Came here hungover and had the best meal of my life! All the staff is in a great mood and the food was made perfectly within minutes of ordering. I cant stress enough that this place deserves 5 STARS. Our waitress was very friendly, and gave us everything we asked for! The cook is such a sweet lady :) Everyone should come here. The chocolate milk was gassss and the hollandaise sauce is to die for. Definitely the best breakfast i've had in a while.

A bit rough on the eyes, but a good choice.

The large hanging sign has an added "freedom fries now available" shingle at the bottom. It seems like the local old time farmer haunt. Smells somewhat like cats when you first walk in (an olfactory observation that was disputed by my wife - to be fair). It's like an authentic slice of the rural midwest, minus the choking haze of tobacco. Which is a bit weird. But the food and service is great. I was surprised. This being October, my wife had the pumpkin pancakes w/ apple cider syrup, which was really good. I had an egg/cheese/sausage breakfast sandwich on pumpernickel bread, which was also very tasty. Even the coffee wasn't half bad. Patti's is a bit rough around the edges, but it's a good choice. It's also rather small inside, so take a quick peak through the window before you decide to park. They also DO NOT ACCEPT CREDIT CARDS, so bring your cabbage. And try not to get preoccupied attempting to understand the curious illustrations + captions adorning the wall inside - 'survived by fecal duck' - ?? Some inside jokes are better left uncirculated within the dining public..

Very "home town" kinda place...I love diners like this! We were warmly welcomed (that doesn't always happen to "non-townies") and by luck, a table for 4 was open. We got orders in and food came quickly. One kid got pancakes and bacon - all good, other kid got a plain hamburger and could not have been happier. Husband got Eggs Benedict and pronounced them not only edible but good...and the man has had Eggs Benedict all over the world! I had steak and eggs - nice sized, tender steak, cooked perfectly - eggs were also cooked perfectly over medium. My only complaint? A total lack of seasoning...zero. BUT, I kind of get it too...they are more likely to let you season to your own taste, as the hometown crowd might not go for a lot of seasoning...it's personal. We enjoyed ourselves, walked out full and were treated like a local. What more could you want, really?

What's especially notable is the friendly and personable weight staff that makes you feel like you're in an episode of Alice. Let's just say I wasn't sure - so I avoided it. Went in tonight as I was dying for a simple burger and didn't want all the trappings of other places around from an investment standpoint. Boy, was I glad I did. I grew up in NJ - diners are a religion. This, to me, was a nicer (yet still casual and welcoming) diner. There's no neon and stainless steel to let me think it was a diner - but it's the best of a family-style restaurant and the diner we all know and love. Service was simply fantastic. Friendly, prompt, fun/funny. Atmosphere comfortable and not pretentious. Food: I had a simple cheeseburger and rather than fries, took them up on their offer for a small bowl of soup. All - exactly what I had hoped. Cook on the medium rare burger was clinically perfect. Meat to bun ratio was spot on. Hot, juicy. Terrific. Giving four stars in its category today as I want to dive deeper into the menu. I want to try their coleslaw, and pickles, and a chicken strip, fries, onion rings/straws before I hold it truly against a classic diner. But let's put it this way - I can't wait. Ps. Server said they change their specials 2x a day!!! Come for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Don't let the sign fool you

This place is clearly a local favorite as the small parking lot was full, but we lucked out as someone was pulling out as we arrived. The service was top notch! We were greeted by a friendly young woman who seated us right away in a 2 person booth. The place is your classic stainless steel exterior and the inside was packed with happy patrons. The people in the booth next to us said they rarely dine out but they frequent Georgie's for their food. We were served by 3 different young women who were super friendly and professional. Before we got our food I was thinking I would come back for the service alone. Now the food. I ordered Georgie's omelette with home fries. 5/5. Excellent omelette and though the home fries were just potatoes they were cooked with some crunchy bits that simply elevated them. Laura got the eggs Benedict and she loved it. 5/5. We also ordered the buckwheat pancakes with blueberries and bananas. These were the best pancakes I've ever eaten 5/5! On top of it they serve organic food and locally sourced ingredients. While the tire shop warned me it'd be a long wait (my car apparently decided to audition for "Most Dramatic Vehicle of 2025"), my son, daughter, and I wandered across the street to 3 Brothers Diner... expecting, you know, a normal diner. BAM! POW! WHAM! We walked straight into what can only be described as the Batcave of dining. Every inch--every single inch--of this diner is covered in Batman memorabilia. From ceiling-swooping Batplanes to walls lined with Dark Knight treasures, it's like stepping into the Caped Crusader's personal brunch headquarters. Gotham could only dream of such ambiance. The place is spotless, the staff friendlier than Alfred offering warm advice, and the food? Absolutely delicious. I had the lasagna--cheesy, saucy, perfect. I stopped here after I just happened to pass by while headed to a friends house and decided I could eat some breakfast. I'm very happy that I did. The place was bustling on a Saturday morning and I was probably lucky to get a seat at the counter. By the time I had finished breakfast, there was a waiting line out the door which is always a good sign. The owner and Griddle Master, Peter, and his wife Stephanie, have operated this diner at this location for more than thirty years! I had the breakfast special of two eggs, HOMEMADE CORNED BEEF HASH (like striking gold), homefries, and bakery fresh rye toast - incredible! Probably the best breakfast I've had in years, seriously. The corned beef hash was properly crispy, as were the homefries, which rarely occurs at most diners even when requested. There were at least five people keeping the customers happy, and the staff and customers were all friendly and talkative. That is a bonus found only in small country towns like Southbury, a small New England postcard quality town right off Interstate 84 exit 15. If you're looking for a truly old time experience that is rare these days, run here as soon as you can. I guarantee that you won't be disappointed! I will be bringing the wife back very soon.
