We happened upon this place while walking to T-Mobile park from Belltown. We had a delightful Sauvignon Blanc and charcuterie board while we sat outside enjoying the quiet tree-lined square. The wine was not the usual take on Sauvignon Blanc, and was delightful. Dawn did a wonderful job guiding us to just the right wine choice. Local cheeses and meats were paired with Dijon mustard, dried figs, and strawberry jam. We ate every morsel! The entire experience was an unexpected pleasure on our way to root for the Mariners. This tasting room is super cute, it's located in pioneer square. They're inclusive and welcoming. No complaints about service. The wines are affordable and the flights were cheaper than the cost of a cocktail from most of the restaurants I visited while in Seattle I went in to support this tasting room because they seem to be inclusive and thry appear to provide experiences where their wine can be appreaciated. When looking online we realzed they were having trivia night. Future events inc;ude a murder mystery dinner and a wine blending experience. I love that those are options. I came in knowing that I'd likely be leaving with wine to gift a friend. Although I was drinking from the perspective of someone else so that I could determine if they'd like it, I still was surprised that I only enjoyed one wine between two different wine flights. I bought a bottle of 2022 Locus Modo white wine, which I consider to be a white meritage since it's made with sauvignon blanc and semillon. I picked up notes of tropical and stone fruits and the acid seemed balanced. Overall, I was underwhelmed by the reds but that's simply because I tend to like a tad more complexity. That being said, the reds here were smooth and easy to drink- I could even see some of them being great table wines. Wishing this tasting room lots of success and I do look forward to trying future vintages. read more

It's always fun to try a new wine bar! Locus is really cool- it has that historic pioneer square feel combined with some modern touches. It felt really urban and cool and had fabulous people watching. I love the way they do the wine flights! Each wine came with a little card with some info, which was really informative and fun. I did the "staff picks" flight and let my server pick her favorites to serve me, which was really fun. The wines were all phenomenal, but the Grenache was definitely my favorite! They also have a ton of excellent food, which all paired so well with the wine. I was hungry and tried a LOT! The mushroom risotto was an obvious fave and was rich and wonderful. I also liked the cheese and Mezze boards- perfect amount of food for a snack. They offer gluten free crackers as well! You also have the option to add on a chocolate pairing to your wine flight, which is so fun. Dined in for a lovely Friday date night! Made a same-day reservation and a clean table was ready for us when we arrived. They had ample seating indoors and outdoors so our server gave us some flexibility on seating. We opted for an outdoor table to enjoy the beautiful weather and soak in the sunlight and breeze filtering through the trees of Pioneer Square. Our server was friendly, accommodating, and quick to offer a refill at the sight of an empty glass! They answered any questions we had about the menu and were informative and descriptive when presenting the wines and the sharable plates. I got the Rhône Rangers flight and my wife got the Bartender Roulette flight. Each wine flight came with 4 pours. Of the wines we tried, the 2018 Locus Naches Heights Syrah was our favorite. Intrigue Chocolate down the brick path was closed by the time we arrived at Pioneer Square, so we ordered the chocolate tasting. All of the chocolate was yummy and complex, but the lavender chocolate was so delicious that I've dreamed about it since that night. We also shared a large wild mushroom risotto and a cheese-only board. While the portions are small, the risotto was creamy and rich with flavor and the cheese-to-cracker ratio of the cheese board was quite satisfactory. read more

Visiting from Southern California and we spent two of our four nights here. Stopped by on our first night because of its convenience, ambiance and location in Pioneer Square before the Rams/Seahawks game. Great wine and knowledgeable staff. Came back for a second visit on Sunday and that's when we met Dawn! She was knowledgeable , inviting and gave GREAT recommendations for food and wine. The muhammara was amazing. Had not walked through Pioneer Square for a long time. As we were walking to Lumen Field for a Hawks game, we came upon a sweet wine boutique and said...."our people!!" Stoped at Locus for a quick wine tasting and it was pretty nice. The wines were good, the ambiance was good, but what made it stand out was the service. We had Keenon as our server and he was amazing! Very knowledgeable on the wines and a really fun energy as well. Overall the wine and ambiance would have been 3-4 stars but Keenon bumped it to 5 easily. Let's start with the obvious. Pioneer Square doesn't have...the BEST reputation. There are certain areas of it that reflect it being the oldest neighborhood in the city. However, there are other parts of it, that when you turn down its old cobblestone streets, you tend to forget that you are even in Seattle. Tucked away in one of these secluded places is  LOCUS WINES. This small, intimate wine bar only has about a dozen tables and a terribly charming window seat. During the warmer months it has outdoor seating that only adds to its charm. They have monthly events and a dedicated group of regulars who come in after a busy day or just to unwind. While there, I had risotto for the very first time and it was AMAZING! As a main course I had cold steak with micro greens. They offered a flight of wines that paired well with your meal and they staff were just fuckin' chill, you know? No attitudes, no rush to turn the table over. They were truly happy to have you there. It's worth noting that they sell the wine they make so that's VERY cool. All in all, if you are ever in the area, I highly recommend this place. read more

A truly peaceful oasis in the center walkway of Pioneer Square, Locus Wines is just the kind of place that feels like a treasure. Guests gather around outdoor or indoor tables and enjoy flights of wine for $16 (4 tastings) or have a nice bottle of wine or a glass of sangria and take in the sights. The food is unusually good for a wine-tasting place. They don't just offer the typical accoutrements like charcuterie, but an actual limited food menu of some stellar and high quality tastes like a saffron and pea risotto with dandy little sprinkles of telltale real saffron on top or a seasonal berry apple salad with steak. Their bread pudding was WONDERFUL and the overall experience is one worth repeating or trying for the first time. Attended a wine tasting event in which we compared three Australian wines to three Locus wines. All of the wines were delicious and each was paired with a snack bite to complement the flavors. While we sipped, our two hosts provided details about the wines. After each taste comparison we were provided the opportunity to vote on an iPad to choose a favorite. It was a fun event! I lost my photos from the event (bummer) so I have none to post right now. They host these types of events often and I will plan to go to more of them. Locus has some great wines that can be purchased by the glass, bottle, or in a tasting flight. They also offer a 'nibble & nosh' menu of food items to enjoy while you drink. In love with this little winery/restaurant gem in Pioneer Square! The full mediterranean-inspired menu came as a delightful surprise (the Turkish meze platter and the watermelon with whipped feta paired beautifully with their white wine flight), the warm service of chef Ton and the staff, the pretty indoor and outdoor seating for cozy ambience, I love all of it. Highly recommend for brunch or a date night before events in the area (it's also rentable as a private event space). Not only can I drink wine and sit outside, but they have one of the best small plate menus in Seattle, several of which can make a nice little meal. Wine tasting: Whether you are here for an afternoon in Seattle or a stop before an event in SODO (Go M's!) this is the place to go! I consider myself an amateur wine connoisseur and Locus' wines are refreshingly delicious and unique. We have loved the 2022 Locus Naches Heights Sauv Blanc, Tank 4 (chilled red...what???), 2022 Locus Rose, and honestly every other wine we have had. The tasting experience is unique and fun as well. They offer the option for a "Bartenders Roulette" tasting where you say your wine preferences (whites, reds, acidic, bold, etc.) and they will customize a flight for you. Tremendous experience. Additionally, the snacks and shareables are delicious. The bread and butter (the homemade sage brown butter), the pastry squares, and the cheeseboard were what we had and were perfect pairings for our tasting! Highly recommend a wine tasting! Weekend brunch: We loved our tasting experience so much we decided to come for the weekend brunch and an excuse to have another tasting! One of the best brunches I have had in awhile!
