We saw Dr. Patterson on a Monday when Dr. Zucker was out. She was helpful and professional.

This is a wonderful practice with caring staff members and veterinarians. It has been a few months…read moresince we had a "quality of life" visit for our very old cat. They compensated for the urgency and uncertainty that we felt and provided time, empathy, and understanding. I recommend watching "The Cost of Caring" for anyone who wants to learn and understand what a veterinarian practice and its staff experiences on a daily basis. It certainly gave me a new perspective. Thank you.

My pets WERE patients here for 20+ years. Since before Covid, MVC has been going downhill and…read morecontinues to do so. They were bought out by a corporation and the vets keep changing and then the staff kept changing too. In late 2020, l l had to get angry and rude and demand a different medicine that does not cause seizures for my poor pet. My baby was not going through that horrific experience again. Gabapentin has a huge side effect of causing seizures. The vet did not want to believe me. Also, the staff continually confused and messed up appointments as did the online booking tool once they had one (this was from 2020 up through 2024). And then I was made out to look like the one who booked incorrectly, no their online software is set to the wrong time zone. I'd come with my pet at the specified time and be turned away. Really? Thanks for not caring about my pet's needs. They lost me as a customer forever. I nowadays go to a different vet's office around town. There are many others that do better than this corporation. And I know all prices have gone up but not as much as MVC. It's all about big $$. Just pass and go to one of the many others around this town. Your pets will thank you.

    Animal House - Ferret

My trip to Animal House in Morgantown WV today was anything but pleasant. This is the second time…read morein the last month I've gone into this establishment, each time seeing first hand, horrible conditions for the animals inside. The first time I went in, I was appalled to find multiple snakes with multiple layers of stuck shed, snakes with ticks, and just overall neglect of the reptiles. When I inquired about basic care being met for these animals, I was met with a lot of finger pointing, and blame games. No one wanted to accept responsibility for the conditions these animals were in. A friend and I spent over an hour of our time deshedding a carpet python that the employees and volunteers refused to even handle, we then received a rat which wreaked of rot, and had very recently had its eye gouged out. Whether by another rat or self-inflicted, is unknown. Today, when I entered the store, with the intention of purchasing a replacement rat, I discovered the ball python pictured below. This seems to be one of the ball pythons from my previous visit that was infected with ticks. So I took a picture and then alerted the owner of the dead snake. The owner immediately went on the defensive, asking why I was taking pictures of a dead snake, and sarcastically asked me if I wanted said snake. My response was "well I sure don't now!" She then continued to blame the death of multiple reptiles on the fact that her "overnight shipment" had not arrived for an extra few days. However, the smell of rot in the tank with the ball python, and the state the corpse was in made it clear the snake had laid in there dead far longer than any length of time considered "reasonable." She then tried to blame the smell on one of the many baby hamsters in the tank with this dead snake, and then proceeded to ask me if I'd seen if the OTHER snake in that tank was dead too. She ended our interaction with "I better not catch you taking pictures in the store again." Based on what I've seen, I can only reason that the treatment of these animals is severely neglectful. I hope that by sharing this, either the public is more aware of the conditions that Animal House provides for its animals, or that Animas House improves those conditions. I post this, not to be slandering, or to be mean-spirited, but solely out of concern for the animals.

As we walked to the back where the fish tanks are I was surprised to see ducklings, prairie dogs, sugar gliders and chinchillas. Reptile game was also strong...prices seemed decent. I asked out of curiosity the cost of a duckling...19$...heck that just seems like a good deal! I grabbed my fishes and was on my way before I ended up coming home with a bunch of furry friends.
