. Our reception included a Korean ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner and dancing and required music to suit each part. Nate seamlessly transitioned from one part of the reception to the next playing music that fit every aspect of night so well. But, what impressed us most, was Nate's ability to read a room and mix in whatever kept the guests dancing and enjoying the party. We had a wide range of guests (Korean relatives, 20-somethings, our parents in their late 60's) and Nate literally kept them on the dance floor until they had to close the venue at the very end of the night. In addition to Nate's abilities as a DJ, he was also incredibly professional, well organized and a pleasure to work with. This is his business and it was clear that he took it seriously. He was always on time (or even early) to our meetings, very responsive to emails/phone calls and very on top anything related to the contract, payments, etc. What really blew us away was that over the course of the planning process and even the night of the reception, many of our other vendors approached us and told us how much they enjoyed working with Nate. Nate really listened to what we wanted and clearly cared about making the music/evening great for us an our guests. He was really easy to get a hold of, made great suggestions for wedding day timeline, and worked really well with the other vendors at our wedding (all booked independently). This guy is calm, cool and collected. No cheesiness DJ here. He helped to direct the show on day of and all music was timed perfectly from our ceremony (pretty far on from the reception at our venue) and making sure that we stayed on track throughout the night. He stuck to his promise and didn't play any requests on my "no" list: no chicken dance, line dancing or Boys 2 Men. I had several friends approach me just to comment on him that he was so much fun. We spoke the week before the wedding and he was very consultative with feeling out the guests/crowd. He offered to put together some games or more activities to keep everyone entertained if needed. No need though because the dancing never stopped. Music was great! The price was right in our budget too. I would totally recommend him for weddings!

Neither my partner nor I enjoy country music but that is typically what is played during the dinner hour of weddings we've attended. We voiced this concern to Sara and we were so pleased to have a variety of music played during the dinner rather than country. Sara was extremely flexible as I threw a couple last minute changes at her the day before the wedding and she had everything in order. During the set-up, ceremony, and reception she was extremely professional and attentive but she also looked like approachable and like she was having fun. We had music from a variety of genres, decades, and tastes. It was so much fun and people were dancing the entire time. Afterwards, I had guests saying that they were so impressed by the music selection and that they had an absolute BLAST the entire night. Since I only gave Sara 10 must play songs, that credit is totally to her talent and knowledge of the music and the crowd. I would HIGHLY recommend Sara to anyone who is looking to have a wedding that is less about the formalities and more about the fun and party.
