I started with a mangonada drink which is made with mango, lime, some other flavors and a stick of Tirolo straw (tamarind lollipops). If you like a drink mixed with sweet & sour, and chili spices, then this is the one that you don't want to miss. I always seek out for either a fried tilapia or menudo (beef tripe) soup when I try a new Mexican restaurant to test out their "authenticity". They had both on the menu and I chose the soup. The soup was loaded with tripe but not as spicy as I have tasted elsewhere, which actually was what I like. Adding cilantro, chopped onions and lime to the soup made this dish a perfect choice for a chilly night! The restaurant takes up three spots at the location. The restaurant is in the middle, to the left is a bar and to the right is a mini mart. Services were great and price was very reasonable. I am very please that there is another nice restaurant within the walking distance!

Their new complimentary salsa and bean dip literally tastes like nothing, its completely changed. The food also was very greasy, and the knife skills are seriously lacking, everything was cut in huge chunks and hard to eat with just a fork (peppers, onions, etc.). The drinks were weak. We used to order one and both have a minor buzz, this time nothing, they tasted watery. Not sure we will be back anytime soon. Maybe in a year or so we'll give it another shot.

The side dishes of their rice, seasoned potatoes, and macaroni salad are not seen anywhere else. Specialty drinks are well done although I prefer a cold pint of Modelo. The desserts are rotating on what is available but they are all made fresh there and authentic and amazing. The salsa and hot sauces are made daily and totally unique. You want hot- they have one that will hurt you lol. Guacamole is fresh and best ordered with the pico de gallo mixed in.. chips are much better than the typical offerings. This is truly a family restaurant, the owner and his wife and his boys are there to serve you and they do their best everyday.
