The wine is amazing, for over 15 years I have been strictly a red wine guy but surprisingly their white wines are very good. The service was great, the employees treated my wife and I like we've been long time members even though it was our first time at this location. The workers know their info on the wines, grapes, and history of the company and answered all questions we had during our conversations. The ambiance was just right, not bright or over advertising, not trying to sell third party vendor items. The colors were dark and intimate inside and the outside tables have umbrellas to protect from the sun and/or rain. Great tasting experience. The tasting room was modern and well-air conditioned (this is important during at least a few weeks in Seattle), with a combo of comfortable arm chairs and high tops. There are several tastings to choose from - all start with an off menu glass of their bubbly, which was delicious. Six tastings after that and pours are perfectly sized. All wines are good but we really loved the Syrah and the Zinfandel. Service was knowledgeable and friendly and flexible. We neither felt rushed nor like we were waiting - a rare combo. Like most wineries, you get the tasting for "free" if you buy a certain amount of wine - in this case, $35. Each bottle you buy comes with a coupon for another tasting - so if you come again and don't buy more wine then (good luck) it's a 2 for 1! read more

Visited with a social group of 8 on a perfect Sunday afternoon and had a great time! We did the $35 "Wine and Chocolate Experience" hosted by Javin who was patient and very knowledgeable about both the wine and the chocolate. Since there was a large group of us, I loved that he did 3/5 of the pairings first then came back after awhile for the last 2 so we never felt rushed and could fully enjoy the experience. After we'd each identified a favorite, we ended up staying for another glass or two of wine, enjoying the beautiful airy interior of the tasting room on a sunny day. We enjoyed a fun tasting with Javin at the helm. He led us through the wines of Patterson Cellars with just enough detail and humor. He shared information about grape growing in Washington and the particular varietals and techniques used by Patterson Cellars. We went home with some of our favorite wines, the Melange Blanc and the Cabernet-Sauvignon-Malbec. The melange blanc is perfect for a light drink at home. It's crisp and not too fruity. The cab blend will pair with many home-cooked meals without being too fussy. We also enjoyed their Chardonnay. Though I'm not usually fond of Chardonnays, the Washington ones might be for me, so I'd recommend trying this one to anyone who usually shies away from California ones. The space at this tasting room has rotating art, which is for sale. They may have reduced the number of tables as there is plenty of room to social distance. We stopped by to get a taste of their newly released Sparkling Rosé. Just in time for Valentine's Day. The tasting room is pretty big with lots of seating available. The bar area is huge and can accommodate at least 12-15 people comfortably by itself. There is additional bar style seating on tables located through the room and a couple of sofa like areas to sit in. Definitely something for everyone! I like to sit at the bar so I can watch the servers and be part of the hub-bub! They were having a special Valentines tasting with their bubbly and rosé's, and I was eager to try them. Our server was nice, but was a little slow at serving. Surprisingly, there were a lot of us out tasting in spite of the snowy weather. Our server was the only person working, so he was behind on everybody, but we just took it in stride and enjoyed chatting with each other. My friend reserved time for us to do their chocolate and wine experience - we had SO much fun. Not only was the wine phenomenal, and the chocolate delicious, the customer service was SUPERB! We felt safe, distanced from the other customers, staff was wearing masks and distancing, facilities were clean. We are frequent wine tasters and the conversation and interaction with the staff is half of the experience! And boy did Patterson deliver!! Jacob was very attentive despite being the only person working the at the time of our visit and very knowledgeable. Visited Patterson for the second time this last weekend during a rainy day outing on Woodenville. We came for the wine tastings after missing the time cut off before (they stop doing tastings at 5 pm FYI). They had two options, one that was all white wines/bubbles and one that was mainly reds with two whites. I (almost) hate to share it The Woodinville location use to have my most favorite staff but times change and the new staff are just as great. The SoDo location was just as friendly, welcoming and clean. It's large with ample seating and table space. They (like the Woodinville location) are strategically located right next door to a restaurant! I did not try Nine Pies but will definitely try it in the future! My new favorite tasting room! Perfect place for groups, newcomers to town, or a chill afternoon of learning about wine. Newest tasting room for this little warehouse block. Interior is simplistically decorated and large enough for groups but intimate enough that you can feel comfortable grabbing a seat at the bar and settling in. Staff is extremely friendly as well as being well informed on the wine and excited to tell you about it. I was set up for a tasting quickly. The wine notes were expansive and described the wine very well. I met another couple at the bar who ended up sharing a glass with me of their favorite bottle they had purchased that day. You can bring in food from any of the nearby restaurants and some of them will even deliver it right to you. If you purchase a bottle, like I did, the label comes with a tag for a free tasting so I'll definitely be back! read more

I absolutely love this little tasting room in Seattle. I'm from Indy and we do not have anything like this. It is situated in what I will call "tasting room row". It is a strip mall full of different winery tasting rooms. For some reason, Patterson's called my name and I answered. Glad I did. They were having rose' tastings; four two once pours all of different rose blends as well as rose' gelato. Just think of a creamy rose'. This is my other favorite in SODO Urban Works. Patterson has excellent wines , their Melange Blanc, Rose, Sparkling , and Port are all memorable it's what we get. The folks here are really really nice and very attentive. The other plus about Patterson SODO is the tasting room is really cool. I love hanging out in there because the tables and chairs are so cool , it is a large area , during the hot summer days, they have outdoor seating so you can have your food, pizza next door and eat it in Patterson . Patterson also has a great small party room in the back. The design of this tasting room is great. Oh and they are open till 8pm , most wineries and tasting rooms close earlier.
